So I figured out how to pokegen a Contrary Serperior with HP Fire in Black 2 and actually manage to sneak it through Pokebank.
You can still Pokegen in Gen 5? Teach me your ways.

Action Replay.

Basically just use Pokegen to convert the pkmn file into an AR code and put it in the game manually.

Yeah, Nintendo went and dun broke the thing that I used to gen stuff. Sorry.

This does remind me that I still have a few people's Pokemon that I haven't given them yet. I should be able to get on after 4:30 pm EST tomorrow, or after 1:30 pm EST on Friday, or whenever on the weekend.

Any of those times work for you guys?
Maybe I should get myself a powersave so that I can start making Gen VI stuff.

Is this still open? If so, I have a request:

Sigurd (Serperior) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Contrary
IVs: 31 HP/ 30 Atk / 31 Def / 30 SpA / 31 SpD / 30 Spe
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I'd be willing to trade some shinies for it.

IGN: Iberius (X/OR)
FC: 5172-1413-3902

EDIT: Goddamnit Nintendo! You suck dicks!

Anyway, I have the ability to gen anything from before Gen VI if anyone wants anything. If anyone has a request I'll see what I can do.

Gaming / Re: Can someone help me build my new ORAS team?
« on: May 04, 2015, 10:56:50 PM »
I would put Rotom-W instead of Amoonguss simply because it stops Talonflame and negates a few of Metagross's weaknesses (Ground and Fire).

I'm online ORAS now so if you wanna battle, I'm game.
While Rotom-W would cover many of my weaknesses, it would also open up a weakness to grass types. Also, I am wondering if I should run Shadow Ball instead of Will-o-Wisp on Rotom, since that would help cover my Gengar weakness.

So far, the only pokemon other than Metagross that I absolutely want to keep is Clefable, since so far Clefable has been one of my MVPs in Showdown.
I've never seen a Rotom use Shadow Ball, but you can try it out and see how it works out.

Your team is looking good. Serperior is so fun to use, my boy Octavius hooked me up with one that had HP Fire.

So, no battle (I was talking cartridge by the way)?
I won't be able to battle tonight, but I'll probably be able to tomorrow night. Also, it should be noted that my current ORAS team has an uber on it, so be prepared.

Also, I'd be willing to trade a lot for a Timid HA Serp with HP Fire. I want one of those so badly.

Since I just got back into pokemon after a long break, I have decided to build a new team based around Mega Metagross.

Here's what I've came up with so far:
Spoiler
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Bug]

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Wish
- Protect

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Foul Play
- Sludge Bomb

Latias @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 HP / 120 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor

It's definitely not perfect, and I know it has some glaring weaknesses like Gengar, Heatran, and Talonflame.

So, any changes that I should make? I expect this team to change a lot before I finalize it, so any pokemon is game to be replaced. I tend to prefer bulk over straight up power, so the beefier you can make my team, the better.

Mead is superior to both

Did the peasants tell you that?
Mead is pretty damn good

I've never had it..

What's it like? I imagine honey and alcohol
It's like wine, but much heavier and sweeter. It's really good.

Seriously, why is everybody here so needlessly hostile to one another? Why must nearly every topic on this forum derail into flames/circlejerking with little actual discussion of the topic itself? How can this community be expected to survive with this level of toxicity? What new user in their right mind is going to join this site when our community is so damn hostile? I'm not saying that we should become a hugbox, but something needs to be done about this shit. There's a reason I hardly post here anymore.

I just turned 21 last week, so I'm finally able to drink. So, what does The Flood recommend I try?

So far I've had Wiehenstephaner, and it's fucking incredible. I've also had Kentucky Burbon Barrel Stout, Left Hand Milk Stout, and Boulder Chocolate Porter which are also really good. What else should I try?

Gaming / Re: We've won, Steam went back on paid mods
« on: April 28, 2015, 10:23:13 AM »
There are pros and cons about the whole ordeal and how actually paid mods could have helped. It just wasn't executed right. You've "won" nothing, nor I accept to give any importance to the venomous masses who harassed other people over this. It's one thing to be civil and express sadness or disagreement, and another to target modders and harass them.

