Actually, this is arguably true too, since people with good taste of any skin color care about good writing instead of pandering, and are able to identify with people who dont share their skim color/gender.

No, it's autistic to give one single fuck about a character's race or gender.
If the character ends up being a Mary Sue, as a couple people have observed, then that's more of a discussion. So you should've titled the thread, "They're replacing Iron Man with a Mary Sue," but you didn't.
It has to do with the fact that they do this ONLY to pander to black people and females. As has been said before, no reasonable person gives a shit what color or gender a superhero is, but when it is done ONLY to pander to people it's stupid. The new Ghostbustera is a good example. No reasonable person is against the movie simply because the main characters are female. Instead,they are against it because A) people wanted the original cast for a Ghostbuster 3, B) The women are mostly not very funny, and C) The writing itself hasn't shown any promise whatsoever. It's the same thing for this. Nobody reasonable cares that Miles Morales is the new Spiderman. They are upset because he served no purpose, killed off a beloved character for the time being, and had shitty writing courtesy of Bendis. This is the same situation. They are removing Tony, a character people like, just to pander to minority audience. If the character has good writing, it will probably be no big deal to anyone, except those who miss Tony, which is reasonable. The problem is marvel has been notorious for bad writing in recent years, and pointless pandering to people who don't even read comic books. They did the same thing with Thor, and had some god awful writing in a new FemThor take. They did this despite the fact that they could have focused on Sif or at least cared more about the story to not make it a pander fest. If this comic turns out to have good writing (it won't because Bendis), then that's awesome. But pointless pandering is not a good sign.
