Serious / Puerto Rican/DC Statehood
« on: November 04, 2016, 04:01:02 PM »
Where does everyone stand on this issue? With the current political climate, the US may as well be a one party system if either DC or Puerto Rico were to gain statehood. How exactly would the government go about accepting them as US states without royally fucking up the political balance?

you'd think they'd do something special in Hawaii considering that's what it's based on

and the fact that nips really love Hawaii for some reason so they'd be chomping at the bit to go there for "corporate reasons"
They didn't do anything special here in Massachusetts for FO4, so I'm not sure why they'd do anything in Hawaii. As far as I know Hawaii got a special Vivillion pattern in X and Y, and I think they had a tournament hosted there, but that's about it.

Gen 6:
Ugh, the only redeeming quality of this gen of starter Pokémon is Greninja -- which I love. I dislike both Chesnaught and Delphox aesthetically, and that's not counting for the fact that they're garbage, while Greninja is extremely powerful compared to them, especially with his ability Protean. A Protean Greninja completely destroys both Delphox and Chesnaught every time. People say Greninja is overrated, but I think the reason he's so popular among fans is because the other two are really, really fucking lacking.
Underwhelming design aside, Chestnaught is actually pretty good competitively, It's just a tad outclassed by Ferrothorn. Just because it isn't OU/Uber doesn't mean it's automatic trash.

TBH, I kinda do like Gen III's starters the best, but for the most part my opinions are the same.

>not evolving pokemon

can't imagine ever doing this for any reason, considering how utterly underpowered they'll become
To be fair, I almost refused to evolve Braxien in X because of how bad I knew Delphox was going to be.
Delphox is just fine. I don't understand why it's so universally hated.
I think it's mostly because it looks terrible in 3D.

You know, I think Decidueye might end up being one of my favorite starters ever. He's Sceptile levels of cool, and Sceptile is my favorite starter ever.

I just realized that I completely forgot about the Walking Dead game. I never got around to playing the second series, but the first one was so fucked up that it was the closest I ever came to tears in a videogame.

Are you this butthurt over chalk writings?! Loool
Political activism in the vein of BLM/asshurt natives isn't really a thing in my area seeing as my town is like 97% white. There is a res a few towns over, but they mainly keep to themselves, and the local blacks are generally pretty civilized, so seeing this shit in my area is kinda shocking.

Blogs don't belong in Serious.

Also, voting for someone out of spite would make you fucktard.
Just because it doesn't suit your political narrative doesn't mean it doesn't belong in Serious.

Serious / Second Trail of Tears fucking when?
« on: November 01, 2016, 01:43:11 PM »
So last night this group of angry Native Americans took to the streets and used chalk to cover everything with anti-white rhetoric. There was a bunch of bullshit written everywhere like "DECOLONIZE THIS PLACE!", "1491", "DISBAND THE POLICE!", and "DEPORT ALL TRUMP VOTERS BACK TO EUROPE!" They also posted the URL to their shit website everywhere, which I will not post here, because fuck those guys.

So what exactly were these tards trying to accomplish by writing graffiti everywhere? (At least they used chalk...) If they're trying to get people to support their cause, they're doing a pretty terrible job. I was going to vote for Johnson, but now I'm tempted to vote for Trump purely to spite these assholes. I like to consider myself centrist, but these people are making it very hard.

For me, it was the orphanage sequence in Blood and Wine in TW3. Normally I'm not phased by things in videogames, but that was fucked.

I'd REEEE pretty hard if Decidueye ended up getting stuck with Flying type. I had a feeling from the getgo that GF probably wasn't going to keep that typing. I just wasn't sure if it was gonna be Grass/Steel, Fighting, or Ghost.

Serious / Re: Successful Suicide
« on: October 29, 2016, 10:02:56 AM »
So... How'd you do it?
Bled out.

I didn't cut along the veins to ensure a permanent end, but cut deep enough into them that I lost enough blood to actually, you know, die from shock. It was a pretty painful experience, but I decided a long time ago that if I'd commit to it I'd want to at least be aware. Bullets to the brain scare me because of their effectiveness and while I know it's contrary to most expectations, I wanted to know that I was dying at the very end; that all the pain was going to finally be over, and that I at least deserved those final moments of agony for giving up when I did.

It's strange and I won't be an advocate for suicide, but I know my reasons and wouldn't want to go out any other way.
That's hardcore.

Fuck the megathread. This deserves its own topic.

Anyway I'm going to rank the starters based on which has the most solid designs rather than which one has my personal favorites:

GREAT TIER:
Gen IV - Literally not a single bad design here.
Gen I - They're classics, and once again, not a single bad design of the bunch.

GOOD TIER:
Gen III - Blaziken and Sceptile are godly, though Swampert is a bit meh.
Gen VII - Overall the designs are very good: Decidueye is top tier, and Incineroar/Primarina are both solid, but a tad controversial.

MEH TIER:
Gen II - Typhlosion and Ferraligatr are okay if a bit generic, but Meganium is an actual shitmon.
Gen VI - Greninja is great, Chestnaught is meh, Delphox is bad.

BAD TIER:
Gen V - Serperior is decent, Samurrot is highly controversial, Emboar is garbage.

No clue what Incineroar's HA is going to be.

Tough claws baby please
I could feasibly see either Tough Claws, Guts, Moxie, or Intimidate.

Mark my words: Primarina's HA is going to be Serene Grace, and Decidueye's HA is going to be Stakeout. Primarina will get 60% burn chance with Scald then potentially double damage with Sparkling Aria's burn heal. Decidueye will be broken as fuck with Stakeout because with Spirit Shackle the opponent is trapped if they decide to stay in and takes double damage if they decide to switch out.

No clue what Incineroar's HA is going to be.

Can we discuss how fucking broken Tapu Lele is going to be?
>Ability that completely nullifies all priority for 5 turns.
>Z-move that cuts opponent's HP by 75%
>Spammable signature move that reduces HP by 50%

Mark my words: This thing will be automatically sent to Ubers.

I'm genuinely torn now: Decidueye or Incineroar?

Decidueye as always is great, and GF was even smart enough to give it an excellent typing too, but god damn Incineroar looks amazing in-game.
