With all the QOL changes to battling these past few gens, I have a feeling that GF is going to try to make Showdown obsolete so as to get competitive players playing the actual game again. We're already going to be able to use rental teams from other players and have 6 battle boxes in SM. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Smogon like official game mode by Gen 8.
I know that when SM comes out I'm probably going to focus my competitive team more around Doubles than Singles, since that seems to be where the meta is headed. I'm probably going to start playing VGC since GF actually seems to give a fuck now.

I think that we should cut back on megathreads, but not remove them entirely. For example: The Halo and Fallout threads need to go, but the Pokemon one should probably stay.

Because Pokemon is much bigger so it's better to keep contained to one thread for things like trading and such, whereas Halo, Fallout, and even Overwatch could be broken up to increase the overall activity of the Gaming forum. If you want to share a good POTG, or start a discussion about Halo lore or your Fallout playthrough, then those should get their own individual threads and not be sent to the abyss that is megathreads.

For the record: I did drink a ton of water before I want to bed, and I'm a pretty big guy, so it was probably more my allergies that were giving me hell rather than the actual hangover. I could have easily drank more, but at 9 beers I could no longer pee straight so I felt like that was a good indication that it was time to stop.

Too many trailers. Just once I think it would be really cool to make everyone go in blind. I've started doing it artificially with movies but it isn't the same.
If you're going to go dark, then now would be a very good time. Once the demo comes out, the whole thing is going to be datamined to hell within a day and the entire game is going to be leaked, just like with X/Y and OR/AS. I know I only want to know a few specific things from the datamine (Starters, HAs, and such.), and then I'm going dark.
