Nier is a game by Yoko Taro, one of my favouirte writers and designers, his other title, Drakengard is linked to Nier, Taro is known for making very convoluted stories and having very good detail to his characters. Automata is his next game in his universe, and he's teamed up with Platinum Games.

For anyone who wants to know about the story, heres a semi decent story that can help link the games.

Luci linked me this. Seems like something pretty interesting to keep on your radar. It looks very pretty and seems like it could nail it if they get it all right, though idk if they will.

What do you think? generic? bad? or do you reckon we'll actually get a decent survival game that will last longer than 4 weeks.

So an update and a lot to it--

Game looks solid, for alpha stage, seems to be really slow paced and quite creepy at times. I really hope they make it really good on the stealth aspect, sneaking around finding loot and surviving would be much better than running around and shooting from the hip at any other player you see A-la DayZ.

The lack of a HUD, when running and outside is nice, I like that they're really going for the realistic approach to the guns and how you handle them.

update (2017) the alpha is out and youtubers are going for it-

So the game is still on its tracks and has been updated a fair bit, people got access to early builds and are playing, linking some better youtubers who cover it;

The sounds people make when they die is scary as hell, this game is surely looking better and better and I still have hopes for it.

Reminder to people who are wondering if its 'just DayZ' there are NO zombies in this, its PVP and AI entirely.

Anyone still interested in this, it seems to be coming along rather nicely. I'll update it more when we get more details.

So, after watching a dude named Cry play this. Looked real nifty since I heard about it before.

Byrne, me and Oss watched it a bit.

And good ol' Byrne actually got it for my birthday Even though it makes me feel bad, you didnt need to do it buddy

So yeah here goes (this isn't a review, just talking about it)

Spoilers and bascially a shitty 'rundown' of the whole game.

So Asura's Wrath. Yeah, you play as that guy, You're the angriest father in the universe, you're also a Demigod. Also Robot-cyborg thing man. and you are the Sixed armed man. More arms = STRONK

Still confused on that part. Its cool though.

The game is a QTE fuck fest and its like 30fps and dropping, its the game for real men who literally piss gasoline, who also like to punch the shit out of everything.

So the start of the game, they throw you straight into a space battle, but youre just dropping through space. Firing fireballs from your hands.

Its basically the 'final push' to save the world after twelve thousand years to finally kill Vlitra. Who IS the world. Basically.... Some giant worm thingy in the planets core because Japan.

After you 'kill' it, you go home 700 years later (which is like a day for these motherfuckers) and see your wife with your daughter. Durga and Mithra. blah blah blah you get framed for killing the Emperor, get attacked by literally the whole city. Have a few low frames fight scenes.

Get killed by Dues.

Then Twelve thousands years later, you come back e.e

I'll speed up now because I'm bored.

You go on some crazy revenge plot against them and hunt for your daughter.

And some great scenes.

First boss is fat sumo. Like Fat. Sumo.

This guy was dumb as hell and fun to fight, he literally becomes bigger than the earth, he's also the easiest. Go figure.

At this point, he's in his Berserk mode. He's basically blinded by rage and loses any brain cells.

Playing as Yasha comes into play... He's getting tired of the bitch Oleg being the bitch and wants to rek her shit.

This was unexpected and really, really fun. 'Cause and Effect' was my favorite chapter because of this.

After this, Deus' plans are at the final stages, Yasha at this point just wants to end it, since the 'Cause' isnt a good one. He's fond his reason to fight back.

You fight God. This is a full-on haul fucking ass fight, you got planets getting chucked at you, ORA ORA vs MUDA MUDA. All the stuff an ending for this absurd game needs.

I absolutely loved the area here, the feel of the fight too.

So, rip Asura, easily the greatest father ever lol. The ending, I saw coming. But nevertheless, good guy.

So after that crap rundown.

This game was great. It was fun and I enjoyed it, still thank Byrne for getting me it. DESPITE THE FACT I COULD HAVE GOT IT MYSELF YOU MORON Some real stupid glitches and areas in which I had no idea how to win. Lots of fights are the same, just fight and get power then RT BOOST them.

So today I have to babysit for my sisters friend and also babysit my cousins, which means I have to baby sit a 3 year old and two 7 year olds. I can cook, I can change a diaper and I can entertain them so it should be okay, Right?...
