Where in AZ is it? I grew up in Phoenix and could probably point you in the right direction.

God of War turning into a dramatic character piece exemplifies how lacking in original ideas big game devs are today.
not sure if it's lack of ideas as much as knowing specifically what ideas "work" best

'Work' in what sense? Because I can see it working as an easy and popular way to reboot old characters , but in a narrative sense it's kind of boring and unoriginal.

Hopefully it's as effective as the new Wolfenstein games have been in doing the same thing.

tbh if the threat of MAD ever failed to prevent nuclear war and missiles were launched, I'd rather we didn't retaliate except to destroy as many launch sites as possible. I don't see the point in nuclear retaliation.

Hero, a net gain is a net gain.
That's not gaining anything, it's just losing 10 people instead of 100.

Saving 90 peeps yo
You're picking the lesser of two loses. I don't see it as a gain in any way.

Let us assume a fully grown, completely healthy Clydesdale horse has his hooves shackled to the ground while he head is held in place with thick rope. He is conscious and standing upright, but he is completely immobile. And let us assume that for some reason every political prisoner on earth (as cited by Amnesty International) will be released from captivity if you can kick this horse to death in less than twenty minutes. You are allowed to wear steel-toed boots. Would you attempt to do this?

It seems like a natural response to activist movements, such as BLM and feminism, asking that those in a position of privilege relative to the minority being advocated for ought to step aside and act more as supporters rather than outspoken leaders of said movements. Ultimately both sides are effectively asking for the disenfranchised party to possess their own agency, that absence of which is often exactly the problem. The Right's version is almost always flippant, rather than earnest.

I appreciate examples like Dark Souls, in which different/more enemies spawn, and many enemies have access to a larger moveset.

Shooters are tough though, because shooters are all pretty basic when it comes to controls and player mechanics; you aim and shoot, regardless of whether that's the Duck Hunter gun or Destiny's supers.

Also super weird that they're going straight to DkS1, and not Demon's Souls for a remaster. They definitely could have gotten away with doing both back to back and making even more money from it.

I mean TBH DkS1 is the pinnacle of the series. Souls 2 has absolute garbage PvE, 3 is just garbage throughout and Sony probably has exclusivity rights to Demon Souls and Bloodborne.

I agree that DkS1 is better than DS, but it's still a fantastic game that's actually aged pretty well and I'm sure a ton of DkS fans would love to play if it wasn't exclusively on PS3. I especially love its level design and lack of bonfires, relying solely on opening logical shortcuts.

Get a meat thermometer you can use in the oven. Preheat the oven to 375, and put a pan on the stove on medium high. Let the steak rest on the counter for a few minutes, pat dry, and lightly coat it in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Sear for two minutes each side, then put the pan in the oven with a slice of butter on the steak. Cook about 5 minutes each side, using the meat thermometer to remove the steak at 120 degrees, or 125 for more medium than rare. Put the steak aside, lightly tented with foil to rest for another few minutes. Eat.

If the steak has a big strip of fat, make cuts along the fat, pointing the knife towards the steak, and it won't curl up. Make sure you sear the fuck out of that fat strip while you sear the rest of the steak.

reports have claimed the innocent man was shot because he raised his hands, then dropped them.
What if he had a gun?

Kind of a pointless question. If I were a cop I'd rather get shot than murder an innocent person.
Sure you would.

Would you prefer to get shot, or murder somebody?
I guess it's a good thing you aren't a cop. Such a mindset would just get you killed.

I'm in the navy, and the current position is that we'd rather let a ship take a missile or a plane get shot down than wrongly kill civilians, knowing full well people may die as a result

You didn't answer the question, though.

Piggybacking off the swatting thread, reports have claimed the innocent man was shot because he raised his hands, then dropped them. Maybe some legal experts need to chime in here, but where are the laws saying I need to do what police say, even on my own property, and if I don't I can be justifiably shot?

I completely understand police are charged with giving lawful orders and they have to be obeyed; I'm talking about their ability to shoot or kill you for not doing so.
