Splitscreen on consoles is great, splitscreen on PC is a pointless clusterfuck. Kind of a non-issue there.

As for Y-wings, aren't they just bomber X-wings?

Yeah, they're slow as fuck and are only used to bomb stuff. They filled a role in space battles, but kinda sucked in ground maps.

Gayniggers from Outer Space

Capt. B. Dick: I know you're afraid ArmInAss, but my son- this is just step on the long road to becoming a GayNigger.
Capt. B. Dick: It started when you're father gave birth to you... and who knows, maybe after this mission, you'll get the sign of the brown ring- and can truly call yourself a GayNigger.
Capt. B. Dick: And that's what you've been preparing for since you went to GayAgent School.
ArmInAss: You really think so sir?

Holy shit, this is amazing.

corporations can be sued and taxed
Just as a minor digression, this doesn't seem like a good thing.

We know taxing corporations is a pretty awful idea, and I imagine suing them isn't as effective as suing the executives/shareholders.

Yeah, I was pointing it out because liberals often cite corporate personhood as a shady backdoor deal between big business and Congress when in reality it was a fairly liberal decision. Quite a large attraction of incorporation is the protection it grants individuals to risk their money and the investors' money.

I just have a lot of trepidation about abortion clinics seemingly providing an apparently justified reason to use their service for mothers on the fence (i.e., if a mother is debating whether to do it, but feels more justified in doing so because it seems like it's beneficial for science). I'm not sure if I'm articulating it well.
I understand what you mean, and if I'm not mistaken, you're rather against abortion in like, 98% of cases, so I can totally see the logic.

I can't say that I agree though.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep that separate from this. As long as the mother isn't profiting off of it, I think it's fine. If the clinic is also profiting off of it (which they don't appear to be), I'd say there's a worrying conflict of interest.

Spoiler

So this is on Reddit's frontpage right now, and I just want to point out a few things. At first I thought this was a joke because of how simple-minded it is, with two people seemingly discussing the reason that corporations are given the rights of citizens -- and that reason is, obviously, that corporations are comprised of people who do not lose their rights simply because they've entered into business together. So a few big things "corporate personhood" (clearly I think this label is a huge misnomer) gives them: corporations can be sued and taxed, and they also can't be censored unfairly. Stuff it doesn't give them: the right to donate to campaigns. That's from a separate court ruling from the case Citizens United v. The FEC, which doesn't pertain to corporate personhood in the slightest. And even if corporations couldn't directly donate, then the shareholders could just give themselves the money and spend it themselves, which I presume would be private information; I think I'd prefer to make it transparent and have the corporations do it. There's also quite a bit of irony (hypocrisy?) in Ben and Jerry using their corporate name in a political setting to advocate against the right of corporations to speak and donate in the realm of politics.

In health care, patients sometimes want to donate tissue to scientific research that can help lead to medical breakthroughs, such as treatments and cures for serious diseases. Women at Planned Parenthood who have abortions are no different. At several of our health centers, we help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research, and we do this just like every other high-quality health care provider does — with full, appropriate consent from patients and under the highest ethical and legal standards.

This is still super fucking sketchy. I get the argument for bodily autonomy and all that, but does a mother really have a right to donate the fetus's organs? The mother isn't the patient in question -- those tissues aren't hers. You can't get consent from a fetus, and it's a bit of a stretch to say the mother is acting in a medical proxy capacity.
I can't see it as any different than any decision made about a live child's health by the parents. A comparison to the ever popular circumcision debates of Bungie comes to mind.

Well it's different in the sense that medical proxies are bound by regulations which preclude operations like abortion which terminate the patient's life without any medical reason (i.e., artificial life support). Clearly fetuses aren't classified as patients (because they're not 'people', legally), but on the other hand those tissues don't belong to the mother like her own tissues nor like her property. She presumably can't just take the fetus home with her. It's apparently a common practice to ship aborted fetuses to research facilities, but I'm just confused about who has the authority to determine what happens to them.

I wish we'd go back to "e pluribus unum" because it seems to represent our country much better, but "In God We Trust" is such a generalized statement that claiming it's specifically Christian (rather than of any Judeo-Christian worldview, or more ambiguous theism/deism as many of the founding fathers were) is difficult to justify today.

I've also interpreted it as a tongue-in-cheek reference to American exceptionalism using the word 'trust' in an economic sense.

The new file is about 1.4Mb, 120x 120. If you implement a smaller file size, I'll change it, but I've used larger gifs without complaint.

30kb for a decent gif? Yeah, no. I took the image down and I'll work on it tomorrow.

Cheat, isn't your bandwidth only used for images hosted on this site? It's an imgur link, so I was under the impression every time it's seen here it's using Imgur's bandwidth.
External images don't cost us bandwidth, but it's still kind of shitty to have a huge avatar, as it will take that much longer to render on a page.

Unless people here deliberately disable browser caching, it isn't loading every time, just once until the cache is cleared. But I didn't realize it was so massive and I completely understand why it's got to go. My bad.

The pixels ruin the smoothness. I'll make a smaller file tomorrow. Cheat, what file size do you consider acceptable?
