jesus christ this thread is depressing

You don't neccessarily need role models to get along in life. And you don't need to worship them either. You don't even have to aspire to be like them either.

I wouldn't see why it'd be depressing, frankly. Putting too much faith into a role model can, has, and will backfire quickly.
It's nice to have direction in life and can help you reach your goals.

The Flood / Re: Post the angriest music you can find
« on: June 30, 2015, 02:12:48 PM »
It is music, therefore it is musical. Gutteral vocals are not concerned with melody, and instead focus on sounding animalistic and atonal, but they are still "musical"
again

you expect me to just be like, "okay"?

music is chiefly meant to be enjoyed in some fashion--that's one of its defining traits
so what do people enjoy about it
That's not what you asked you fucking mong.

I like gutterals because they can provide something normal vocals can't. They can make a voice sound inhuman, they can provide textural qualities normal vocals can't, and they can also express emotions of pain, hatred, rage and whatever in a different way than normal vocals. I just like how they sound.

i never said it wasn't music--i simply asked you what makes it musical

which you've failed to do, so

you can't just call it "organized noise" and then expect me to be satisfied with that answer
"mu·si·cal
ˈmyo͞ozək(ə)l/
adjective
1.
of or relating to music."

It is music, therefore it is musical. Gutteral vocals are not concerned with melody, and instead focus on sounding animalistic and atonal, but they are still "musical"

1. "music" is just organized noise. You don't get to redefine music because you don't like some of it.
sure i do

as long as i qualify it by saying "music i enjoy"

under no realm could i ever enjoy screamed vocals, unless it's done sparsely
(trent reznor did it right, oli sykes can't)

you're dodging the question anyway--what is musical about screaming? i don't get it
precisely what am i supposed to enjoy when listening to metalcore? the migraines?
No, you can't. Music is a set definition. The type of music you like is irrelevant. This is why Noise Music is still music, and it is musical, even if you don't like it.

And that's fine if you can't enjoy the vocals that isn't the point. My point is it's musical because it's organized noise, which is what music is. Metalcore is still music. It's shit music, but it's music.

Also there is nothing wrong with gutteral vocals you mongoloid
precisely what is musical about having a twenty-something skinny scene kid screaming into your ear about stupid crap
1. "music" is just organized noise. You don't get to redefine music because you don't like some of it.
2. Cool generalization

The Flood / Re: Your daily routine
« on: June 30, 2015, 12:14:28 PM »
I try to avoid routine as much as I can.
They say life goes by faster when you fall into a routine.
i can see that happening.

people end up falling into a routine of things they have to do or are just comfortable with, and then become complacent with  it, ultimately not having the desire to try something different or go somewhere new. that's why, hopefully, one day i'll have enough money so that i won't be restricted to a regimented life.
I read that some people think that's why life goes by faster when you're young, because everything's new and never routine.
And then once they become older and start to reminisce on life, they realize that they spent the majority of their glory years doing the same thing almost every day. wake up, go to work, go to sleep. that's the extent of most people's adult lives and honestly it's frightening to me.
me 2 :(

i didn't say the ending was bad, i just didn't understand it
I think it's open to interpretation, but I think
Spoiler
Paul was so in love with Jay he was pushing consistently through the movie for her to give him the thing, but she didn't want to because she cared about him more than Greg or anyone else. Finally she gives in and they have sex, but this time they're together, so even if the thing is still alive and following them, now they can BOTH deal with it, because they can both see it and they have each other

Like dawwwwwww :3
