The justice system prescribes laws, and crimes only exist in the parameters of those laws, so the justice system is responsible for all crime.
The system is only responsible for the crime if all actions are determined, at which point any attempt at justice is completely arbitrary and morality is a farce.

I sympathize with the desire many here feel to hire only the most qualified, but if it's demonstrable that bias in favor of white males prevents others from gaining the experience necessary to be the most qualified, I don't see an issue with affirmative action in this case. And at the end of the day, he can hire whomever he wants. Edit: To clarify the title, the article specifies that those considered for roles or jobs should be proportional, not necessarily resulting in total proportionality.

Yeah, this is right. Interstellar isn't even in the same league as 2001, though, and it's definitely wrong to consider Interstellar as a counterpoint to 2001. They're not two sides of the same coin just because Interstellar was narrower in scope and had a black hole scene.
