12 years later. American boots on the ground. Um...
So when you write a to-do list, after checking off the first item, do you say you're done and call it a day? It would have been obscenely irresponsible to destroy Saddam's regime and then subsequently pull out. I guarantee the condition of the Middle East would be far worse today if that had happened.

But I could go on and on about half-truths. *cough*
That's kind of irrelevant to what you're talking about though, isn't it?
One could just as easily throw out statistics of people that didn't realize Iraq had WMDs at all. Hell, it's still a widespread belief that it was just a fabricated excuse to go to war, despite the use of chemical weapons being a decade-long conflict with Iraq.
But it was a fabricated excuse. The pretense was that Iraq had an active WMD program. That was proven to be false. The mission supposedly ended, but that was false, too.
Haha, seriously? The successful mission accomplishment was false? The coalition absolutely steamrolled through Iraq and was very successful in its mission of toppling Saddam's regime. That's what that speech was about. It wasn't saying the entire war was over, just the first mission. And that brings up another point: The first objective of the war was to oust Saddam. It was not to stop a weapons program, it was to get him out. Stopping a potentially active weapons program was one of the objectives, but it wasn't the first, and it wasn't the sole reason for the invasion. By and large the ultimate goal was to address the humanitarian problems in the country.

Hell, it's still a widespread belief that it was just a fabricated excuse to go to war, despite the use of chemical weapons being a decade-long conflict with Iraq. Was Saddam actively manufacturing chemical weapons when we invaded? Of course not. Years of threatening invasion and UN inspections gave him plenty of time to end the operation and cover up evidence.

But the act of satirizing the republican party takes a decent bit of intelligence... otherwise we'd actually be republicans.

OP took the joke threads seriously.
It's not even funny. How can anyone joke about this?
When you're too dumb to think of something that's actually clever, just resort to saying offensive stuff at random. Here, I'll show you: Cheat is a nigger! Faggots burn in hell. Women deserve to be raped. You see OP, it's not about saying something actually funny, it's about saying obscene things and giggling about it like grade-schoolers saying swear words. And if you take offense to it, then you just got trolled.

It's also important to recognize that we weren't just inserting ourselves into another country's sovereignty. Saddam controlled a huge amount the world's oil, and the Straight of Hormuz is one of the most important trade routes in the world. Any aggressive act on his part could have crippled the world economy, or held it hostage. It would have been absolutely unacceptable to let Saddam's regime stay in power.

It's not intolerant for Muslim-owned restaurants to not serve pork, so in this ever-present example of a bakery not making wedding cakes for gay couples, I don't see why they have an obligation to provide a service they don't want to provide.
That's a really poor analogy though. A better one would be for the Muslim-owned restaurant choosing not to serve anything to Christians and deny them service for the sole reason that the Christians follow a different religion.
It's not about refusing service because they're gay (or Christian), it's about refusing to perform services which directly conflict with personal beliefs. In this case, they don't support gay marriage, so they refuse to make a cake for one. If a gay couple walked in and asked for a birthday cake, it wouldn't be an issue. In the Muslim example, it would be like refusing to cater a Catholic Confirmation or something like that. This kind of highlights the problem. Conservatives defend it because they recognize that it's not about discriminating against gay people, it's about not being compelled to participate in actions that conflict with their convictions. On the other side, Liberals can't recognize this and assume it's all about hating gays.

Good thing it wasn't in America, that shoplifter would've shot you and raped your corpse, then strolled off to the polls to vote Republican.

The horse may die, but at least it'll have a genetic lineage and continue the survival of the species, so really, the horse wins in the long-run.
What a noble horse

Let them refuse service. People have a right to publicly defame them, as is happening now, and drive them out of business. At the end of the day, though, I would feel very uncomfortable as a customer asking a businessman to do something that conflicted with their moral or religious convictions. It's not intolerant for Muslim-owned restaurants to not serve pork, so in this ever-present example of a bakery not making wedding cakes for gay couples, I don't see why they have an obligation to provide a service they don't want to provide.

Switch genres. Try something like DA:I or Shadow of Mordor.

Fire is on stuff either, it's just an exothermic oxidation reaction that produces plasma.

This is satirical. . .right?
It would've been really good satire, too. Like a modern 'Modest Proposal'.

Hmm. I say go for an AT-4 or a Sig Sauer p.380
I'm guessing I have the names mixed up but isn't an AT-4 some sort of rocket launcher? .-.
Yep. I'm sure it would turn a few heads at the range.

So I've decided to invoke the ancient American rite of gun ownership, and I've narrowed it down to a few candidates: Mk-19 Automatic Grenade Launcher CIWS (Close-In Weapon System) Ruger SR9 Compact Obviously this is just to hold me over until the Navy finally finishes their railgun. I'm leaning towards the grenade launcher, for now. Thoughts?

No, rape is not normalized in our society. An increase in reporting is a good thing, and is indicative of a culture that doesn't accept or normalize rape.

For starters, they all seem to share the same leg designs, with large thick limbs and circular joints. The problem with that is there appear to only be about 3-4 joints per limb, each of which bend all on the same plane. If the terrain was uneven there's no way it would be able to maintain it's balance, negating the point of even having legs.
Even worse, there doesn't even seem to be any room for the joints to rotate sideways, it shouldn't even be able to turn!
They're definitely not as maneuverable as Armored Core mechs, but I think that adds to their realism. They're more like walking siege engines or tanks, not giant mech suits that mimic human movement. The inverse-square law pretty much rules out these anthropomorphic suits as possible, let alone functional. But they're definitely capable of dealing with rough terrain, and a minimum of rotating and moving parts just makes them better protected from damage. Loss of a single joint in a mech suit could cripple it.
