Well, your generation fucked everything up. This is what you get when you only go to sci-fi action movies that are dependent on CGI action battles. Everything will be one long CGI action battle with banter replacing dialogue.
Y'all may as well own it
lmao shut up
Look at what you get excited for. Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Captain America Civil War, Deadpool, X-Men Apocalypse, Star Wars The Force Awakens, etc...
Hollywood is a business. They sell tickets to theaters and home media. They deliver a product they think you're gonna buy. Look at what you buy and ask yourself if it's what you really want.
The same goes for video games. Activision will pump out a Call of Duty every year because your generation buys it.
How do generalizations work.
Also the average age of gamers is 30 year olds you fucknut. So fuck off with the le nostalgia and le your generation ruined everything memes.
Your generation is just as much at fault as any generation afterwards. We aren't the only ones who buy what comes out today you know.
Gen X isn't the target demographic. We haven't been for a long time. Most movies and games are aimed at the 15-25 age group. If they gave a shit about Gen X, then the movies would be angsty and starring Winona Rider...
So I guess we're not remembering the 90's TNG movies that turned Captain Picard from a Shakespeare-quoting pacifist into a bloodthirsty swashbuckler?

bumping this
What's most frustrating is that ThinkProgress doesn't even attempt to refute the claim that black students placed into schools above their aptitude logically do worse than other students, they just shit on Scalia as a racist, especially with that awful clickbait title, "Black Students Don’t Need Affirmative Action Because They Benefit From A ‘Slower Track’ ", implying he's saying black people in general benefit from easier schools because they're stupid, which isn't at all what's being said. The op-ed article hits the nail on the head by criticizing public figures for slandering Scalia as a racist rather than actually talking about what he's arguing [edit: and he's not even arguing anything, he was apparently asking one of the attorneys to qualify similar statements about the negative impact of affirmative action, so Scalia's being called a racist for asking, in court, for a lawyer to make an argument]. Frankly, the real racism here is preferentially placing black students and fucking up their professional education and development for the sake of a quota.

Looks fucking awful.
It's directed by the guy that directed the Fast and Furious films, so RIP any chances of it being a decent Star Trek film.
Not sure if it's any consolation but Justin Lin did have a shot at directing True Detective S2, so it's not like he's a complete discount store knock off of Michael Bay or anything.
I'm sure it's gonna be a cool movie, just not a good Star Trek story. Most of the TNG films were dumb action flicks, too, but they had an entire series of great Star Trek content to back them up with characterization and stories; the new timeline stuff on its own really needed some redemption, and they implied it by ending Into Darkness with the five year mission idea, and "Beyond" implying they'd go explore. Whatever, it'll still be fun to watch.

hehe criticizing culture and religion that is incompatible with western values is bigoted right guys
Well, that's what bigotry is. Bigotry isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially against fundamentalist Islam.

Up until 2009 he was a democrat, supporting democratic candidates financially, with a few exceptions, since '89. Besides a couple notable policies, quite a bit of his platform is liberal. The guy's a left-leaning fiscal conservative at heart, and I can't imagine a single reason why an immensely successful guy like Trump would want to take on such a demanding job as president. Whether he's doing it just for shits and giggles or to derail a republican party that was just about to get its shit together isn't clear.

They didn't have anything to buy her with. Republic credits are no good on Tattooine. She was freed by the Lars family pretty soon after Episode I.
So go and enforce the law. Slavery was outlawed. Send troops to Tatooine from the Clone Wars.
The point is they did nothing, forbade Anakin from doing anything, and then expected everything to just turn out fine.
I never really got into the books but I think the issue is that the Republic had trouble enforcing laws in the outer rim due to the Hutt cartels and other various gangs.
I've never read any of the books.
My point is they brought this on themselves. They could have freed his mother and brought her to Coruscant or something. They could have given Watto a ship for her.
Oh like fly back and give him some shit to trade? Yeah, that's kind of fucked up I guess.

