http://elitedaily.com/dating/male-escort-dinner-party/1224073/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=EG&utm_content=1224073I wanted to bring a guy with me to spite my cousin, but there was no one in sight: I currently am not dating anyone seriously, and the only male friends I have are gay or straight and taken. I live in No Man’s Land. [...] I’m straight-up worn out from hearing, “You’re pretty cool and smart, so why can’t you find a guy?” Society condones asking women questions like this without stopping to consider how they feel.
Well, I wanted to f*ck with society. I wanted to change the rules. I reached a point where I was so bored with my love life that I was willing to try anything once.
If I was going to do this, I was going to do this right. So, on my own volition, I dropped $150 on a male escort from Rent A Gent. Yes, you read that correctly. I rented a gent.
[...]
I’d never fallen for a guy like Alec, but I found his lack of complication intriguing. His confession that he wanted to get married someday (as we sat among many afraid-of-commitment Millennials) was refreshing. I don’t know if it was the alcohol or the fact that he was unavailable, but I fell in love for the night.
“I’m just your project,” he’d joke. He had a point. Though, later on, the thing felt so natural that I forgot I’d hired someone to pretend to love me.
When the party died down, my cousin pulled me aside. “I’m proud of you,” he said. “You found someone who deserves you.”
There it was: the validation I’d always craved. It was ear candy. It was a kind of acceptance I’d never felt before, and its impermanence didn’t detract from my satisfaction.
Just to preface, I really have no problem with services like these; if someone wants to pay hundreds of dollars per hour to hang out with an attractive person, it's their business. What really gets me about this article is how this story would be vilified in today's society if the roles were switched; if some white guy in a dry spell hired a hot ethnic woman to look good in front of family and wrote an article like this, sites just like this would be shitting all over him for objectifying women and being a sexist. But when a woman does it, it's a heartwarming story of validation and romance.

Except Republicans can't vote in the Democratic primary.
In North Carolina, unaffiliated voters can vote in either the Dem or Rep primary.
So a lot of people who lean republican will go independent. Just gives them more options.
Yeah, there are several states in which unaffiliated voters can do that. It's kind of a shitty system.

Ghibli movies are fantastic, and unfortunately, not at all representative of the rest of the genre.
The Wind Rises is one of my favorite films.

The pacing of 7.2 was just awful, and I really don't like the weird fight Harry and Voldemort had in the castle.
But yeah, all the movies are great. Could've been more faithful to the source material but as far as adaptations go, they're some of the best.

Except Republicans can't vote in the Democratic primary.
Independents can though.
That's not true. They'd have to change their registration before going to the polls in order to vote in a primary; that's why it's stupid to be a registered independent.

And learning about hardware won't really tell you anything about programming.
Well I suppose It can't hurt to learn about it anyway.
And another thing I'm not sure about, what language do you use to mess about with it? The only computer language I kind of know is BASIC, but that's been obsolete for around 30 years now.
I put Android on mine. It's not like you need to build your own operating system or know how to code to use one.

Worth the investment? They're like $30. And learning about hardware won't really tell you anything about programming.
They're pretty fun to play around with. I set one up as a media player for my TV when they first came out.

Scenario #1:
You find out your 16 year old son has been going out to parties and getting drunk. You ground him and tell him hes not allowed out. Its 1AM and you catch him sneaking out. You tell him to go back to bed and you'll talk about this in the morning. He says "fuck you dad, I'm going out". What do you do?
How about not raise a shitty kid that disrespects me and sneaks around behind my back?
Hes a teenager, thats what teenagers do, they rebel.
That's not universally true at all. Plenty of teenagers get through high school without getting into shit, and I can tell you from experience that hitting your son during an argument won't endear him to your principles.

I've been told I look like many actors, most of which I don't really see. Also told I look like Shaggy here (that one I can see).
Told I'm talented regarding music, smash bros, and I'm a nice guy.
I like your jacket.

