The Flood / Re: Why do people pay for expensive ass brands and clothing« on: February 26, 2015, 02:46:29 PM »The point is, unless you're dealing with solid colour tees you're paying for a bunch of unnecessary, and therefore unscalable things. The facts are: -A $100 tee made of better materials and with better construction quality will be better quality than a $20 tee. -Some people feel the higher quality of the tees are justifiable and buy them. Whether or not you think it's worth it is purely subjective. I don't feel it is most of the time, and would only spend >$20 or so if I really loved the design of the shirt and I felt the quality was good. The point still remains that the shirts are STILL better quality, just maybe not justifiable to you price-wise. 8253
The Flood / Re: Why do people pay for expensive ass brands and clothing« on: February 26, 2015, 02:33:31 PM »>graphic teesI only wear solid coloured tees, so I'm not paying for some obscure media reference, I'm paying for the quality of the shirt, and the value caps out around $20.I have actually never bought a piece of designer clothing, but I like clothing a lot and I know the difference between a $20 shirt and a $100 one.Lol sounds like somebody ITT pays full price.Wrong. You don't know what you're talking about.Of a shirt, sure the quality caps around $100.But you'll find a $20 sweater is just as good as the $80 most of the time.Wrong.I feel like there's no such thing as a $500 t-shirt, and if there was it wouldn't be nicer than a $40 one.http://uscheckout.apc.fr/browse.cfm/4,3379.html where the fuck did you get that from? Not talking about graphic tees And BR is overpriced so shit example 8254

I HAVE handled quality clothing, and the quality IS nicer depending on where you buy and how much you pay. As I said there is a limit, but the difference of a $20 t shirt and a $100 one is noticeable; it's up to you if it's worth it or not. I buy $20 tees because I can't justify more unless the shirt is unique. The quality is still noticeably better, just not enough for me to want to pay the price for it. 8255

Pretty confident in saying a high quality sweater will hold up even longer. Not only that but it'll likely keep you warmer and keep its form and look.Right. Close enough because it's just as retarded. But no, the quality of a shirt caps bout $100 which you can get for $60 or less used. 8260

The Flood / Re: Why do people pay for expensive ass brands and clothing« on: February 26, 2015, 01:35:10 PM »The majority of designer clothing is FAR better quality than what you will find in a mall. Now, that isn't to say that there is a huge difference between a $40 t shirt and a $500 one. There isn't a big enough difference to in any way justify the price for me. But keep in mind, construction quality is every bit as important as the fabric itself. You can use high quality shit, but if its made by some dude in China it will fall apart.Nope.you clearly lack basic reading comprehension skills. I literally said the exact same thing you just said in my first commentSure they do.turn your brain on, expensive brands tend to be made from nicer materials or just crafted betterDo people really not comprehend that expensive clothes are usually made out of a nicer material? We're not talking about expensive materials, we're talking about brands. 8262
The Flood / Re: Why do people pay for expensive ass brands and clothing« on: February 26, 2015, 01:31:24 PM »You have no idea what you're talking about at all.No. Most extremely expensive clothing is pretty much supermarket quality. You're just paying for the brand name.Same could be said about most expensive clothing though. Why to people buy expensive brands of cars?Because they're actually better. 8263
The Flood / Re: Why do people pay for expensive ass brands and clothing« on: February 26, 2015, 01:30:18 PM »
people like the way they look and justify the price and/or buy them used.
There are limits to my hobby, and I would never pay retail for 90% of designer shit out there. If you dress to impress people with your money, you're just a faggot. Dressing for yourself is fine, and to me, it's no different than spending a shitload on video games or cars. It's just something you enjoy. Most people don't spend assloads of money on shit like Versace unless they want to show off, though. Those people can smd. 8264

I wouldn't say that the music is necessarily bad though. I mean michael gira reall has captured the art of primal repetitive rhythms to make a sort of hypnotic effect. That is actually what my favorite songs seem to consist of most of the time. The fact that michael gira is trying to capitalize on that effect is actually pretty intriguing to me. I mean don't get me wrong I don't think the new swans albums are like amazing or anywhere near some of my favorites, but there are definitely worth a listen every once and a while.I am doing the whole to be kind album right now. I gotta pay attention to this for now, but later I will. I don't have high hopes though because it is rare that an ambient album impresses me.To Be Kind sux tho I only like their pre Soundtracks for the Blind stuff. 8266