I ran the numbers from the poll: Total world population of Muslims: approx. 1,600,000,000 Total population of Muslims in polled countries: 860,351,700 Total population of Muslims that responded as in favor of suicide bombing against civilians: 154,351,700 Even if 100% of other Muslims in the world not polled here were in favor of suicide bombing, it'd still be less than the 'billion' that keeps being used as a yardstick.

Where? I've never said anything like that on here, and I've argued against it before. I didn't excuse those people by talking about the others moving away from extremism. You have.
I'll dig through your posts when you dig through mine and show where I'm a bigot.
tbh I'm genuinely interested to see where I've ever said that. I don't expect you to dig through posts, but I've never appealed to the 'moderate billion' argument. As for the bigot thing, look, I'm not trying to insult you with it. You vehemently deny it's just a forum character act, but you do tend to shit on Muslims quite a bit. You could really ask anyone and they'd answer the same. Are they supposed to ask a billion Muslims? No, what I mean is it would be useful to see the number of Muslims in each country's population totaled, to see how those percentages equate to a real number of Muslims that support terrorism. For instance, going off populations from Google there are 6,770,000 Muslims in Palestine and Lebanon combined; 40% support suicide bombing, so that's 2.7 Muslims. I suppose someone could just do the math, but I'd like to know the actual Muslim population from the poll.

Of course I recognize that quite a lot of Muslims in the middle east are okay with terrorism. Do you? Because you were one of the people saying the "fraction of a fraction" bullshit.
Where? I've never said anything like that on here, and I've argued against it before. I didn't excuse those people by talking about the others moving away from extremism. There's so much casual racism and flippancy against Muslims on this site that the good aspects of the article needed to be pointed out. One thing I wish the Pew poll had accounted for was the number of Muslims in the population. If the 'billion moderates' claim is a myth (which I believe it is), how many of the 1.6 billion Muslims actually respond unfavorably to terrorism or terrorist organizations? Am I supposed to reed pet you for that? Whatever that is, you probably shouldn't do it. Edit: ha, just understood the typo. No, that's not why I said that.

Isn't Jim Gordon a tired old man? Suddenly he's a jacked, mid-30s badass.
Yeah a major conflict in the new issues is Jim struggling with becoming Batman Especially physically
There's a lot of stuff about how much he needs to be supplemented in order to keep up with the stress
I mean look at all this shit he's jacked up on lol

Also, didn't the Joker murder Gordon with an axe in Endgame? How'd he recover from that?

your hatred for Muslims
I'm not going to take anybody who says I hate Muslims seriously.
If you had a counter argument, you'd present one. Unfortunately you went for the whole "ur a bigot" thing.
No, I don't hate Muslims. I have never once said anything that would even remotely imply that. I called Trump an idiot for saying all Muslims should be banned from entering the US. So no, calling me a bigot just doesn't cut it.
I didn't call you a bigot then (though you are one, which I'm not holding against you), nor did I disregard anything you said because of the fact that you don't like Muslims. I'm telling you that your bias is so strong against them that you're completely misrepresenting the statistics of the article to vilify Muslims. I do this all the time on here, and people act like I'm being a contrarian or just arguing to be right, and it's just not true. Of course I recognize that quite a lot of Muslims in the middle east are okay with terrorism. Shit, I'm literally training to drop bombs on them someday. You told us to read the rest of the article, and when I bring it up it's just shot down as irrelevant in the face of the suicide bombing statistic. Yeah, fuck those people, but it's also enlightening to see the trends away from extremism, so thanks for sharing the article.

