I really need to get myself a Porygon-Z since apparently it's one of the best Z-move users. Guess that's gonna be my next breeding project.

Team Skull is really awful. It helps to think of it as a purposeful ironic joke on the part of GF, even though it's obviously not.
That's because Team Skull is an ironic joke. It's pretty clear from their dialogue how self-aware they are, and that's what love about Team Skull. They're incompetent goons and they don't aspire to be anything other than incompetent goons. GF made them intentionally bad to serve as comic relief.

I so badly want to read the thread but I still need to wait another 3 weeks until I can finally play it. The pain is real yo.

I posted this from the first page of thread so no spoilers still, heh. I'll catch up eventually.
Honestly, I'm really not the biggest fan. I played for maybe 2 hours and haven't touched the game still. I know they're supposed to be for kids, but so far I feel like they keep targeting younger and younger audiences. I cringed a few times during first two hours and haven't felt like playing much since.
Not gonna lie, the game starts off extremely slow, but things start to pick up a bit once you get to the second island. I didn't really find anything to be particularly cringy except for maybe some of Hau's dialogue, like Verbatim said. Pokemon has always been kinda like Spongebob in that technically it's for kids but it throws in tons of adult references and innuendos to cater to all audiences. I actually found the main story to be extremely dark for a "kids game." Also, it should be worth mentioning that Sun and Moon has some of the most ridiculously over the top and edgy Dex entries in the series.

TBH if you're going to get an abortion because you don't want to take responsibility for your own actions then you should be sterilized after the abortion procedure. It would be a win/win for everyone involved.

Abortion is one of those issues where morally it's completely reprehensible because it voids any and all personal responsibility on the part of the parent (With a few obvious exceptions.). You know the risks of unprotected sex, so you're going to go and kill a baby as a get out of jail free card for your hedonism? On the other hand, logically abortion is completely justifiable, because it means less children being born to unready and incompetent parents. So begrudgingly, I support it.

Finally beat the game. Excited for the post-game--it looks to be pretty expansive (compared to gen 6, anyway).
Post-game is very underwhelming: You get a Looker quest and a Battle Maison clone. It's as bad as X and Y.

How much better did flygon get now that he has d-dance? Is he still living is chomp's shadow?
He's still not good enough for OU. As a DD'er, he's outclassed by Dragonite and Salamence, but at least he's good enough for UU now.

Last I saw the number was at like 3 mil.
...In 3 days? So it's definitely realistically achievable. Maybe you forgot what franchise this is?
GF has done a pretty terrible job at getting the message for the Global Mission out, nor do most players care enough about the PGL to go and register for it. Especially since they scrapped the Pokemileage Club. Most of the players that are registered aren't going to go out and grind for it by catching random shitmons all day. If bred mons counted, this would be another story entirely.

So who's participating in the global mission? I'll probably try to catch 10 extra each day I play. Easy stuff like Magicarp or Route 1 catches.
wasn't really sure what you were talking about until i went to the festival plaza

Only in Pokémon could you set a number like "100,000,000" as a goal and have it be realistically achievable.
Not even close to realistically achievable. The global mission doesn't count bred mons or anything caught by people aren't registered to the PGL. Last I saw the number was at like 3 mil. 100 mil is definitely not realistically achievable considering most people catch less than 50 mons throughout the course of their entire playthrough.

Who said Bottle Caps don't raise one of your IVs to maximum?

Serebii says otherwise. Do they or don't they?
They don't raise your actual IVs, as they don't change your Hidden Power. They raise your stats to compensate for your IVs.

I've got an extra competitive Mimikyu for trade. Perfect 5IVs, fully EV trained, optimized moveset and all. Anyone want it?

Mimikyu is an absolute monster in the Battle Tree. You can very easily get your Attack to +4 or +6 with Swords Dance and just sweep because the AI just has no idea how to deal with Disguise + Red Card. Most based Pokemon ever.
bump

Spoiler
I'll take it if no one else wants it.
Spoiler
plus I don't have anything worthwhile to trade in return
I'll trade it in exchange for either a Mareanie with Regenerator or one of the UBs that you get 4 of like Pheremosa or Kartana.

On my way to creating my very first legitimate competitive team (ie. not on a simulator).

It'll be based around Drizzle Pelipper, but I'm not gonna worry about perfecting its IVs right now.
I'm just breeding up miscellaneous Pokemon that I like before designing a competitive team. Currently working on Mimikyu.

Nah, I knew it would be good as soon as we learned its ability.

All the gimmick mons seem to actually be really useful this time around. How's Komala, Pyukumuku, and Toxapex?
I'm don't think Komala is that good
It's nice being able to switch into Toxic Spikes and spinning them away without worrying getting poisoned, same with switching into scalds and shit without fear of being burned. Komala's ok for support but I wouldn't use it over something like Tentacruel.
Yeah, it just doesn't have the stats to back it up. It really should have gotten an evolution or something.
Agreed, especially considering how often I forgot it existed
I remember seeing it once or twice during my entire playthrough. It's like Quilfish 2.0.

Oh, my friend's gonna be happy about that then. He's in love with this Mareanie he just caught.
Depends on what ability it has: With Merciless it'd kinda meh, but with it's HA Regenerator it's the king of stall.

I'm don't think Komala and Pyukumuku are that good, but Toxapex is likely going to be S-Tier in OU since every other team is running one right now. It's pretty much like if Slowbro and Ferrothorn had a baby. Easily the best non-legendary of the generation.

We all thought Mimikyu was going to be a shitmon, but turns out it's fucking based:

>Send out either Scolipede or Decidueye
>Set up a Substitute
>Baton Pass to Mimikyu holding either Sash or Red Card
>Swords Dance for days
>Proceed to sweep everything with Play Rough/Shadow Sneak

Mimikyu is one of my favorite new mons of this gen, both in design and being fun to use.
