It's a shame that we have to buy DLC again to make the game amazing, I only played through it like once and haven't played it since

Yeah. I wouldn't recommend getting it until sometime after the next big expansion is released and they have a Steam sale, but it does add a lot more life to the game.

Has anyone else played this? It improves the base game pretty massively. One more big expansion and CivBE will be up to par with Civ V. I strongly recommend picking it up during the next Steam sale.

Also, the soundtrack is amazing:

I'm sure it will be 5 degrees Fahrenheit by January again, and schools won't close because it's not below 0.
Schools don't close even if it is below zero.

Math. Just recently switched out of a STEM program into a certification program because fuck math. I've only gone to community college so it's not like I have any real debt or anything.

Serious / Re: Why is the US still investing in China?
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:40:03 AM »
It likely keeps China in line. China is a competitive country, and if left to their own devices, I wouldn't be surprised if they got up to dammicky shit.

But with the whole "We make your shit and you fund our economy" deal going on, China isn't going to consider being too dammicky, especially if it would stand a chance of agitating their benefactor.

It's a trap for both countries, really.

Even if we stopped investing into China, they could still be kept in check through a military alliance with India. I doubt China is going to try anything stupid when it's surrounded by powerful American allies.

Yes, we get our cheap labor from them, but we could very easily get it from India and Latin America as well. Why the fuck are we still supporting China's shitty government? Why the hell haven't we formed a massive Indo-American alliance to deal with China?
It's objectively better to live in China than India.
This will likely change once the US starts pouring money into India's economy.

I'd rather be with the Chinese over fucking Pooloos

But yeah I think more investment in Latin American production would be better
Call me crazy, but could sending a bunch of jobs to Mexico keep Mexicans in Mexico instead of having them all flock here, no wall required?
Yes. It would also force the Mexican government to get it's shit together and deal with the cartels before Big Papa US goes all Asset Protection on it's ass.

But we could get the same cheap shit from India and Mexico without having to put up with China's shitty government...

The only fighting game I'll even touch is Smash Bros. I'm not a fan of MOBAs either. I tried to learn how to play DOTA, but was driven away because the community was so awful. Haven't touched a MOBA since. Not even going to attempt LoL because I've heard bad things about it's community.

I also don't like FPS games that have a low TTK. I find them way more frustrating than fun. No matter how hard I try I cannot for the life of me get into regular Counter Strike. I have to be playing a modded gametype. And CoD is just bullshit.

« on: November 02, 2015, 12:43:33 PM »
There have been over 10 Zelda games, if you think it doesn't need to die, then reconsider your stance if you've said Halo, CoD or any sports game.
Yes, but unlike Halo or CoD, Zelda is still good. I wouldn't mind if they stopped making some of the handheld spinoff games, but the main series is still going very strong.

CoD, Ass Creed, Mass Effect, and Halo.

I also hope Witcher doesn't get any more games either. The trilogy ended on such a high note.

Also, I don't understand the Mario hate ITT. At this point, Mario has gotten so large and is in so many games that are so fundamentally different from one another, it would be impossible to completely kill it off. Sure, you could end the Mario Party and Mario Sports games, as well as many of the spinoff games, but why the fuck would you want to end the main series games, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros? Nintendo has been pretty good about not milking those.
