Hey jim what do you do when you practice your guitar? I know you said you practice for hours at a time, but like what exercises do you do? whenever I play guitar I just fuck around basically with a little chord knowledge too. I am trying to learn interval ear training, so I can hear intervals in songs.
I break up the hours but I do about 4 hours a day in total including piano. I just play scales and then play songs because I play Jazz, so playing songs is practicing in itself. It depends on what your goals are.

I'm saying they didn't grow out of it as much as we did. I would go to Portugal, Italy, or France -- they all have different shit playing on the radio from us. Italy in particular was behind by several decades (and still is, in some instances). Obviously all these countries have "pop", like us. But these classic styles are still very present. Far more than the western world.

Anything pre-1970 is pretty amazing.
This guys knows whats up. I mean I'd say mid-50s to the late 80s but I can recognize taste when I see it.
It's a shame that the western audience grew out of the style. It was still maintained by a few people, but we largely moved away from it. Places like France and Italy still have this kind of music, and it's quite good.
