Lots of people haven't come into their prominence until they were in their forties or later.

Sounds like lots of people are failures, then

Well just go and take that attitude, then.

I will, because it's true.

Well alright then.

Be somewhat confused and move on.
So friggin' stoic. Nihil admirari.

Well, what can I do about it besides make people doubt my sanity?
Show and tell them things with conviction, things too elaborate to be the product of imagination or research. Still... what then?

"You had an alternate life as a shaman."
"Oh cool."

Actually, people might envy you for your double lifetime, which could be bad. People could be somewhat impressed and intrigued as well. I suppose the immediate consequences appear to be purely social.

I think it's a symptom of Schizophrenia to believe you had a past life.
I think that for the purposes of the topic we're 'sane'.

But the hypothetical people we're hypothetically trying to convince don't know that.
Fight them.

Because assaulting people that don't believe you're an entirely stable individual will make them reconsider.

It worked for the Catholic Church.

If only I were the pope.

I've never really enjoyed making them, and I really only bother with it when boredom has made me desperate enough to give it a try.

The Flood / Re: Do you have any really bad fears/phobias?
« on: August 21, 2015, 11:12:35 PM »
A slow death, feeling my organs shut down as a lie on a bed or choking on my last, painful breaths, knowing that I'm moments away from oblivion.

But it really only bothers me on the rare occasion, maybe once every two or three months.

My other huge fear is large bodies of water and the various nasties that swim underneath the surface, out of view.

Funnily enough, I really like the idea of sailing on those same bodies of water, so I hope I'm good at it, because I want to learn to sail at some point.
Sailing's fun but it can be hard for some people (like me).

Yeah the ocean kinda freaks me out too, it covers most of our planet yet we also know so little about it and what's in it.

Hopefully my clumsiness on land translates to grace and finesse on the high seas.
