The victory of Rome over Carthage.

Other than the gargantuan amount of would-be archaeological evidence that the Romans destroyed after the conclusion of the Third Punic War, how exactly was their triumph over them tragic?

I was mostly not being serious, but it would have been interesting to have had the Celtic cultures survive for longer, and possibly to the present day. As the Carthaginians weren't conquerors in the same sense as the Romans were.
But if Rome didn't win, we wouldn't exist as we do now.

I'm okay with that.

does anyone else like to melee?

i've always loved to in battlefield, and  these animations are pretty brutal

Bayonetting and meleeing are a great deal of fun.

Also cavalry sabers.

You might be able to do it in game, I dunno

You can, but you have to do it while you have your cursor over a free tank slot in the respawn menu.

What field are you looking at?

Hopefully a bookstore, but career-wise, I guess something that requires I travel a lot and hopefully academic.

So, have you driven on a highway, yet?
yeah, it's not so bad

still don't like it though

Driving down a deserted highway at night is probably one of the most relaxing experiences I've had.
most cars its just boring imho

if im not in an aesthetic late 60s v8 listening to pearl jam or something

It lets me do a lot of thinking.

I was almost in a tornado when I was a year or so old.

And I've nearly been run over quite a bit.

I also almost fell of a cliff.

Vien reminded me that I almost died from Pneumonia around the age of two.

Standing to wipe is the patrician way to wipe

Actually it's the plebeian way as plebs don't have a place to sit while they wipe their asses.

Cheat lives in New Orleans, right?
I'm pretty sure he lives near St. Louis.

On my dad's side (family name)
We wuz irish kangs and shiet
Like actual kings too, not just the gibs kind.

After we wuz kangs we wuz clerks, scribes, priests and a lot of chroniclers/historians too, so it makes looking back through the family tree pretty easy with all the well kept records.

You get to Maine of Tethba with certainty and then there is a bit of confusion as to whether he was a biological or adopted son of Niall of the Nine Hostages (absolute madman tbh) so it's 50/50 on that but it still traces back to the 4th century thereabouts.

If you look at my mother's side though, you find one of the last people in bongistan who got burned at the stake for witchcraft (ayy lmao)

Lol your last name is O'Niell
Nah

It took a different name-branching somewhere along the line and ended up as this nightmare of a surname - O' Duibhgeannáin. That was about the late 1200s though and it's been simplified a lot since then, the O' prefix was apparently removed after the clan fought for the ''wrong'' side in the english civil war (Royalists did nothing wrong) and so when charles lost they lost the title.

Cool.

I think my family can only trace it's lineage to the 1600's
What region is it from?

I think my Norwegian half has been living around Asker for the past few centuries. Don't know too much about my German ancestors before they came to America in the 1800's, but I think the one Irishman in my ancestry came from Ulster before coming to America.
