there's more i could do and a lot i could do to fix my existing ideas, but there's a serious problem with politicians being in the pockets of big money, and we have to address it.
Definitely. I would like to see all donations go into a pool to be allocated equally, but I'm not really sure how that would look, and I think it would reduce the amount of donations (though the government could subsidize it). Or maybe pool all of them, but give the candidates a percentage of each one donated in their name or party. For example, if I donated $1,000 to Clinton, she would get, say, 10% of that, then the rest would be sent to the pool. If there were 4 democratic candidates, then she would get the 10%, plus 25% of that remaining 90%, so $325, whereas the other democratic candidates would get $225 each. If Clinton wasn't chosen as the candidate, all of her remaining funds would be put back into the primary candidates' pool and the process would renew.

dont twist my words around. it's wrong for political action committees and lobbyists to donate disproportionately large sums of money to the politicians of their choice because it weakens the ability of the common man to influence the races and it incentivizes the politicians to ignore the common will in favor of the will of the power elite.
dont play coy with me. its unbecoming.
I'm not twisting your words around; I'm asking you to justify your statement. How does a massive donation influence the common man's ability to influence the races? It doesn't change the voting power of each individual. How would you regulate campaign finances if you had the power to do so?

But when Obama does it, it's okay.
no it wasnt.
Why not?
you know good and god damn well why not.
Nope. I'd like you to articulate why it's wrong for people to spend money on campaigns.

Typically not in that order.

I thought Sue Storm was adopted in this version?
The director hasn't said anything certain. Either they're a biracial family or Sue's adopted.

I really don't see a logical reason to cast him. Surely they knew this would happen. It doens't add to the story, it causes confusion about their family, and it caused backlash. They gained nothing from it.
To be fair, they get to use this guy (below) as Franklin Storm, and he's an awesome actor (though for some reason now their dad is some awesome scientist, and all the team members look like teenagers).

So the dad is black and the mom is white, but the son is black and the daughter is white?
I assume so. I don't know who's playing the mother. They could've just had him adopted, too.

One that I find is particularly pervasive is Argumentum ad Ignorantiam, or an argument from ignorance, which leads to the unquenchable skepticism that you see a lot of people expound these days.
And conversely, you can also see a vapid, shameless reliance on anything qualified by a 'scientist'. e.g., 'Science proves x' or 'Scientists claim y'.

Is your child sexting? Getting stalked by predators on Yugioh chatrooms? Going to the Hooters website? Well then you need Spector Pro. You can spy on everything your child does online, including all the shitty porn sites he goes to because he doesn't know how to find the good stuff. I'm happy knowing that I'm safe from all the memes and child predation of the internet.

They need to get the fucking border secured, for starters. It's all well and good to say Iraq and Syria need to fight their own battles, but a steady flow of supplies and arms into Iraqi cities controlled by ISIS coupled with Iraq's poorly-trained and ill-equipped army means that strategy will ultimately see Iraq swallowed by ISIS, used as a staging ground against the Syrian front.
We need more SOF teams, more airstrikes, and boots on the ground. Hesitancy to deploy troops because of an upcoming campaign is holding back progress.
That's a pretty tall order when the Syrian and Iraqi Government control literally none of their borders with eachother. And the Syrian/Iraqi Armies are similarly poorly-trained and ill-equipped. But on the other hand, IS doesn't have the manpower, mobility, or resources needed to take either Baghdad or Damascus in the foreseeable future.
Well yeah it's a tall order, but control of the border should never have been allowed to degrade so far. Stopping insurgencies is very difficult with conventional tactics, but cutting off supply lines is an effective start.

Well then couldn't you just buy an important GameCube? Unless you're absolutely dead-set on doing it on your Wii. Modding it sounds far easier, though. I even tried the whole "start" and "eject disk" at the same time and I couldn't get it to work.
Instructions I read said to hit start a second or so after hitting eject. Maybe try that pause?

Without moding my wii love. Thank you though.
I think I just found a door through smash bros brawl that lets me play region-locked games, but it keeps glitching out and I can't figure it out fully.
It's an emulator for your PC. You can download any GC game you want and play it there without using the Wii, and I imagine those include region-locked games.

Also, I secretly love Green Day despite acknowledging how uncreative and tryhard-egdy their music is.
American Idiot is my greatest guilty pleasure. The album in it's entirety, I mean. I jut really love the story of it.
Homecoming is one of my favorite songs of all time. Saying this feels like I'm confessing at an AA meeting.

I just listen to street dudes that rap because that's what I relate to the most. Ones that actually rap about what really goes on, not that bullshit party music and posturing crap. That's hip hop to me.
Me too. I don't really know any good black underground rappers/hip hop artists, so feel free to post some. Blue Scholars, Common Market, and Atmosphere are rap about poverty and class oppression and all that, and Brother Ali is a very militant left-wing rapper that frequently shits on the government and military.

The Killers Johnny Cash RHCP Mumford and Sons Sufjan Stevens 👍
Not including any classical, instrumental, or jazzy artists nobody here would know about.
Fucking try me motherfucker
(Post-edit) I already know you hate my hip hop favorites, but they're Blue Scholars, Common Market, Atmosphere, and Brother Ali. Classical includes Nico Muhly, Burgstaller Martignon 4, and Yo-Yo Ma to name a few. Of the classical composers, Bach and Handel are my favorites.

killing is bad though
if you're better at doing something bad, then that just makes it even worse, doesn't it
I'm gonna use Star Trek for perspective. In one episode, 'A Taste of Armageddon', they encounter a world that has transcended conventional warfare and now does simulated war, in which a global computer system monitored by both factions generates "attacks" and designates random citizens to be painlessly executed. They chose this because they saw it as a more efficient and less cruel form of war, which they thought of as necessary and inherent to the species. Here's a clip of Kirk and friends destroying that system and his subsequent speech: It's not really a counter to your claim, but I think it's interesting to think about when discussing the "efficiency" of war.

Absolutely, and we're seeing a dramatic decrease in deaths per capita due to war and murder.

So there's been a bit of backlash against the black actor being cast as a character that has always been white. His family is white in all iterations of the comic, and is white in all iterations of shows and films. In the film, Franklin Storm is black, and his wife is presumably white. Sue Storm is very fair-skinned, Johnny is very dark-skinned. Whatever. Genetics and stuff. Here's his response: “Sometimes you have to be the person who stands up and says, ‘I’ll be the one to shoulder all this hate. I’ll take the brunt for the next couple of generations.’ I put that responsibility on myself. People are always going to see each other in terms of race, but maybe in the future we won’t talk about it as much.” I'm sure there really are racists out there that oppose black people being cast as anything, but it doesn't seem like the issue is with Jordan being black, but the characters significantly diverging from the past. I personally don't care (if I recall, Nick Fury was originally white and nobody had an issue with Sam Jackson filling the role), and I think he'll do really well in the role, but I think he's being a bit dramatic about the racism of the situation.
