Putin is the true heir to the Iron Throne.

But for real, this isn't too surprising and seems typical of politics; everyone has shit on everyone, but they keep it out of the public to avoid outing themselves. Either way, he's been much more resistant to controversy, whereas Clinton ungraciously soaked up every bit of damaging news and magnified its effects. If they attempt to blackmail the Trump administration, I imagine this current "cool war" could escalate, though I don't really see Russia as a significant military threat.

Trump already plans to drastically increase the navy, and Russia can barely project a modicum of power as it is. Obama's foreign policy really has galvanized their seedy proxy wars and made them a legitimate player in international conflict, which is unfortunate.

Shouldn't have given him and his ilk the satisfaction of his becoming a martyr. This would have been a lovely time to make use of that nasty little caveat of the 13th amendment..

Is there any real example of other white supremacists or murderers using these people as martyrs though? He won't be executed for at least a decade (though he probably won't appeal, since he made no attempt to defend against the death penalty), and he'll probably be long forgotten until it pops back up in the news around that date.

And even then, should the external consequences (like the subjective determination that he'll be a martyr for some other hate group) even factor into a supposed objective legal sentance?

This is the guy that shot up a church in 2015.

I won't advocate for the death penalty, but I'm not opposed to the sentence.

Link is a feelgood PG10 hero. By the time he's done a formal bow to start off the duel, Chosen has stunlocked and killed him in 2 hits with a +5 chaos Zweihander.

Can Link be stunlocked? I don't recall his attacks being interrupted in the games except when he's knocked back.

The only time I can think of is when he's shocked, so we'll call that a weakness to lightning, with a high resistance to fire and magic (sheild + tunics).

Well when you compare yourself to someone with the title of "the Great", you're fucked. As for a regular 20 year old, you're fine. If you're in college there's no way you can be "squared away".

Link vs. random pc from any Souls game.

The master sword is equivalent to a +5 magic straight sword.

Chosen undead can be any build (but not a mix like the soul of cinder).

Who wins?

Soul level?

120, and Link has all his gear, full hearts and magic.

It's so weird to me that we talk as if this is happening in the future-tense. In reality, these stars collided nearly two millennia ago. Super neat, though.

are respawns canon in dark souls?

Like respawning at a bonfire? Yeah, that's explained by the darksign. Humans branded with it can respawn at bonfires but go insane after some time; in Demon's Souls the player's soul is captured by the nexus. But as far as Zelda canon goes, Link is never killed in the game except for when he's revived by fairies.

my thinking is that the chosen undead would win then due to his ability to keep respawning
Handwave something about Link sealing the undead's soul away or whatever.

Or maybe it just turns into a heart container.

Also please tell me no one here thinks MoS is superior to Superman (1979)

Christopher Reeve is the best Superman and Clark Kent to ever play the part. Now we're stuck with a square jaw with zero personality.

It's kind of a shame that there isn't a bigger modding community for Dark Souls. It's a deceptively simple game, and a legit level designer (or an actually decent version of the roguelike chalice dungeons) would be really cool.

Man of Murder

Why is this a thing.
>could've dragged Zod into space at any point to avoid casualties
>instead decides to turn Metropolis into a rock em, sock em fighting ring resulting in 9/11 times a million

>dragging a guy as strong as him who can fight better anywhere he doesn't want to

Okay Mordo.

Take a gander at this.

Let's not kid ourselves into thinking they had any intention whatsoever of showing Supes as aware of his surroundings or making any attempt to prevent damage. It was meant to looking fucking cool, and that's it. "Kal does attempt to throw Zod deeper into space"...as he throws him directly into a satellite. Come on. The foundation of BvS is that Supes is completely incompetent and that he caused inexcusable damage in the fight. The fact that they hand-wave that away doesn't mean anything.

There's only like 3 entries into the DCCU thus far, whereas you have 14 in the MCU as well as myriad TV shows and spin-offs. Not really a fair comparison.

It shouldn't be a fair comparison for Marvel. They've had a lot more time to produce crappy sequels and spin-offs, whereas DC's three films have all been the result of massive budgets and advertising. Maybe less so for SS, but they've all been some of the biggest releases of the year. The fact that all three of their films in the DCCU have been tremendous flops says a lot.
I wouldn't necessarily categorise them as 'tremendous flops' unless you're just going by the Rotten Tomatos metric. MoS made 668 mil, BvS made just shy of 900 mil and Suicide Skwad made 745, not to mention the audience scores where much more lenient than the critics. Just because they didn't shatter the box office or get 90 plus with the critics on RT doesn't render them flops.

I haven't seen SS and I don't think intend to given some of the reviews from both critics and YouTubers but I don't think it's fair to write them off as catastrophic failures just yet.

