Is the game short enough for a rental? $60 for a short single-player game seems like a lot.

Practical how? They can't project power outside of the South China Sea, have no global allies willing to confront NATO, and rely on the US and Europe for trade. They produce goods and export them; good luck sustaining their shitty, fragile economy while at war with their biggest trade partner.

No, they'll continue corporate spying and inhumane labor practices to hold power. Peer wars are a thing of a past.

They're saying Trump is acting fascist because he's trying to get all media suppressing happy, saying they should trust him and not the "opposition party", along with a bunch of other crap.

I wouldn't conflate flippant remarks with a media-suppression agenda, mostly because you'd be overestimating his competence.

The problem is that they were also given chemo, which could have killed the cancer. It needs to be controlled before claims can be made that it was the treatment.
but turkey, the babies didnt need this treatment. havent you heard? cinnamon and honey mixed with water will cure cancer, diabetus, arthritis and gallbladder disease! doctors cant explain why!!

Everyone knows you can cure cancer by praying really hard smh

Their prices are still outrageous, and I refuse to support it.

Looks okay So far. I dig the concept as a whole. I'd really like to see an actual gameplay trailer though.
https://youtu.be/NOIzH6UcoW4

That's very little more than an in-game story trailer. It shows few mechanics, no controls or menus, character progression, etc. It's got 20 seconds of a fight, but not much else.

Remember when Bungie released a demo of their early New Mombasa design for Halo 2? Something demonstrative of actual gameplay would be nice, though it looks like DA:I in space, which isn't bad.

Serious / Re: Net neutrality may be another hot topic under the Donald.
« on: January 26, 2017, 07:34:27 AM »

It is absolutely imperative for everybody to realize that opposition to a particular plan, in this case loaded with lots of burdensome and arguably unnecessary regulations which directly favor large telecom providers over small ones, is not tacit or explicit opposition to the concept of net neutrality.

1095
I'd say I agree, but Serious is rarely treated seriously anyway.

"Man, reading sure is hard, so I'll just post a dumbass Engadget article whose author doesn't even read what he links."

-OP, I'm sure.

http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2016/db1219/DOC-342677A1.pdf
Here's the document in which he promises to revisit requirements for businesses subject to enhanced transparency rules, which place an onus on broadband providers to publicize certain aspects of their business:
Quote
A person engaged in the provision of broadband Internet access service shall publicly
disclose accurate information regarding the network management practices,
performance, and commercial terms of its broadband Internet access services sufficient
for consumers to make informed choices regarding use of such services and for content,
application, service, and device providers to develop, market, and maintain Internet
offerings.
https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-15-24A1.pdf
(As a consumer, I would already question the need for these rules; I have never felt that I have insufficient information to make informed choices in choosing which shitty telecom company I'm forced to use, but I digress)

Current rules exempted small providers (100,000 customers or less) from these rules until December of last year. Pai proposed a change to allow providers with up to 250,000 customers that short extension. That proposal was denied. Pai's reasoning is that small businesses competing with big providers would be forced to expend vital resources in doing this. I know from familial experience that being a small broadband provider is extremely competitive and has small margins. Pai was sticking up for small businesses, not large telecom providers. At no point has he expressed a desire to end net neutrality or get in bed with big telecom -- on the contrary, the 'opposition to net neutrality' mentioned by NPR is exactly what I just stated: a defense of struggling small businesses in the form of a temporary extension on new regulations.

Engadget extrapolates an attempt by Pai to temporarily help small providers as a justification for the claim that "it's safe to say that net neutrality will eventually lose a lot of its thunder under the new administration, assuming it survives at all." Engadget is, unfortunately, very left leaning in its desire to stir up net neutrality controversy at every turn. In Pai's attempt to help small businesses stay marginally, temporarily competitive with big telecom providers, they've spun that effort into a right-wing scandal of anti-net neutrality.

Please, people, read the sources. Engadget writers are not neutral journalists, and stirring up dissent in articles like these is literally their business model. Honestly, the OP and everyone just mindlessly reacting to this garbage article should be embarrassed.

Walls don't work. We need a streamlined path to citizenship; no administration should be turning away millions of potential taxpayers.

Mass arrests are questionably legal and probably a civil rights violation. We don't need to normalize this behavior.

I can't think of a better way to normalize it than by directing that outrage onto a scapegoat president rather than the city officials actually responsible -- though I don't think the article you linked has anything to do with this whatsoever, since it calls out numerous arrests without probable cause; the "journalists" arrested here were not members of the press, but plainclothes writers using cell phones and handheld cameras, in an unlawful riot in which police rightly assume anyone not attempting to get away are active participants or instigators. As others have said, I can't imagine any of these people will actually be convicted of anything due to a lack of physical evidence.

The Flood / Re: Gym high? What's going on?
« on: January 25, 2017, 03:18:35 PM »
Sounds like you're dehydrated and haven't eaten properly. I drink several liters during my lifting workouts, and eat about 100 calories of simple carbs per 30 minutes of weightlifting (fruit usually, but some people do candy; avoid complex carbs like wheat) to give me energy. Then I eat something high in protein afterwards, like chicken or a protein shake.

What exactly does Trump's administration have to do with it? They were arrested and arraigned by the city.
This. Trump probably has a decent amount of influence over the Attorney General's decisions, but this seems to be all local law enforcement and judiciary. I don't think it's fair to pin this on Trump.
>be an obvious authoritarian
>be a "law & order" president (his words)
>supports private prison industry
>blames media for being liars even when they're observably correct
>wants to sue the media out of business for doing their job

It's hard for me to not see a trickle-down effect here. Law enforcement (especially the FBI) loves Trump since he'll let them take the gloves off. All the better if the pesky media is afraid or otherwise unable to do their job as watchdog.

I see a lot of correlation and zero causation.

Trump's administration is having journalists (...) charged with felonies

What exactly does Trump's administration have to do with it? They were arrested and arraigned by the city.

I like the old stuff. Strayhorn and Ellington are gods. Back when I still smoked weed, Miles was a go to.

There's a lot of modern shit, but here's some good contemporary jazz. They do a lot of classical crossovers and are only instrumental. This is a cover of an Ellington song:

I was thinking cops, it's safer but I live in a Democrat state.

99% of the military consists of POGs, and even if you did go infantry (which is difficult and shitty), it's really just the special forces guys getting fucked up these days. The military is relatively safe.

Kike puppet can't do shit. Mattis is okay with it so it's gonna stick.

So Turkey, how long was the brief? I just sat through a whole day of bullshit powerpoints but apparently this one hasn't made it down the channels to the guard yet.  Hoping I ETS before it does... just might use an ace card to slit my wrists sitting through any more.

Scheduled for 2 hours, took 45 minutes. Then we had some civvie lecture us about TSP and financial bullshit for another half hour.
