So in order to get any of the competitively viable Pokemon this gen that have an actual decent stat distribution, you'll have to soft reset, because none of them are breedable. JUST. FUCKING. LOVELY.
Items that boost IVs have been confirmed ages ago.
Also WHO CARES just use a battle sim that's what they're for.
Still have to breed/soft reset to get a proper nature. Also fuck Showdown. I like actually being able to use my competitive mons in-game. Battle sims are soulless.

Well shit, I stand corrected. Decidueye it is then. Jesus Christ they royally fucked up the stats this gen. With the exception of Primarina, they're ALL bad! Decidueye's HA is a massive disappointment too. He'll be lucky to even make RU. Game Freak REALLY dropped the ball on the starters this gen.

I mean, I just gave you three other Grass-types that have worse stats and pretty standard abilities that are still good in OU.
And I wouldn't call Discount Blaziken 4.0 a better choice just because he has personality.
Amoonguss and Tangrowth were blessed with Regenerator. Ferrothorn has a GOAT defensive typing and ability. Decidueye has neither of those, and based on its design, I highly doubt it's going to be a defensive Pokemon. Only a Prankster tier HA is going to save it. Incineroar is Fire/Dark. He can't even be compared to Blaziken. Also, due to the fact that GF apparently has a massive hard on for Tiger Mask, it's quite obvious that Incineroar is going to be getting most of the love this generation, and it shows due to the fact he has far better stat allocation and much better animations than any of the other starters. Better to choose the pandered starter than the shafted one.

It's going to take the most god tier HA in the world to make this thing viable.
Amoonguss, Ferrothorn, and Tangrowth are ALL slower and they're pretty damn good in OU.
Even Clefable has worse overall stats, and it's one of the strongest things in the game.
Not to mention, caring about stats THAT much before the competitive meta is even established is just stupid. On your first playthrough of a new game, you should pick the starter that you like the most. Competitive rules mean shit in single player because there are no rules or restrictions. Your opponents never switch, never hold any items, and always have shit IVs and 0 EVs across the board.

I'm pissed because they're taking a god tier design and letting it all go to waste. Sure, it will be useable in Singleplayer, but that's it. Don't even bother trying to take it online, because with that shit tier speed, bad defensive stats, and bad defensive typing, it isn't going to be doing much of anything unless they give the most broken HA ever. For my starter, I will be choosing Litten, because it looks like Decidueye is clearly the starter that is going to get shafted. And no, the whole "Choose your favorites!" thing doesn't apply to me, because I was already torn between Incineroar and Decidueye anyway. Decidueye has a better design, but he also has dumpster tier stats. Incineroar has actual good stats and is full of personality; therefore he is the better choice.

Even if I do vote Trump, it's not like my vote is going to actually matter because I live in a thoroughly blue state. But I can at least make a difference if I vote Johnson. Besides, there's way more important local shit on the ballot anyway: My county is electing a sheriff, my district is having a congressional election, and my state has some pretty major ballot questions too: (Funding for charter schools and DUDE WEED LMAO are the two big ones.)
Even if Congress stays in deadlock for another 4 years, individual states will just get shit done themselves anyway, so it's not like this country can actually stagnate.