I'm really just talking about the quality of the movie. RT scores or profits don't really quantify whether a movie was good.

They don't fancy themselves as vloggers though. That's what they may be ultimately, but they'll swear up and down they're a just as reputable news outlet as CNN. And if they want to appear that way, they need to take a serious inner look on how they handle the news.

TYT aren't reporters though, they're vloggers. Don't let the format kid you into thinking they have some sort of credibility.

Well you don't need to tell me that, I don't work for them. They look like complete idiots, and they're only fooling themselves.

At least Marvel is consistently good. Even their worst (Iron Man 2/3, Ant Man, Thor 1/2, etc) are better films than DC's best.

I didn't see Hateful Eight until 2016, that movie was really shitty.

Sounds like you need to suck on a  WARM BLACK DINGUS
DUDE BLACK DICK VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN RAPE RAPE RAPE LMAO

Tarantino should be dragged out behind a shed and shot.

It's kind of a shame that you seem to have taken that scene at face value. It's a scathing rebuttal of American racism...or is that why you dislike it?
While I have a problem with almost all recent revisionist westerns on principle, that's not really my beef with it.

Tarantino's work is extremely overrated, particularly in Hateful Eight. I think his use of 70mm is wasted on a largely indoor film like that. Although I agree with the praise it's gotten for amplifying the crowded feeling of the cabin, that's all it really accomplished.

I'm convinced at this point that he thinks that being edgy and provocative and using "creative" editing makes up for the mediocre writing that plagues his films. This isn't helped by the millions of teenagers and bearded 30-somethings who think excess=wit and praise him as some kind of mastermind. We get it, mom was just being closedminded when she told you Jesus wouldn't want you to cuss.

I also think that, if this was an attempt at "criticizing racism", it's a pretty fucking stupid one that has accomplished nothing beyond making "anti-racists" feel proud of themselves and offending normal people. I found his use of the Daisy character (a metaphor for the poor, uneducated white underclass that bourgeois liberals like himself despise) as a punching bag extremely offensive. I grew up around these people, I understand that they're human beings and I don't like his dehumanizing treatment of them in this film.

I appreciate the thorough response, though I disagree with most of it -- but I definitely would regard this as one of his weakest scripts. I really liked the 70mm, and had a blast seeing it on film in a specialized theater. As for Daisy, I don't really see why anyone should be offended by the brutal beating their demographic receives in the film, though I wouldn't agree Daisy is a clear stand-in for the "uneducated white underclass", and despite her roles as the villain, you're supposed to be disgusted with the bounty hunter's treatment of her. If you were able to empathize with the her, recognize the hypocrisy of her abuse at the hands of the protagonists' (ostensibly a cop and a war hero), I think the film did its job. Without a doubt, you're supposed to walk out of that film feeling dirty and potentially offended.

Hateful Eight effectively lampoons numerous examples of typical Hollywood violence while sharply criticizing any preconceived stereotype of the characters' demographics, just by letting them play out. The "revisionist" black war hero getting revenge on a Confederate general (a similar theme to Inglourious Basterds) is turned on its head by letting it happen; he brutally murders an old man, and abuses a woman, all while hypersexualizing every ounce of his violence through the story of the general's son -- kind of sounds a bit like stereotypical black gang culture?

Bit of an update:

1-1, 1-2, 4-1, 5-1 complete, currently making my way through Valley of Defilement. The poison lake is fucking ridiculous. The Tower Knight from 1-2 looked like it'd be a really great fight, but it was stupidly easy. Leechmonger and Adjudicator were also super easy. So far all the bosses have been gimmicky, rather than a legitimate duel or monster fight.

SL 30
18 STR
18 DEX
18 Magic
18 Faith

VIT and END are around 11. Planning to use the Blueblood sword, and I'm making my way to 5-3 to collect the required soul.

going for any particular build? Gonna stack regen?

I'm specializing for the Blueblood sword which requires 18/18/18/18 and scales with luck pretty well. It's a weird setup that's supposedly really strong, and it covers a lot of bases so I can try out lots of different builds to experience the game. Currently stacking 2 health regens and 1 mana regen, mostly to counter the poison swamp.

Honestly, could you imagine something like Man of Steel happening and people NOT being afraid? People dont know his motvaions. All they know is: He's an alien, He just ended his entire race, and he could do the verry same to humanity any time he damn well pleased.

I too enjoy superhero fantasies for their gritty, realistic vision of modern civilization. I don't look to children's entertainment comic books for levity, good characters, or compelling stories; I really prefer to be reminded of the crushing depression that is the true human condition.
The first half was atrocious, and then the stuff from the actual comic just kind of lacked impact for me.

This might give words to what you may feel about the movie. Yes, it stuck to the source material, but it did a very poor job of conveying anything but the pictures themselves.
