Jason Todd was not beaten to death he was beaten before dying but he also got blown up which is the cause of death. It would make no sense for Todd to be the Joker it makes sense in no part of DC's lore.
It makes quite a bit of sense since the central theme of Batman's comics is a hero's descent into villainy; classically, Joker, Harley, Dent, Scarecrow, and Poison Ivy (and many other minor villains) were all normal people that were victims of tragedies that turned them insane. Just because it hasn't been done in the comics before doesn't mean it can't happen (and the fact that it hasn't been done like this is all the more reason to do so).
It makes no sense in the lore
So are we just disregarding my post? Is that what we're doing here? Because it works with the "lore", not that any of the comic book plots have any impact on the movie's story.

tl;dr if you're not familiar with Batman:
There are several different 'Robins' under Batman's tutelage: Dick Grayson, who leaves and becomes Nightwing in some arcs. The next one is Jason Todd, who was famously beaten to death by the Joker in several iterations, namely the comic Death in the Family, Batman: Under the Red Hood, and though it was Tim Drake instead of Jason Todd, it happens again in Batman Beyond.
The point is that there's a running theme of the Joker brutally murdering Robin, who then later reappears as a psychologically broken villain in some form or another. We know that Suicide Squad will be in the DC cinematic universe, meaning that canonically Suicide Squad happens either before or concurrently with Batman vs. Superman. In the DoJ trailer we see Robin's suit covered in taunts from the Joker, and similar other messages. It would also help explain why this Joker looks less like other iterations of the Joker and more like some psycho trying to imitate the persona. And it's also a motivation for Bruce to retire as Batman...maybe he even killed the previous Joker (another recurring theme).
I have no idea how the relationship between Harley and the Joker would be explained, but it seems like the Joker is an antagonist in the film, potentially working against the Suicide Squad rather than with them. Anyway, it's probably not true, but it's fun to imagine the possibilities.

Trump was a draft dodger wasn't he?
It was for academic reasons (which is legitimate), but it's pretty shitty to insult a POW after getting out of serving.

CHIVAS REGAL FOUNDED 1801 BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKEY right on the fucking label
Scotch and Whiskey should not be used together in a sentence.
Scotch is type of whiskey, though. Americans call it Scotch. We call it malt whiskey, the correct terminology.
It's called scotch because it's malt whisky made in Scotland. If it's malt whisky made anywhere else, it's not scotch. Kind of like how bourbon is American, but made elsewhere it's just a corn-based grain whiskey.
Whiskey not made in Scotland isnae whiskey ya bawbag.

OT: I prefer single malt highland scotches. Fun fact: since whiskey doesn't age in the bottle, the fact that it's from 1971 means very little.
But then again, I'm buzzed on cheap bourbon so I don't really have room to criticize.
Yea but like, it's the oldest thing that's been inside of me.
Oh, so you mainly stick to younger guys?

Father John Misty's new album is pretty great. And I've been listening to a lot of Brandon Flowers' new album, too, even though it kinda sucks.

I think it's because Marvel so far has failed to deliver any good villains. The heroes are great, and they're very well-developed, but you can't match the Bale/Ledger combo. The only thing that could hold a candle to that relationship is Loki in Avengers.
Iron Man 3 had a shot, but they killed it with the lame Mandarin twist.

Anyone have extremely conclusive and compelling arguments I can regurgitate to the local feminists on-hand?
It's pretty much impossible to convince someone that feels like a victim that they aren't one.

Assassins Creed 1 and 2 are quite honestly the least fun games that I've ever dragged myself halfway through before just giving up. Then I read all the tin foil shit and Desmond killing God in 3 or brotherhood or whenever and I was just like... fuck this series is dumb.
AC2 is fun af.
AC2, AC:B and ACIV are all good.
AC2 was just AC1 with more stupid clothes and TWO BLADES!!!!!!!

Verbatim, it's not about us being fanboys of Dark Souls (well, I am).
But you can't just say a game sucks because you don't like it. Honestly, I couldn't care less that you dislike it. No game is universally liked.
But you act like your opinion is a fact because people can invade your world or leave messages that could end in you being killed. Well, you can also summon backup. You can also leave messages that help people, which tend to be the majority of the messages you find. I remember I was still kind of in the beginning and had just barely survived a long ass battle, and a message saying "beware up" and another one saying "magic up" saved my life.
So no, it's not a bad game. At all. Just the fact that tons of people like it and play it proves that. But further is that while you can be tricked and invaded, you can also receive a lot of help. And that makes it balanced. That makes it fair.
I hope this doesn't turn into another everybody vs. Verbatim Dark Souls thread, but I can add to this. First of all, despite there being really no way to communicate with players beyond emotes and random messages, there's still a lot of etiquette in invasions and duels, and players get rewarded for placing helpful or funny messages that people "upvote". The community is great. There are griefers, but they tend to get shit on by everyone else.

