Our country isn't laid out like Japan or the UK. You won't get anywhere even in one town without a car. Maybe with the exception of NYC.
Hence why it would be a regional thing. Here in Massachusetts I could very easily get to New York by taking various bus lines and commuter rails without ever needing to use a car, and I live a good 2 hours out of Boston. A high speed train system would work very well in more urbanized parts of the country like California and the North East that already have fairly developed public transportation systems.

 I feel like our economy could really benefit from it. Obviously a massive east to west system like the one pictured above would be completely ridiculous, but several smaller regional systems like Boston - DC or San Diego - San Francisco could work very well. I know that on the east coast we already have similar train lines in place, so it would really just be a matter of upgrading our existing infrastructure. Thoughts?

Who gives a shit about 3rd party support? I have my PC for that, and Nintendo was basically founded on the principal of not having 3rd party support anyway. Nintendo doesn't need to have god tier specs either, because Nintendo games tend to focus on aesthetics rather than "muh photorealism." Nintendo isn't going to be holding any games back with their low specs, because Nintendo doesn't have 3rd party support to begin with, so it doesn't matter. Why wound you ever want Nintendo to start samefagging with Microsoft and Sony anyway? That would just end badly for Nintendo.

Also as said before, you can't have cheap games and no dlc/ microtransactions. If you want cheap games, accept dlc and shit. If you don't want that, expect more expensive games.
I'd rather the latter, personally.
If a developer is charging for DLC and the game hasn't even out for 3 months yet, then that DLC should have been in the game on release. The average EA game isn't even worth $60 without any of the Day 1 DLC shit that they cut. With the 90 day waiting period, the devs are forced to either include this shit on release or wait 90 days and sell it to a greatly reduced community, because the average gamer isn't going to have the attention span to stick with barebones EA shit for more than a month.

Some ideas I've had:
- Ban all predatory P2W games.
- All non-cosmetic Microtransactions must also be realistically attainable through in-game means.
- A developer/publisher may not charge more than $60 for a game.
- A developer may not charge for any non-cosmetic DLC until after a 90 day period after release.
- A developer may not release a season pass until after all the DLL has been released.
- A developer must be required to accept refunds if their "Early Access" game does not make any significant progress for one year after it's initial release.
Anybody else got anything to add?

There were dozens of reasons for WWI starting.

These days I pretty much only preorder Nintendo games, because Nintendo games are usually a nightmare to get for the first few weeks after release. Also because Nintendo has a good track record and doesn't pull any slimy day 1 DLC or Season Pass bullshit, so you pretty much know what you're getting into when you preorder the game.
