I did it in Morrowind to try out the glitch, but in general I don't see a point in a speed run, though I understand why others are interested in them.

Gonna be honest, I'd be pretty put-off to see a woman (female, excuse me) changing in the men's locker room at the gym, even if that person claimed to be trans. But c'mon, have some decency. I can't imagine how much she was bitching if it was bad enough for management to revoke her membership, and if it was such an issue, she should have taken her business elsewhere.

Just looking over a few examples in the article, they were all instances of people disclosing that information on behalf of another, such a legal adviser or medical representative -- which is kind of shocking in itself, given their responsibility to protect that information. On a whole I think it's an egg in his face, but not particularly damaging or dramatic to his campaign. Also, I wasn't aware of his publication of his email address to get closer to his constituents -- that's pretty commendable, in my opinion. Sounds like his good intentions were muddied by a careless staff member. 6519

Addressing the title, are you saying you're not a feminist because women are already equal in western societies? I think there are a lot of other factors besides the wage gap, which I agree has been thoroughly rebutted in many respected publications.

The Flood / Re: It's ogre. GRRM sold out. GoT will now spoil the books.« on: March 24, 2015, 01:13:47 PM »
Well yeah, obviously. We've known this since the series started. There's no way they could delay the show to let the books trickle out. The producers know the ending, and I think we'll see it long before it's written in the books.

Well JJ Abrams fucked up Star Trek, so I'm hesitant about Star Wars. Obviously it'll be a good movie, but whether it'll be true to the series is another question. I think your interpretation of the trailer is way off though.

I think there's a pretty large counter-culture in gaming specifically seeing to avoid metas. Just look at Dark Souls, or really any sandbox game that lets you screw with builds. In a competitive atmosphere, it just makes sense to follow strategies.

Gaming / Re: Bullshit things in games?« on: March 23, 2015, 10:31:04 AM »
OT: Tons of useless loot. Maybe because I'm in the middle of DA:I, but in most modern RPGs, especially loot-based and dungeon crawlers, there's just too much superfluous loot. Yeah, chests and materials encourage you to explore the environment, but if the only reason an area exists is to hold a random piece of loot, then it's a waste of space. Inventories filled with dozens of useless weapons and junk to be sold. Having to sort through inventory screens really screws up immersion, and I've never felt I've lost anything when a sequel streamlines the process.
Far Cry 2 did this really well with no menu screens at all. Even the map was in-game. 6532
Gaming / Re: Bullshit things in games?« on: March 23, 2015, 10:20:28 AM »-Day One Patches: I remember a time when games were finished... The attitude of "ship now, patch later" is out of control. We are having day one patches of 5gb and up! And in some cases, those patches cause more problems than they fix. AC Unity is the prime example of this problem. Due to either the publisher pushing the game out of the door and not listening to "hey this is broken!" is one, or they just did not do ANY QA testing. Pubs like Paradox Interacting is an example of pushing out games before they're ready. But thankfully they are changing for the better! I'm totally fine with day-one patches. With the ridiculous development schedules these days, it's good to know that devs can continue fine-tuning the game after it's gone gold. 6533
