The hobbit was a good book. I still have the book.
It really was, which is why it deserves a better treatment than Jackson is giving it.
I think what upsets me the most about it is that the casting is great, the visuals are MOSTLY nice (they completely raped the orcs), and the basic structure of a good movie is there, but he just decided to screw with it so much. Like, in LotR, he took out Bombadil and shit. fine, that's okay, I understand editing out some thing to help with time constraint. But in The Hobbit, HE ADDED SHIT LIKE THE FEMALE ELF, TO AN ALREADY PERFECT STORY THAT DIDN'T NEED ANYTHING NEW ADDED TO IT. And then he did shit like cut the Mirkwood part into a quarter of what it is in the book, and then stretched out the rest of the movie for unnecessary reasons. I needed to vent.