Those people do not deserve mods; they do not deserve any creativity, time and effort of which creating, and supporting a mod does. Just because they are ungrateful, and ready to violently hit anyone who they deem right.

It's not a vocal minority either; but it's a huge mass of people who do not see modders as humans, or probably think it's acceptable to let out their frustration on them.
The only modders that deserve to be paid are the ones who put literal thousands of hours into their work to make high quality, expansion sized mods, and total conversions. Steam's system did not encourage that. The only mods up there that were even remotely worth paying for was Frostfall/iNeed, since those are total conversion mods that fundamentally change how the game plays. The rest of the paid mods were bullshit armor and weapon mods that take little effort to make. While I don't agree with harassment and death threats, the greedy modders that make those deserve to be called out on it because they contribute to the decline of the community.

There's not much quality content coming from the NV or Skyrim communities these days. If this pumps new energy into creators then I'm all for it, but this will probably just be flooded with shitty armor mods and retexes. I'm open-minded but pessimistic.
If the paid modding had a strict curator system in which only large and fully fleshed out mods got accepted, then I'd be fine with it. I'm not against paying for a large, DLC-sized mod such as Wyrmstooth or Falskaar. Mods like that take thousands of hours to make, so the modders that make them deserve it. The system in it's current state is shitty and easily abuseable. It only encourages greed rather than incentivize modders to work harder. Who the fuck is actually going to pay for a shitty armor or weapon mod?

The Flood / NASA may have accidentally created a Warp Field...
« on: April 24, 2015, 12:44:18 PM »
Quote
“Star Trek” introduced the world outside of rocket science circles to the concept of warp drive – the propulsion system that allowed the starship Enterprise to travel faster than the speed of light. Warp speed is the holy grail that would let us explore the universe safely surrounded and protected by a space-distorting warp field. After watching the SpaceX rocket recently just try to land on a platform, you’d think this ability is years if not decades away. Yet the buzz on space websites is that NASA may have accidentally discovered a way to create a warp field. Wait, what?

To get around the theory of relativity, physicist Miguel Alcubierre came up with the concept of a bubble of spacetime which travels faster than the speed of light while the ship inside of it is stationary. The bubble contracts spacetime in front of the ship and expands it behind it. The warp drive would look like a football inside a flat ring. The tremendous amount of energy it would need made this idea prohibitive until Harold “Sonny” White of NASA’s Johnson Space Center calculated that making the ring into a donut shape would significant reduce the energy needs.

Meanwhile, in the lab, NASA and other space programs were working on prototypes of the EmDrive or RF resonant cavity thruster invented by British aerospace engineer Roger J. Shawyer. This propulsion device uses a magnetron to produce microwaves for thrust, has no moving parts and needs no reaction mass for fuel. In 2014, Johnson Space Center claimed to have developed its own low-power EmDrive.

Which brings us to today’s warp field buzz. Posts on NASASpaceFlight.com, a website devoted to the engineering side of space news, say that NASA has a tool to measure variances in the path-time of light. When lasers were fired through the EmDrive’s resonance chamber, it measured significant variances and, more importantly, found that some of the beams appeared to travel faster than the speed of light. If that’s true, it would mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field or bubble. Here’s a comment from a space forum following the tests.

Quote
That’s the big surprise. This signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive.

Another surprise is that the discovery was accidental, as this comment attests.

Quote
Seems to have been an accidental connection. They were wondering where this “thrust” might be coming from. One scientists proposed that maybe it’s a warp of the spacetime foam, which is causing the thrust.

What happens next? To prove that the warp effect was not caused by atmospheric heating, the test will be replicated in a vacuum. If the same results are achieved, it seems to mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field, which could ultimately lead to the development of a warp drive.

What does that mean? I’ll let the physicists, propulsion experts and space scientists answer that. All I know is, it will cause a lot of wet seats at the next Star Trek convention.

Thoughts?
