I think that we should stay where we are until we have people who aren't complete noobs like me.. and everyone has at least a little combat experience.
The problem is finding decent fights to get that combat experience. The Emerald VS have a reputation for being extreme tryhards. They do not like "fun" fights. Any even fight with the VS usually ends with the VS dropping multiple platoons on a location to end the fight in less than 60 seconds, then just redeploy and do the same thing all over again. Because of this, when playing VS I have to stick to relatively small skirmishes, because all the big "fights" are just giant, one-sided zergfests with no enemies to shoot. TR and NC actively avoid fighting the VS because of this. At least if we go TR, we can always go to an epic tug-of-war with the NC.
This is basically what every VS fight is like...
but playing VS will give noobs a sense of empowerment so they can lose it as soon as they become TR or NC... you can't crush an ego if the person is a blank slate.
Trust me, the novelty of sitting in a zerg at a spawncamped base gets old fast. Steamrolling a continent with little to no resistance just isn't satisfying. It is much more empowering to overcome adverse odds on one of the lesser factions. And taking part in the large scale battles that the TR and NC like to have is amazing. The other factions on Emerald take a very defeatist attitude towards the VS. They know the VS does not like good fights, so they simply deny them the pleasure by ignoring the VS to fight each other. Playing VS just isn't fun. Also, TR needs us, VS doesn't.

I am wondering If I should switch this outfit over to the Emerald TR, because my main character is there, and playing Emerald VS is just boring to me. It's just constant zergs and overpop. It is the easymode faction. Victory is practically handed to us. Finding a fun fight is hard. TR is the hardmode faction. And I'm not gonna lie, playing TR can be downright depressing at times, but at least we'll have more bad guys to shoot. If we go TR, we are going to get our asses handed to us A LOT, but that just makes victory all that much more satisfying. Also, it's a lot easier to find good fights on TR, because the Emerald TR and NC tend to avoid fighting the VS zergs and get into massive slugfests with each other. Those slugfests are fun as hell.

Last time I played it the game refused to let me play above N64 Graphical quality, and everyone insta-gibbed me even if I started shooting at them 2 seconds in advance.
At low levels stick to playing Medic and just res people. You'll get just as many points as if you went on a killing spree and will get better gear fast. Also, the Emerald VS is pretty much the easymode faction.

Two years ago I would have been all over this.
Meat grinders are pretty easy to break. All you need is a coordinated squad to flank.
The entire game is a meat grinder when compared to what it once was.
It was always a meat grinder. Either farm or be farmed. Such is the way of PS2. It is always important to learn which outfits to go after and which to avoid, and where the zergs are and aren't. PS2 is incredibly fun when you learn to pick your battles.

So far it seems like the outfit will be on Emerald VS...
Gonna have to make a new character for that. As an Emerald TR main, it's gonna be interesting fighting alongside my arch enemies. The outfit should be victorious fairly often, because the Emerald VS is the dominant faction on the server.
We'll see which faction wins tomorrow night...
Also, this outfit probably won't be on the PS4 version unless someone else decides to make one for it. I have no plans on buying a PS4 or Xbone anytime soon.
