It's in the same genre and it's the closest you'll get to it on steam.
The genre is really diverse, though. The new Xcoms aren't isometric and play very differently; personally FF Tactics is one of my favorite games, while I really dislike Xcom. OP, check out The Banner Saga 1 & 2 and Fallout Tactics.

XCom is pretty dissimilar to FF Tactics, though.

in modern physics, logical positivism is a fundamental
In modern physics (and mathematics), logical positivism is a defunct and impossible means of expressing universal truths. It's reductionism for the sake of reductionism and adds nothing to the field.
see, i always understood the concept to be synonymous with empiricism--and that's sort of the angle i was arguing from
you're not about to tell me that that's not a means of expressing universal truth
It's synonymous with logical empiricism, which is just an attempt to apply scientific rigor to abstract logic, which is fruitless.

Season 6 was shit. The pacing has just been awful.
Are you saying that sam tarly only going from the Wall to Oldtown in the same time Baelish goes from the vale to the north, back to the vale and back to the north again doesn't make sense?
Don't forget how it took him half of the season to walk across the street from his dad's house to the Citadel.

Season 6 was shit. The pacing has just been awful.
It's literally felt like it's structured as a list of deaths, battles, and movements that need to happen before the end of the season. The Dorne plot was the last vestige of political drama the show had left, and they completely eliminated it right out of the gate. So it's been cool to see the major battles, but ASOIAF has never really been about kickass fight scenes.

http://nerdist.com/game-of-thrones-creators-confirm-2-more-seasons-13-15-more-hours-of-story/“It’s two more seasons we’re talking about,” explained Benioff. “From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now.”
“It’s not supposed to be an ongoing show, where every season it’s trying to figure out new story lines. We wanted it to be one giant story, without padding it out to add an extra 10 hours, or because people are still watching it. We wanted to something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story.” "Without padding" i.e., no character development or storytelling, just checking plot points off of a list and calling it a day.

They're already halfway there, since they've met up with the Dornish fleet. I'm sure the first episode of S7 will start with her fleet arriving perfectly fine, and they're safe now that the wildfire stores have been disposed of.

I drive drunk all the time.
You should literally kill yourself before you kill someone else.

It's still crazy that they just cut out all of Dorne's plot. The seasons started by killing Doran in a couple minutes, and ended with some quippy dialog and their ships suddenly being in Dany's fleet. I just can't understand why the directors didn't want to use them for anything.

cold turkey. it will be harder initially but you'd be able to cut it all off much quicker.
That's what I was thinking, just get it over with, but I've never tried to quit caffeine so I have no idea what it feels like. Sugar isn't bad, it's just dealing with cravings for a few days.

Temporarily. I'm going to a survival school in a couple weeks and I want to avoid the crashes and withdrawal before wandering around hungry in the woods or getting the piss beaten out of me.
Should I just quit cold-turkey (ha) or wean off of it? I'm not really doing anything right now so I don't need caffeine at all except for workouts.

time passes between episodes
Oh it does? Holy shit, I had no idea! Next you're going to tell me that Littlefinger and Varys can't literally teleport at will. You're just defending shitty plot devices and storytelling for the sake of being a pedant. Nobody's seriously complaining about it, it's just a recurring joke.

Not really teleportation rather than time passing

Green = Arya (2 episodes) Yellow = Greyjoys (3 episodes) Red = Daenerys' path to Westeros, assuming no stops
That Knights of the Vale are the most believable, since Littlefinger starts preparing them in episode 4 (though between 4 and 5 he travels from the Vale to the Wall and afterward returns to the Vale).
They just do a terrible job of showing the passing of time in the show. Between S01E01 and S01E02, Robert travels from King's Landing to Winterfell, then returns with the Starks to Kings Landing (a round trip that takes two months: approximately the same length as the green line).
thanks for like agreeing with me I guess
I wasn't, really. Chronology in the show is sloppy and deserves criticism for sacrificing storytelling just to hit plot points. Oh, don't forget Jamie traveling from Riverrun to King's Landing overnight.

any studies I show you would just get laughed away for not being "peer reviewed"
Well yeah, standing up to scrutiny is literally the job of scientifically rigorous researchers. Either way you've always responded with that claim and refuse to post any.

paid & sold studies
It's like you don't understand what "independent" means.
It's like you don't understand what lying is.
The independent studies that back GMOs are far from actually "independent".
Do you understand that that claim places the burden of proof upon you and that you've never once cited anything to support it? Did you just start believing this without any sort of evidence?

"b-but if government backed studies say somethings good then it has 2 be good!! r-right?"
The mountain of independent research is an awfully large hill for GMO-luddites to die on.
the studies that back GMOs are "independent" like Minecraft is an indie game
That's a convenient and indefensible excuse whenever you disagree with the scientific community.

expensive whole grain brown rice
It's store-brand, so it's probably pretty cheap, tho OT: Foot stamps are supposed to be a supplement, not a sole source of food. And the max amount that can be received by an individual is actually $48, not $29.
