No, he left before the battle commenced. He thought the thing was a bad idea to begin with, and he was right.
Half the reason he's promoted is because Palpatone wants to screw with Vader
To be fair, if the laser guy had pressed the button like half a second sooner, they would have annihilated the rebel alliance. Tarkin was an arrogant asshole, but apparently the Death Star was a good enough idea that Palpatine had another one built.

I really don't get why conservatives hate the use of vetoes.
I mean, vetoes are a good thing, they temper the excesses of the legislature; the two biggest vetoers post-Kennedy were Ford and Reagan. I'd criticise Obama for not using the veto enough.

My diet fairly consistently for the past couple weeks:
Morning:
1 cup grits/oatmeal, or whole wheat bagel
3-4 eggs, at least 2 w/out yolks
1 banana or 1 cup greek yogurt
Afternoon:
-10 whole wheat crackers
-1 can tuna
-1/4th cup grated cheese
-Extra can of tuna if hungry after morning exercise
Evening
-Chicken breast
-Up to 1 cup brown rice
-2 servings of green vegetable: asparagus, brussel sprouts, broccoli, or spinach
Snacks are tuna, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, or protein powder in water. Depends on what I've done that day.

Lions Gate has made far more than just Hunger Games movies. I doubt this has anything to do with THG specifically, though I think there'd be a lot of potential for games. You're just as likely to see Divergent games.