I'm not doing the whole quote argument today. Yes, the perception of moderates in the middle east is largely unfounded, but we can't ignore trends of improvement -- we need to acknowledge and celebrate them. I don't know your background or why you allow your hatred for Muslims to warp your opinions so drastically, but it's very disingenuous to represent this article as anything but a display of progress in the middle east.
I don't think Challenger, or I, for that matter are ignoring the positive trends. Long-term optimism is fine, and justified by the evidence. Our concern is this narrative of current optimism with the state of religion in the Middle East, which encourages complacency towards something as fundamental as incompatible values.
Whose complacency, though? We've been at war with extremists for 14 years, ISIS is the most talked about issue in western countries, the most popular presidential candidate is outwardly racist and hostile to Muslims, and anti-Muslim sentiment is on the rise. Hell, a trending joke on this site is to pretend to hate Arabs and Muslims. There is really no complacency in arguing for less hateful rhetoric.

Fun Fact: Drones don't target civilians. This is blatantly untrue in many high-profile strikes. I'm not concerned with it either. We're in a war. There are going to be casualties. I agree. Drone strikes and suicide bombings aren't even close to the same thing, but they're often justifying civilian casualties for the same reason. I haven't misrepresented anything. Like I said, the article's premise is that these extreme beliefs are on a significant downward trend. Yours is the opposite -- that the trend doesn't matter, so fuck Muslims. Hezbollah has hijacked part of the Lebanese government, Hamas pretty much controls Palestine's government. As I said. Oh ok. That makes it acceptable then. Their hatred for the Jews makes this acceptable. It's ok for Muslims to support terrorists, because they hate Jews.
Obviously not. This "significant downward trend" shows that almost half of Muslims support terrorists, terrorists tactics such as sucide bombings, and that they hate Jews. This is blatantly untrue except in Lebanon and Palestine, and the article has nothing to do with hatred for Jews. Sorry, but no. Them supporting terrorism against us slightly less than before does not make any of this acceptable. Obviously not, but it's progress that you're deliberately arguing around, and heated anti-Muslim rhetoric does nothing constructive. Muslims in hotbed Middle Eastern countries still support suicide bombings and terrorists? Oh, thanks for the revelatory update; nobody already knew this. What was your purpose for making this thread besides to stir up more anti-Muslim sentiment, which is already rampant on this site? You certainly didn't want a serious discussion, because as soon as I disagreed you turned it into a shit-slinging bitchfest.

Why are you also ignoring the rest of the article which explicitly details the trend, across the board, for less support of extremism and suicide bombing?

You mean the exact percentages I'm referencing? Where almost half of Palestinians and Bangladeshis support suicide bombing? 29% of Lebanese?
This is my fucking point. This isn't a minority of people. It's not "a fraction of a fraction" as people make it out to be.
If the percentages were 0.4% then yes, you'd be right. Unfortunately you have millions of people who believe suicide bombings are a fantastic way to deal with things.
I think you first have to separate suicide bombings as a form of terrorism from suicide bombings as a legitimate tactic to guerrilla fighters. Just look at the number of Americans that support drone strikes, despite being notoriously difficult to discriminate between hostile and civilian targets. Only 48% of Americans are "very concerned" about killing civilians in drone strikes, and that correlates strongly with just being concerned about the backlash, not the actual civilians. Shit, 30% of Americans are not at all concerned with civilian casualties from drone strikes. You also completely misrepresented statistics about militant groups like the Taliban; Actually, what the poll shows us is that Pakistanis are 60-8% favorable-unfavorable. You can't just lump abstentions into the "favorable" category any more than you can lump it into the "unfavorable" vote. Palestinians and Lebanese are 40% in favor of Hezbollah? Yeah, no shit, it's their government, and they're actively waging war against what they perceive to be a deeply cultural and religious enemy. I shouldn't have to restate the article's own claims; its very thesis is that support for extremist tactics and militant groups is on a significant downward trend. Your incredibly strong bias is causing you to blatantly misrepresent this article and its statistics.

I'm watching my wife play through the second half of this game after I played through the first half a long time ago, and it's just boring as fuck. Ghirahim is easily the lamest villain in the franchise and there's an unprecedented amount of MMO fetch quest crap.
The graphics look great and a few of the gadgets are pretty innovative, but I don't see a lot of redeeming qualities to the game besides what it adds to the lore.
What're your thoughts?