The idea of publishing pay data is retarded anyway. I have no idea where it came from. Surely even feminists don't believe women are being paid less, while in the same position at the same company, relative to a man?
Of course they believe this. Typical corporate pigs sitting in their high-back leather chairs, twirling their mustaches and cackling as they process new-hire paperwork for a female employee, stamping her payroll sheets with the 'PAY AT 77% MEN'S RATE' stamp (large, bold, red letters; you know what I'm talking about). His assistant (a thin, hunchbacked man with a bad comb-over and pale skin) takes it down to HR, and hands it to the (female) HR reps and slaps the ass of each one on his way out the door, while they all dutifully but somberly get back to work. Every day at 12:00 PM, they play James Brown's 'It's a Man's World' over the intercom to remind all employees of their place.

I do a lot of endurance sports like triathlons, so I'd hate to lose a leg, but their function is more easily replicated in modern prosthetics than a hand, so I'd say either one of my legs.

I feel like this would piss a lot of conservatives off
Conservatives would rape their own mother if a prominent figure in their party said it was an old tradition being stamped out by liberals.

vs. Ghost Rider as played by Nic Cage, of course. Captain Planet has all the Planeteers. Batman does not exist and has no prep time. Soviet Russia has been dissolved by the time these events occur.

i don't hate it, but i'm not in LOVE with aLBW... like, i just don't like the non-linear way of getting items. one of my big reasons why i like zelda games is anticipating what item you're gonna get in the dungeon. sure, it's obvious sometimes, but it still feels like i'm really exploring/adventuring, 'ya know what i mean?
That bugged me, too. I really like the feeling of progress you get in the traditional, linear games. The upgrades were kind of cool, but I had all the equipment with all the useful upgrades halfway through, which meant that I was just trudging through dungeons (which were actually really well-designed) to get to the end of the game. I'm hoping they tweak the upcoming open-world Zelda game to address that.

Maybe, but the Deathclaw was shown multiple times, and part of the same mission was shown at E3. Well, it just shows that Fallout 4 is quite scripted, I do wonder if there's any choice in approach in the mission, or it's going to be more "on rails" kind of thing. However, it's just showing one of the early game missions, so it might be wrong to assume something like that.
I think the laser musket (or whatever it was) hasn't been seen, and the power armored fight with the deathclaw is fairly new. Both are pretty cool.
Yeah, well all the previous tutorials (which I presume this mission is) have been pretty scripted. I have no doubt that you have the option to walk away from the town and go do whatever you want, though. Given the strength of the power armor, I think those moments will have to be somewhat scripted to give you a different experience.

“What is the optimal temperature for the Earth? Is it the temperature we have right now? That would be a miracle.” he said. “Maybe it’s two degrees warmer. Maybe it’s two degrees colder. No one has told me what the optimal temperature is for the whole Earth.” As a firm proponent of reducing carbon emissions to reduce our effect on the environment, I want to acknowledge that this is kind of a good point. But I don't really see how a physicist is qualified to make an authoritative claim about the veracity of community consensus.

I don't see anything new to be honest, little gameplay has been shown besides what was seen from E3. Bethesda's being quite conservative with what it shows.

Classic? American cheese, ketchup, lettuce, onions, thin tomatoes, and pickles.
But other stuff is good, like fried eggs, pineapple slices, barbecue, fried onions, different cheeses, mushrooms, and peppers. Don't pigeonhole your burger preferences.

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/07/trump-attacks-mccain-i-like-people-who-werent-captured-120317.htmlDonald Trump might finally have crossed the line. Appearing on Saturday at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, the real estate mogul took his running feud with Arizona Sen. John McCain to a new level.
“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
The remarks, which came after days of back-and-forth between McCain and Trump, were met with scattered boos. McCain, a former Navy pilot, spent roughly five-and-half years in a notorious North Vietnamese prison known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was repeatedly tortured. He spent two of those years in solitary confinement. At a press availability following his remarks, Trump denied saying that McCain isn’t a war hero and said, “If somebody’s a prisoner, I consider them a war hero.” He also continued his attacks on the Arizona senator, saying, “I think John McCain’s done very little for the veterans. I’m very disappointed in John McCain.”
That'll do, pig. That'll do.
