The Flood / Re: Batman vs Superman leaked trailer« on: April 17, 2015, 04:33:20 PM »and I understand that, but the majority of comics are still fairly campy, and the majority of people who like comics prefer that. They do not want the over saturation of grimdark edgelord movies. The Nolan trilogy was alright. Begins was okay, TDK was great, and TDKR was dumb. I didn't say they couldn't make good movies or comics, what I am saying is if you prefer one more than the other you promote over saturation which sucks balls.I like comics and I loved Nolan's trilogy with the exception of TDKR after the first 15 minutes. Not to mention there were grimdark comics before there was grimdark capeshit. There's clearly two different markets operating here. The people who like edgy grit, and the people who like campy comics. Simple economics brochacho.Their success is mostly based around people who don't like comics in the first place, which is my point.Um, the TDK franchise is worth billions dude, and despite Watchmen being kinda shitty it grossed a healthy 50 mil on its opening weekend. There is definitely a market for edgy grimdark iterations of comic book adaptations. Even if you do have a grievance with them, you can't really deny their success.See this is my point, that's how comic books are. If you don't like it they CLEARLY aren't for you, and you are contributing to an over saturation of edgy shit that a lot of people don't want.My sincerest apologies for not liking the light hearted Marvel superhero movies because I felt that they were rather childish, unnecessarily quirky and both extremely shallow and predictable, and that I would've much prefered the movies if they were a bit more serious. This is some dumb bullshit, Flee. While Winter Soldier was a bit better than the others, I still find it hard to think of them as anything other than movies aimed at a much younger audience. There's hardly any serious themes that require much thought, it's always black/white, the movies are extremely predictable, the violence is the kind that has been carefully constructed as to not upset anyone and the ever prevalent little quirks and jokes undermine any serious tone the movies could have.Oh shit, this actually looks surprisingly good. Not much of a fan of the Marvel stuff, but this? A superhero movie not marketed at 10 year olds? Would consider watching.Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron are hardly for 10 year olds. 7028

The Flood / Re: Batman vs Superman leaked trailer« on: April 17, 2015, 04:11:21 PM »Which is why even though I enjoyed Man of Steel to an extent, I would have much rather had a campy, colorful light blue and bright red underpants Superman than what we gotThis makes directors and writers to write super dark versions of characters that shouldn't be dark. It works well with Daredevil, Punisher, Wolverine, Batman and Ghost Rider but not with the other ones. Basically ruining a character's personality for "darker and edgier" films. These dark shit also influences the comics and vice-versa which isn't good.My mentality being that my own and personal preference lies with the generally darker and grittier movies? I can't even wrap my head around why you'd say this, as it's literally no different from telling someone who prefers slower and instrumental music over rap or heavy metal that their mentality is shit.I'll take the dark and gritty superhero movies over the juvenile likes of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy any day.Fucking hate this mentality. 7033

The Flood / Re: Batman vs Superman leaked trailer« on: April 17, 2015, 04:08:32 PM »Comic books were originally campy and still are mostly campy. Comic book movies are becoming increasingly grittier and grittier, ignoring the original appeal of comic books. If you prefer the dark and gritty atmosphere, fine, but what that means to me is that you don't actually like comic books or comic book movies but instead like a fraction of what comics actually are. The reason I don't like that mentality is because people who just want to see the dark and gritty capeshit movies are deciding what movies are going to actually come out, flooding the medium with dark edgy shit and kicking out the fun campy stuff. My mentality being that my own and personal preference lies with the generally darker and grittier movies? Like for example that Iron Fist show that is coming out. If they make it like Daredevil (darker and grittier) I will lose interest because Iron Fist is basically goddamn Bruce Lee, not the Punisher.

It's possible for Batman to both be campy and dark, and both are acceptable if done right.
