If the drama doesn't kill us, a lack of new members will, because someday people will just start posting less and the forum will stagnate and slowly die. I have seen this happen many times before.
What were some communities that you frequented which stagnated?
MAKE SURE WE HAVE A CONSTANT FLOW OF MEMBERS AND NEW CONTENT. DO NOT LET THIS FORUM STAGNATE, OR ELSE WE WILL DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH.
Question is how do we attract others to this site? This place is so tightly knit and niche that it's doubtful that anybody would really want to settle down here.
We could always go the clan route and choose a common game for all of us to play. Perhaps maintain a dedicated server and Teamspeak. The MC server is a step in the right direction. All we need to do is advertise it. We could also set up TF2 and Counter Strike servers as well and be a multi-game community. The more games we play the more we are going to thrive. A dedicated Mumble or TS is necessary because you cannot have a clan without some form of global voice comms. We can prolong the lifespan of our current community by hosting weekly gamenights and community events. The more active we are the more people are going to want to join our community. Or of course we could go the 4chan route and just create epic maymays all day until we get famous... Either way this community is going to have to become more active to combat stagnation.

The main one was a clan I used to run with about 7 or 8 years ago. At first we flourished for a fairly long time, then we just stopped getting new members, and the old members slowly started to drift apart. Because of this, people started posting less, the topics weren't as interesting. Everything went completely stagnant. We tried our best to bring the community back together and get new members, but all our attempts failed because most of the people had moved on and all went their separate ways. The forum died a slow and painful death. Everything went from a few posts an hour, to a few posts a day, to a few posts a week, to a few posts a month, and to eventually a few posts a year, until the site finally shut down. I genuinely miss that community. There were some cool people there. I stuck with them to the very bitter end, until it was just me and one other user that posted there. After I finally left and the community died in about 09 or so, I found The Flood, and here I am. Moral of the story: MAKE SURE WE HAVE A CONSTANT FLOW OF MEMBERS AND NEW CONTENT. DO NOT LET THIS FORUM STAGNATE, OR ELSE WE WILL DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH.

In video games such as Minecraft, Socialism actually works. In real life, in America, no way could it
Minecraft seems more communist. Well I guess it depends on the server.
I'd make the argument that Minecraft is the epitome of Capitalism. I don't know many of Minecraft communities where everyone lives together in pure Communism. Everybody has their own private hoard. Think about it: You spawn into a new world and it's your job to adapt and exploit it.

I've never really had that problem when cart pushing, and the store I used to work in was ultra busy 24/7. And that store had a completely fuck awful dress code that did not mesh well with being outdoors at all. Since they weren't union, they were also terrible about giving breaks. Yet, I still never really had problems keeping up when it got really, really busy. But that's because when it got that bad we would send out a bunch of other cart boys.
The store I currently work at is much easier. Better dress code, way less busy, union, better about giving breaks, and since I work early mornings that means I'm pretty much doing nothing for the first half of my shift. The thing is the carts at this store are mostly old and beat up, so pushing them can be a pain sometimes.

It honestly depends on the immigrants. Mexicans and Muslims that come to mooch off welfare? No. Chinese and Indians that come to set up businesses? Yes.
What about Mexicans and Muslims that set up businesses and Chinese and Indians who come to mooch off welfare?
Oh, right. I forgot that doesn't exist in magical Conservativeland.
I used them as an example. Obviously there are Mexicans and Muslims that set up businesses and Indians and Chinese that mooch welfare, but my point still stands. Immigrants are terrible for the economy if they come to mooch, but good for the economy if they come to set up businesses.

. They are not challenging, and it feels idiotic to do "group assignments" just to deal with the fact that the other person will fuck up things and whatever happens I will have to gather the pieces to put things back together.
When I was in High School and had these group projects.. I told the group.. Don't do anything! I'll do it all and I won't fuck up your grade. They listened and we'd usually walk away with a mid 90 at worst. I have trust issues when it comes to relying on others.
I usually just ignore the group and just do it on my own anyway. What those idiots could do in an hour I can blow through in 15 minutes. Other people only hold me back.

I hate to say it, but was it really all that much of a loss? All he ever did was get butthurt and cause drama.
Yeah, but it was fucking hilarious.
All that caused a lot of stupid drama though and it was psychologically impacting him in a pretty negative way. It's simply not healthy for him to stick around forums like these.
We have plenty of other drama starters for your entertainment still.
Spoiler like kinder in the picture caption thread
In general, I just find drama to be annoying and a waste of time and space. Why contribute more pollution to an already toxic community? The only drama that was entertaining was Verbatim's. Spoiler As far as the caption thread goes, I'm 50/50 on that. One one hand, I'd be pretty pissed too if someone started using my pictures like that, but then again, there's a reason I don't post pictures of myself online, ESPECIALLY to a community like this one. As for the drama, that should have ended the second the pictures got taken down. Nuking the thread because one person got butthurt is bullshit.

What dustbin wants:
You know, maybe if you threads weren't all bad bait, you'd get less of those kinds of responses. On the topic of insults and what not, well...let's just say there's a reason I avoid Serious.
Not so much "No fun allowed", but more "No arrogant and condescending bullshit."
I really don't want to start any drama, but we all know who the hell this thread is about.
I might've taken this thread more seriously if someone other than Dustin made it.
I was about to make a similar thread, but then I found this.
