Why don't any games I give a shit about have multiplayer betas <_<
Because the company building them doesn't have the resources available to conduct one, or the game itself isn't popular enough, or there isn't even a multiplayer mode.

« on: December 31, 2014, 04:25:25 PM »
I don't you can do BXR in Halo 5. I did notice that in a frantic situation I kept changing my mind over what I wanted to do and think I accidentally pressed BXR. So really, you get the medal for performing a trick that isn't in the game. More of a homage to Halo 2. Same with the Combat Evolved medal to Halo CE.

Congratulations on having no lives.
Mad because bad.
No, if you can play 40 matches in a row you must have absolutely nothing else to do than play video games all day. That's just sad.
You're a gamer. I'm a gamer. We're on a website and forum that is a result of a video game franchise, and you're lecturing us about how much we play?

I'm assuming you have Dragon Age then. Could you tell me how the Tactical View is of any value. I thought it was the coolest thing ever when they first introduced it in the tutorial, but I've noticed that after selecting enemies for my parties to attack, they do one attack on them, and then go back to doing their own thing.
I actually completely redid this thread because I felt the other one had little to no discussion value.

Anyway the tactical view is good for the more complex fights and positioning archers and mages. Make sure you're using RT and not exiting the mode after you give commands, or they will ignore you, and after each attack or movement you have to give them a new command or they will do nothing or just use their "preferred" attacks
That's the thing, I stay in the mode, use RT to advance time, and suddenly they're all ganging up on one guy instead of fighting the enemies I chose them to attack.

Son of a bitch. Ya beat me to it.

'Twas good fun. Well, actually, it was great fun. The team plays were phenomenal. Probably could've pulled together that last match, but we were too sloppy when pulling together. That comeback was good at the end though.

Okay, now that I've played here are my problems.

SMG is pretty much useless. I got 1 kill with it, nobody even bothered to use it on me. It just about ties or does worse than the AR at close range, but that might be because of moving closer as the SMG fires means it was out of range at first, and the range is horribly short.

DMR is meh, I don't care for it, but it's there and some people killed me with it, so I assume it's viable for something.

Why the fuck do grenades kill me now? I got killed by 1 grenade, as a matter of fact, it killed me and a teammate both with full shields and health off spawn. Grenades never did this before, barely in CE and never in any other game.

Why is the beta so small? Reach offered much more content than this, we have 2 power weapons, the Sword and the Sniper. Reach gave us the Rocket Launcher, Beam Rifle, Pro-Pipe, Sniper, Plasma Launcher, Energy Sword, Shotgun, do you get the point? Maybe it's because it's the first week, but we still had more the first week of Reach Beta, and not having a lot to playtest seems counter-productive, don't you think?
=O Dude. the SMG is on the borderline of being a power weapon. It's got low auto aim for a reason.

Why is the Beta so small though? Probably because we're roughly year out from launch, rather than Reach's Beta, which was 5 months from Launch. And I say roughly because we don't know the release date.

Granted, the experience itself is heavily curated if you haven't noticed. It seems more that they're interested in balancing and testing the game itself instead of just the weapon sandbox. Which is indeed, why the Beta is so early, and can actually be considered a Beta.

Also, did you by chance record you getting killed by the grenade? I've noted that standing directly on top of a live grenade in the game with full health on both accounts results in 100% depletion of the shields, and 50% depletion of direct health.

Actually, it'd be best to record any moments you consider "bullshit", that way you actually have justified evidence from the game itself for 343i's consideration.
Yeah, I don't believe that in the least. Fired at a guy who had an AR, we both started firing at the same time we tied. I didn't miss a shot. Unless I see something showing otherwise I don't believe it for a second.

It's going to come out in November, and they've shown a lot of content that isn't in the Beta yet, and other gametypes shouldn't be far out. They should've prepared for the Beta and had ample content for people to test, we don't have that. It's a Beta for a reason, to test things, get feedback, and fix problems. All the stuff the Reach Beta had wasn't magically made in just those last few months, I've seen Halo PC map pack Betas with more content than this.

It was the last game I played, does the game have theater? If not, then no. All I can tell you is that either he had the fucking Holy Hand Grenade, or the grenades in general are ridiculous. I'd guess the first, from what you said.
The problem with building a game is that the development process doesn't center around building a public Beta.

Dunno man. You sure you didn't miss a shot? Fire-rate is fast enough that you wouldn't see a lapse in the hit-markers.
It was point blank and he only weakly strafed.
Lag then? Dunno man. I was shreking with the SMG today.

Spartan Abilities totes aren't armor abilities.

Both are the same principle.
Spartan Abilties are traits that everyone has, Whereas Armor Abilities are choosable/equipable.

Yes, I am serious. You can't pick up any of your Spartan Abilities, can you? Or choose from them?

AA's are gimmicks, nothing more.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game. But Sprint and AA's are straight garbo.
But AAs aren't in Halo 5...

Do we know what the statue is of?
No. But considering the price, and the fact it's numbered, I'm thinking it must be high quality. Because as cool as the Legendary Edition of Reach is, a plastic statue and an armor effect are not worth $70.

I still have my Reach limited edition crate. That thing is gorgeous, I love it. I hope they can do something like that.
That thing is beautiful. I kept everything with it. Even the rectangular band that went around it. My 14 year old mind was surprisingly smart enough to remove it carefully for preservation.

I've been anxious to see everyone's reactions to the beta. So far so good. I'm expecting the shit reviews to come pouring in soon enough.

Also, if you guys want to see some crazy SA combos, watch Episode 6 of the Sprint. The 343i Pro Team are beasts with them.

I'm glad all weapons have zoom. Aiming down the sights with just abut any firearm is more efficient than just ramboing it.

Sword doesn't have zoom...
Actually I believe Admirals said in his beta assessment thread that the Prophet's Bane does have a zoom and gives it about a 3x lunge range.
You're correct. It has Smart Scope. Narrows your FOV, so it doesn't really "zoom".

You mean the thing where you hold up your hands and the sword closer to your face?

That actually has a function?
Yeah. Triples your lunge range.

Take a look.

I guess I never got a chance to learn the nuances of Halo 2 like that.

But after Halo 2, precision weapons behave the way I described.
