It seems from the 2001 study you linked that savings are decreasing with the rise of welfare because, as welfare programs increase, equity limits are being relaxed, allowing people to spend more on vehicle assets (i.e., dumping more money into their cars).

Though the significance level was high, the actual effect seemed to be relatively marginal.

Of course you can just link to the previous thread. Having the related thread linked at the top of the original thread was what made it a good feature. It was just formatted more smoother than adding links yourself.

That's a dubious conclusion. Was there any hypothesis testing in this research, or just a graph?

Is the game gold yet? I wonder if they'll attempt to get the rating lower.

if the universe really is infinite, then somewhere real fucking far away there is an exact replica of you living on an exact replica of earth reading this exact same thread

I just want to point out that just because something's infinite doesn't mean there exists all possible combinations of events. For instance, an infinite string of numbers, such as pi, by no means contains all combinations of numbers.
The figures that show up in pi aren't correlated. The relative positions of the particles that make up matter(stars, planets, people) are correlated through the fundamental forces, doesn't that make that comparison misleading?

In retrospect it's a pretty poor comparison, but the point still stands that infinite space doesn't imply an infinite, or any, number of copies of any person, place, or thing.

I think the notification for quotes is genius, but this seemed like a pretty useful function back on B.net that I'm surprised hasn't made its way here.

I thought it was speculated the universe's expansion rate was faster than the speed of light?

Yeah, it totally is. The physical bodies aren't actually moving at a velocity faster than light, but space is expanding so fast that it appears that objects are moving that quickly. Like drawing two dots on either side of a balloon, inflating it, and saying that the points aren't moving, but the space they're on is expanding.

Typically you need under 10% to see decent definition. I wouldn't use a six pack as a fitness goal.

For core exercises, try v-ups, russian twists, leg levers, and side planks.

Because at some point, some idiot will end up coming in like LOL UNIVERSE IS 6000 YEARS OLD SCIENCE A SHIT

This has literally nothing to do with what I said. My post has nothing to do with religion. The problem of vacuum energy is a really interesting discussion, and you just disregarded it because you assumed it was theological.

OT: Another interesting fact: Observed from any point in space, the rest of the universe appears to be expanding away from that point. Pic for example:

Also, if you're a believer in the multiverse theory, then the formation of a universe that can support life is a mathmatical certainty.

First of all, that's simply not true. Even an infinite number of alternate universes doesn't imply the expression of all possible configurations. And no, I don't "believe" in multiverse theory because there's no evidence to support it. It's largely fantasy and fun speculation right now. String theory is a joke.

It's about as likely as an all knwing god. Or precursorsalien life making everything.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. Why are you criticizing my original post?

Post results. I don't see any problem with using focus-enhancing drugs, nor do a see an issue with recreational steroids or other supplements. Do what it takes to get you where you want, and if it's not abuse of prescription then it's fair game.
I will post results but you're comparing harmless herbs to steroid use

I'm not comparing them. I said I have no problem with using focus enhancing drugs, nor do I have a problem with steroids. If anything I'm lumping them into a category of drug-based performance enhancement.

The cosmological constant of the universe is precisely fine-tuned to not only the capability of life to form, but for the universe to have not collapsed immediately after the Big Bang, to the scale of 120 orders of magnitude, and that there is nothing close to an explanation for this.

Please don't start trying to ruin what is currently an amazing thread.

If you've got a solution to the problem of the cosmological constant, I'm sure the entire physics community would appreciate you letting them in on it.

All I've got is Destiny and MCC, and I don't play either anymore. I missed out on Fall releases because of graduating and stuff, so give me some opinions of what was worth getting, for the console at least.

To start, Lords of the Fallen looks pretty fun.

Do you ever feel like some political bullshit is just so deeply ingrained that it's impossible to fix? This is how I feel about gerrymandering. I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to go about fairly distributing districts.

Which is the problem. It should be. But until it's decided that people are supposed to earn a living wage by working before profit (fat chance), then unfortunately, I guess tht's how it is.

Well yeah, we can go on and on about how things should be, but the fact remains that tips are expected.
