I think we're using the word "music" too generously these days.
Not just music
Art and Video Game are becoming a bit overused too
Art is whatever you want it to be. I personally think art must involve some creativity, though, so you can't just say anything is art. I'll agree with the video games thing, though.

Music is any organized noise. It doesn't matter if you like it or not. Besides, Boulez was around for a long time.

If I'm in a band and I want my m8s to be able to play my vision, I need to write it down for them. you can't just show them what to play?
It's much more convenient and professional to have sheet music for everyone.

Bullshit unless your parents raised you around music constantly as a baby.
A very small number of people have perfect pitch.
Well, yeah, they did.
If I play you a note on my piano, will you be able to tell me the pitch? If so that's a cool tool to have, but I call bullshit because that's a skill that only an insanely small number of people have.

This is not true at all.
Reading music is beneficial in any genre, though it's only truly necessary if you're a concert musician (as in you're playing concert piano performances of Rachmaninoff and Liszt) or something of the like.
It's most certainly NOT a waste of time, but it's nto necessary if your only desire is to play rock music. It will ALWAYS be beneficial, however. making anything but rock music is a waste of time, jim
Spoiler i've gotten along pretty well in concerts without knowing how to read music. yeah it'd probably be beneficial in the long run to learn. i just don't wanna, it's pretty sick to tell people that i taught myself to play X and i don't know how to read music.
But learning by ear is, for the most part, extremely easy. Learning chords by ear is harder, and learning something with a lot going on melodically is hard too, but overall it's not a great achievement. I mean I personally have never met a musician in my Jazz bands or what have you that doesn't know how to learn at least melodies by ear.

Get a tuner app and sing your notes into it
It'll tell you what notes you're humming
If your pitch is off, it'll make it hard.

reading music is a waste of time. real musicians don't have to, tbh.
like, look at someone like Video Game Pianist. The man obviously has practiced piano his entire life, but his fucking TIMING is so bad. he has no ear for the actual music, it's actually kind of embarrassing.

My struggle is with sticking to an idea and not getting distracted by a new one.
But I feel like I haven't found exactly the kind of music I want to write yet.

If there's one thing that will never work on me, it's the "you have to like this band or else you're being a meany " mentality in metal.

Dude I can't believe you didn't like as heaven turns to ash by warhorse, it's a fucking sick doom metal album.
I literally do not even remember this album. I'll have to try it again. Southern Lord turns me off, but I've been surprised before.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder, does that mean we should shame all schizophrenics and look down on them getting treatment?
Of course not. They should get treated, just like transexuals should. We should not indulge their delusions.
HRT/FFS/SRS is the treatment. People are talking about suicide in the other thread, MtFs who are treated as CIS and pass as their desired sex are 82% less likely to kill themselves.
It's allowing them to indulge in their delusions.
You could say allowing a schizophrenic to indulge in their delusions is "treatment" too.
No, because that doesn't treat it. Allowing TGs to indulge in their "delusions" does.
No, because it doesn't get rid of the delusions. They cannot change their gender, the idea that they can is a delusion. That's why so many of them still commit suicide after transitioning.
It's truly sad.
Lol, check up on you facts before you say stuff like this. A very slim percentage of TG suicides happen after a full transition; the vast majority are those who are in the closet or unable to have a support base. In terms of actually being able to change genders, that's more of a debatable topic. What matters way more than that, though, is being convincing enough to make people see you as the opposite gender. Which is more than possible if you have the right face shape and a bunch of money to spare.
Comparing one indulgence, which objectively leads to a happier life, with another indulgence that's just ignoring schizophrenia, is just retarded or a lame trolling tactic.
Trannies never look convincing, so unfortunately, they will never be able to look the way they want or reach their goals. That's why they need to be treated, no allowed to indulge in their delusions.

As someone who has experience with both of these, I can state very concretely that the two are not comparable on any level.
I don't care about your anecdotal nonsense.