The Ford Focus (and Fusion) sucks ass unless you're just looking for a basic economy sedan, and even then other makers do the same thing better.

Corporations all hate him.
He's supported by Amazon, Google, IBM, Facebook, Microsoft, and many others. A lot of super PACs have supported his campaign as well; his campaign just doesn't have one they officially control.

I love my Mazda 3 hatchback. A hatchback is a nice way to get more space without actually getting an SUV.
Don't get anything made by Ford, and check Consumer Reports.

what can be done at this point in time about the cartel in mexico? specifically towards the US users here. i mean, sure, their cause has died down considerably, especially since more americans are visiting the country, but couldnt we lend a hand to the people?
You could stop supporting such loose gun control laws, for starters.
how does this affect the mexicans? im actually curious on this.
It are the extremely loose American gun laws that allow for thousands of American guns to be smuggled across the border and right into the hands of Mexican cartels every single year. The most conservative research estimates that this number lies around 250,000, while more recent data suggests that there might be over 700,000 American guns crossing the border into Mexican criminal hands every year. The American pro gun attitude and loose gun laws allowing for easy access to firearms is undeniably one of the most important reasons that Mexican cartels managed to grow this big and powerful and put them in a position where they can even challenge the police and military.
America's gun policy is bad enough as it is. The only reason it's only a moderate disaster rather than a complete one is because it is a modern country with highly trained police forces, money and stable political system to manage it all relatively well. Mexico does not have those luxuries. It's corrupt and poor. The US is comparable to the big factory dumping waste upstream, keeping its own waters relatively clean while a lot of the shit ends up in the poor and incapable areas downstream.
You're out of your mind if you think access to guns is what makes cartels powerful. Money buys everything -- police, politicians, smugglers, manpower, and connections -- and they have a shitload of it. Yeah, buckling down on private sales will cut off some access to smuggled guns, but there are always other methods.

Donald Trump...is vastly supported by a dying white-supremacy groups It's pretty disingenuous to say that the "white-supremacy" demographic is politically significant, let alone that a vast portion of his supporters are part of it.

did you notice the movie was only shot in, like, six or seven long takes or something
It was edited to appear as a single cut except for a single transition. It's amazing cinematography.

the game implements a form of punishment that speaks nothing of your lack of skill as a player [...] "But if you didn't lose your souls, the game would be too easy!"
No it wouldn't. It would just take a shorter amount of time to beat it. So what?
How does it not? 'Get good' memes aside, once you're good in an area you'll be able to walk through without getting touched (retry Undead Burg and see how much of a challenge it poses). If you're still dying in an area, you're not ready for the boss, and you need to practice. Your ability to clear an area without draining your estus or dying is a direct measurement of your skill.

What makes the game fun for me is the combat
It's kinda neat how such a simple system can be so solid and fun. the soul system in this game is an example of fake difficulty
It's really no different from older games that restart a level when you die, except with the benefit of giving you your souls back if you can make it back. It doesn't really fit into any of the five categories in your link; it even addresses your complaint: It is important to note that just because a gameplay feature is annoying and frustrating does not make it fake difficulty. For example, placing a large number of invincible minor minions between the player and the Plot Coupon is extremely annoying, but they can be avoided by skilled movement - thus, the difficulty is real. The game maybe suffers from "checkpoint starvation" (from your link).

I got A's on every test during the semester I took it. tbh it should be OTC.
Pretty sad tbh fam
Sad that it's not OTC?
No
Sad that I used it for school? It was a legitimate prescription; try reading a textbook and having to read the same line over and over because you can't retain it. I know you hate mind-altering substances, but I would've pegged you as someone fully in favor of a drug that improves cognitive ability and rationality.
Wait
You can have ADHD and be a naval aviator?
No, can't have ADHD in the navy. I don't have it; medication was prescribed temporarily -- before I ever signed a contract with the navy.
