Cabin in the Woods, even though it isn't your average horror flick
The two Halloween reboots are pretty good
Cabin in the Woods is one of my favorite movies and you should watch it, OP. Joss Whedon wrote it, so you can definitely expect an unconventional film.
*shit film

because Whedon has never done anything good in his life

wow flee, what could you possibly fall back on after such a colossal trouncing like that
His argument is either "reviewers say it's good" or "I thought it was good"

both of which mean nothing to me.

Horrible plot
Horrible acting
Horrible visuals
Boring as shit
One of the stupidest endings I have ever seen
And on top of all that, not only is it not scary, but it doesn't even have the charm that cheesy B-Movies like Reanimator or From Beyond or Evil Dead (OG) have.
Plot could've been better, but is far from horrible.
Acting was almost unanimously praised, with nominations for awards that followed.
Visuals were amazing, which is something that even those who disliked the movie agreed on. One of the most negative reviewers on RT even concedes that "I can't hate a film operating at this level cinematically. But I can try."
Pacing was good with a very unnerving atmosphere throughout the entire movie.
Ending was lame but not bad enough to ruin the movie.
And I thought it was pretty scary, which also seems to be the general opinion of those who watched the movie.

There's several flaws to the movie (mainly in terms of the plot), but just going around repeatedly stating that every aspect of it is "objectively horrible" when seemingly no one who knows a thing about movies agrees really doesn't make a good case for yourself.
Every single thing you just said was objectively wrong.

GOAT visuals  8)  8)  8)  8)  8)

Let the right one in.
Mama was fucking horrible though
No.
Mama was stupid.

Mama had a decent premise but ultimately contrived and poorly presented plot, but it had decent scares, was very unnerving and is cinematically one of the most beautifully shot horror movies that I've ever seen. Could've been better, but still a good movie imo.
It's objectively fucking horrible. What was so great about the cinematography? Nothing special in my memory.
How is it objectively horrible when it was praised by several renowned movie critics and received generally favorable reviews, sitting at around 65% on most popular sites?

And I just think it's a beautifully shot movie. Great angles, colors, general vibe, meaningful and relevant scenes properly portrayed. Well acted too, and the way they did mama's movement is pretty awesome. It has its flaws, but I still liked it quite a bit.
Because those people are objectively wrong and the movie was terrible.

Oh yeah and Beyond the Black Rainbow. I dunno how I forgot about it when it's where I got my avatar from.

But only watch it if you are cool with a minimalist plot and visually focused movies.

-No but there are common traits that make games RPGs.

-In order to be an RPG you have to have some say in the creation of your character, objectively. Dark Souls really gives you nothing to differentiate your characters outside of weapons and whether or not you choose to kill random NPCs.

-RPGs have typically never dealt in skill alone, whereas Dark Souls does.

-Mass Effect is more open world than Dark Souls. I have never played the Witcher.

My view of RPGs comes from what RPGs originally were, which are games like Dungeons and Dragons.

Mass Effect,  Morrowind and KotOR are all garbage.

Dark Souls is more JRPG than RPG and doesn't count.
Dark Souls is more Western than it is Japanese.
Name a single thing other than the aesthetic that is more Western than Japanese
Name a single thing that makes it more Japanese than Western.

A JRPG is still an RPG.
Final Fantasy and Morrowind are two completely different types of games.

Dark Souls has a fixed role you play, you do not really have a say in the story beyond trivial things like "should I kill Solaire for no reason or not?"

Dark Souls is mostly based on skill, and not the level you are, further alienating it from RPGs in general.

It's made in Japan

It is not open world in the way a game like Morrowind is, and although it is "open" it does not give you the freedom that a game like Morrowind does.

I honestly wouldn't even call Dark Souls an RPG because it's more akin to a game like Castlevania SOTN than a game like Morrowind or even Final Fantasy. Really the only thing that it shares with RPGs is its leveling system.

Dumb whore who is further proof women are not funny.
That sounds very interesting, but here's something that will be more interesting, SO INTERESTING that I disrupt that line of thought (don't even hold it). I think the ice creams I ate were poisoned, but I can't tell if it was the cheap one, or the quantity-cheap one.

If it is true that I've been poisoned then I will suffer consequences. Jim, I leave you with my potential final words.
