Oh, how I love these sorts of threads.

It's absolutely agonizing having to wait two years so I can leave the United States. Pretty much, my entire time spent here has been a waste. The shitty public school system I had to go through was against me, and a lot of the students there were against me as well. And anyone (namely the Psychologist in my High School) who was on my side was either shut up or forced out. Funny enough, all of the people I get along well with are other people I know who are extremely disgusted with the United States or first generation immigrants who realized it was a mistake to come here in the first place. The whole thing with the Public School (it was about 9 years) left a really bad mark on the way I see this country. And I'm not gonna spend my entire life jumping from state to state trying to find a place I like. I'd rather rid myself of this country and never have to deal with it again. So, yeah. Just a matter of time, and then I can have a fresh start to my new life as a European. :/

Yeah, I definitely know how you feel. I realized a while back that the US is pretty damn shitty in most aspects, what with a pitiful public education system, etc. Like you, I plan to move to Germany at some point, but I don't know where to start.

To sum it up nice and easily:

Social Anxiety Disorder

I lack social skills and have a hard time in social situations. I've never had close friends, just people I talk to at school. Rarely ever did anything with them  outside of school and now I don't talk to them. This as a result has caused me to be very awkward, unable to express emotions in a correct manner, and feel isolated and alone in a world full of people.

Despite being medicated, it's still difficult to live with and no matter how hard I try, I can't overcome it
I think you and I are in the same boat, Kinder.

Complain about the unfortunate circumstances in your life.

For example: Today I realized that my hopes and dreams are just delusions of grandeur, and I have very little going for me in life. I haven't gone to, or been invited to, hang out with anyone in three years, and I even have extreme difficulty socializing and reaching out to my own family.

Despite my skill in writing I hate doing it, and the only thing I really enjoy is history. German isn't going well, as I've been slacking off.

So yeah, complain.

Canada then?
Eh, I've come to the conclusion that the whole world is shitty.

I'll just reserve judgment until I get there.

I wouldn't complain. >.>
No girls like that here in Canada.
So Canadian girls have a sense of decency? I'm moving there if the whole Germany thing doesn't go to plan.

Seeing Saleem's recent thread involving one of InternetAristocrat's videos, I thought I'd share a particularly interesting (and hilarious/depressing) video with you guys, involving college level debate.

You purchased something that was free?

Yes, I did purchase it. I had to renew my PlayBox Platinum membership to get it, so I did purchase it, from a certain point of view.

Gaming / My brief review of "Dishonored"
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:19:36 PM »
"Dishonored" was recently made free for those subscribing to Microsoft's "Xbox Network Premium" service. As I had not previously played the game, I purchased it.

"Disgraced" is a first person shooter with JRPG elements. Set in a fantasized version of the middle ages, you play as the treasure hunter turned mercenary, Corpo Latino. Framed for killing the King, and engaging in (consensual) sexual relations with the Empress' daughter, Corpus must fight through hordes of Imperialist Nazis on a quest for revenge.

There are some obvious plot holes, from the very beginning. The one I will mention has to do with the "rat infection". The colony where the game is set suffers from a mysterious ailment, which the Emperor endlessly strives to cure. However, the "plague" is just a horde of mice that run around murdering people. If they want to cure it, why don't they just kill the rats?

The gameplay is mediocre, with many quick time events. Furthermore, the game is terribly inconsistent. It tells me to avoid killing people, but gives me a sword and bow and arrow? Great logic, guys.

Overall, the game is just a reskin of "Grave Robber", but with a far less interesting protagonist than Laurel Kraft.

1/10.

The Flood / Re: "German is a harsh language."
« on: August 19, 2014, 10:22:27 PM »
Again, I don't see how it's harsh. What I do see, however, is somebody deliberately making it bolded and all caps trying to make it look harsh, which is pretty fucking annoying to be honest.
This.

If you don't fucking shout, it sounds perfectly fine. Any language sounds harsh when you shout.

Especially when it's capitalized, boldened and typed in size 14 font. And next to a vibrating avatar.

That certainly contributed.

On paper it looks harsh, but when spoken it doesn't sound that bad.
