Either way, "man" and "woman" have separate etymologies and it's pure coincidence that they are similar.
i thought it was an "every fruit is an apple" type situation
I'm not really sure what that means.

Initial reviews are claiming the game is actually pretty tough (Polygon says it's the hardest Zelda game period) -- further cementing my belief that Dark Souls is just a gloomy take on the Zelda formula. But it's also really exciting, because as much as I enjoyed Majora's Mask, I thought it was unforgivably easy (the combat, not the puzzles).

Trailer seems kind of fan fictiony. They should establish a parallel universe or something out of respect for Tolkein and his work.
Yeah I was gonna ask if any of this is canon at all. I haven't read the series, but it seems like it's entirely non-canon except for the role of Celebrimbor.
Does that even need to be explicitly confirmed at this point? It's pretty obviously noncanon at this point
I'm asking fans of the series. For all I know, Talion exists somewhere in some obscure portion of the Silmarillion.

really wanted kubo over zootopia
Kubo and the Two Tickets Sold But yeah, pretty shocking disappointing that such a beautiful stop-motion film would lose out to Generic High Quality Animated Feature #4 (though it was really good).

In addition to the standard version of the game, a Gold Edition will also apparently be available. Here's what that includes, based on the description:
Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion Gold War Chest Over $125 in total value The two Nemesis expansions feature "a new Orc Tribe featuring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, Fortress, and wilderness updates, and a Mythic Gear Set." The story expansions, meanwhile, have "a new campaign, playable character, and abilities, side missions, enemies, allies, and more."

Shit man. I had my dog put to sleep this morning, it sucks.
Hope he gets better.
what the fuck
who cursed all the doggos today
I don't know. She had a stroke or something while coming down stairs and her legs just gave way and then she couldn't walk properly.
She's been degrading for a while now but it just happened really quickly. It's really fucked my day up today.
Really sorry to hear that.

Hey that's really neat, but I'd like them to make a game that's worth playing, first.
H5 didn't have splitscreen, and that alone gave it about +80% of the flak that it received. I guess people are really hardcore about classic couch multiplayer making a comeback.
It's why I stopped playing it after my first playthrough and all of 15 minutes of multiplayer. I hadn't seen the news that they had scrapped the feature, so when I turned it on the first time and sat down to run through it with my wife (not really big on FPS but still likes co-op), I was pretty shocked that splitscreen wasn't available. I'm really glad to see it back.

He's been sick for three weeks, has barely eaten or had water, been in and out of the vet office with tests and fluids administered. He went to the hospital today and they're testing protein levels in his blood; if they're too low, the doctor doesn't expect him to recover. I'll find out in about an hour. Pic in spoiler because it's big:

We gonna ignore the part where Bonnie discussed Halo's story?
She also discussed the studio's approach to storytelling going forward, saying, "while we love our transmedia, sometimes I do think we tell a little bit too much story in our games." So, with future Halo titles, Ross said 343 plans to keep the game stories simpler and use transmedia to tell the deeper narratives. Thank god. Bungie's Halo was far too complex for my tiny brain to understand.

It's okay. Kinda of boring to watch a guy that can't be injured fight street thugs, and they used the most generic plot device of not-kryptonite to hurt him for one episode. But they say nigga a lot and talk about what it means to be an inner city black man so I guess it subverts typical Marvel fare.

If anything, it's uncharacteristically progressive with how women are treated in the world. It's clearly not meant to convey our history's gender roles.

So they got those flashlight thingies and jedi powers of mind control, and they can move things, so they're telekinetic and they hover on their jet saucers over molten lava, and they can jump and fly like they're in Cirque du Soleil™. But what gives one jedi knight the edge over the other, huh? The ultimate advantage? They stand on a mound of dirt and declare, "you can't win. I've got the high ground." He's four feet up a little slope! And that wipes out the others guys' powers to fly, jump around, move things round with his brain, use his flashlight thingy?
This has been buggin' me.
All the other guy has to do is scurry up the hill and run up a bit, and then HE has the high ground. They can fly jet pods but they can't scurry?

I suppose I could look it up in 10 seconds on Google, but what even is this game? I haven't seen anything about it other than its name.
I'm sure you have. Did you watch Sony's E3 last year, or the year before?
It does have a super generic name, but it looks splendid.
I missed most of E3 and I think I skipped its trailer because of its name. It looks fantastic, and I'll probably end up buying it after finishing BotW. This might sound dumb, but I vaguely remember some sort of controversy about the protagonist not being a sexy, doe-eyed bimbo. Was that a thing?

On the left is the desktop front page, with blue icons showing when there unread posts in each board. On the right is the mobile dropdown menu . It would be really cool to have those icons or something else showing unread posts on the mobile menu. Any chance of that?
