and i mean so is Dio era and Tony era (in metal circles, anyway), but Ozzy in part gave the band the sound that made them who they were.

But "singing" in the way we're using it is more of an objective thing and, to me, completely arbitrary unless you sing opera or jazz. Whitney Houston is supposed to be a "good singer" but she sucks massive black cocks in hell and should have never made her shitty music.

Ozzy is the shittiest singer technically in Sabbath, but his voice was WAY better for the band than Dio or anyone else. Dio was great in Rainbow, that band fit his voice perfectly. His own band was great too.

EDIT: And I know you were referring only to singing. What I am saying is Ozzy's voice was perfect for the band.  They adapted to later singers, sure, but the sound was never as good as it was with Ozzy because his voice was part of their sound.
