Griball is so fucking easy in Halo 5.

Only problem is 343i fucked up the Gravity Hammer.
The great Irony is that a large portion of Halo 5's Gravity Hammer balancing was feedback taken directly from the Grifball Community figureheads. 343i even brought them to the studio to balance and create Halo 5's Grifball.

Surprised? I wasn't.

You seem a little salty there buddy
I'll admit, I am a bit salty about you thinking I'm salty, but the thread doesn't bother me. Pretty standard on Sep7agon.

You do seem a little bothered by it

I don't see the bias here...maybe most people here just like Halo 2 and 3?

Ah yes, the fair poll options.

Halo 5's AI at any given time

the ai is so bad

my friend and i were doing legendary together and oh my god did the ai suck donkey dick
On Legendary you need to constantly be issuing squad commands to make them useful. They actually saved my ass a bunch by doing that.

Also, only 8 more Silver Packs to go until I max those out!

If people want the thread to end, that's fine with me, as long as it's not to shut up the opposition, according to the Poll, only 2 people voted for 343, and only 2 people are trying to end this thread.....
Only one. I'm with Mr. Bones.

And I haven't voted yet; for good reason.

That's you, or not? Cause he posted on one of my Topics a few days ago. "Halo is a Joke", you's both use technicalities/lore to bolster your argument rather than facing the facts,
And the facts are what? Opinions you and sizable amount of people hold? You can hate 343i all you want, doesn't change the fact your reasons for hating them are either stupid or extremist-level.
Calling the opposition - Stupid/ Extremist, you certainly are superior.....
Extremist:

You said 343i's art was unforgivable
Is equivalent to murder
And you liked a post that stated 343i's artists deserve to be round up and shot

Stupid:

You're unable to differentiate between two different art styles, claiming that a brand new art style completely destroyed the old one, when the old one is very clearly intact.
You refuse to accept story sources as legitimate points in an argument even when they pertain to something story related (IE mystery of the Forerunners)
Your sense of realistic military theme/story equates to pop-corn 80s sci-fi flicks.

So, yeah. I stand by my argument that your opinions are stupid and extreme.
You can see it, HOW you choose to see it. I have said that 343 should go die in a hole - in the past, it's not serious at all, just like when I liked someone's post.
Also, unless yo hid from the images posted, You can't deny the art - style is an abomination now.
You are defined by your actions, not the other way around.

As, I recall, I haven't defended 343i once. The primary discussion of the thread is in regards to 343i's artstyle and I've yet to argue that it is good or appealing.

And apparently arguing your own opinion =/= trying to shove down people's throats that 343i can do no wrong.

"This is the armour Spartans wear when taking their A-Levels. This is the armour Spartans wear when they eat a burrito. Now that MJOLNIR has become cheap and expendable, there's an armour set for literally ANYTHING."
MJOLNIR is still one of the most expensive items produced by humanity, the reason why there's so many is because the UNSC has invested a lot into the private sector to produce new variants of MJOLNIR. So even if a MJOLNIR variant produced isn't widely adopted, they're still expected to get a profit from the investment.
It looks like crap. So Burrito eating armor + it is over used.

I disagree, Halo 1 & 2 had a legit military theme.
I'm glad you think 80s sci-fi is a military theme.

Installation 04, 05 Onyx, ect. None of those locations ruined the Forerunner Mystery.
Well, actually, if you want to be REALLY techincal Onyx actually did because that's where ONI found the Bornstellar Relation.

Outside of being technical, that doesn't really matter if they didn't ruin the "mystery" as that's irrelevant to discussing whether or not Halo 4 ruined the mystery.

They have murdered the Art style, have you not seen all the pics everyone has been posting, it's a disgrace.
I'm just gonna be right up front: You can't murder an art-style if you never adhered to it to begin with. You seriously think that 343i followed the rules set in place by Bungie's artists?

Do you have a Bungie account called, Lord of Admirals?

Oh yeah, and turning Spartans into military Wal-Mart grunts was literally the worst decision ever.

"yo check out these superhuman beasts that can rival most of the Covenant" - Bungie

"Nah fam, anyone can be a Spartan now lmao" -343
Actually, 343i took a page out of Bungie's playbook on that one.

Do you just have your sound muted or something? even if you did, the way Johnson does he speech - just screams military,
It actually channels cheesy sci-fi - specifically Sgt. Apone from Aliens.
YouTube

We didn't see an authentic non-cheesy sc-fi rip off military feel until the first half of Halo 3 and Reach.

Quote
I know that. that's irrelevant, Mendicant Bias didn't just spoil a large amount of the Forerunner mystery in one swoop, 343.
It's not irrelevant. You claimed there was no build up to what was revealed in Halo 4 when there actually was. As I stated earlier, Mendicant Bias in Halo 3 literally tells you he's sending the Master Chief to the Forerunners. It's further supported in the Legendary ending where we see Requiem, not just that, but Bungie slapped a giant-ass Eld on the surface of Requiem as if it already wasn't enough that there was a giant sign pointing at Requiem saying, "HEY. THERE ARE FORERUNNERS HERE."

Quote
And it's nice to see the majority of the Poll agrees with me.
That's ultimately irrelevant to my statement. How many people prefer Bungie over 343i doesn't refute the fact you're being entirely unreasonable. It's a subjective art style for a toy worked on by hundreds of artists, not a murder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0KSj8nfasQ   / H2Original feels way more militaristic
You've got one cutscene of a Pelican dropping a tank off, and that makes Halo 2 a militaristic game? Even though half the game is from the POV of an alien zealot? And another large chunk of it deals with stopping giant magic rings of doom? You also get introduced to a venus flytrap that talks.

Quote
And ODST has a rather obvious Military theme
You're telling me the detective, film-noir theme takes a back seat to military theme? Yeah, you know what, that's what I think of when I think military: Smooth jazzy saxophone.

The forerunner feel was ruined because 343 just abruptly spilled the beans about them - in 1 GAME. No pacing at all.
Spilling the beans =/= revealing a small facet of their civilization and expanding upon what we learned from the Halo 3 Terminals and the Forerunner Sga. Also, there wasn't exactly no pacing.

Mendicant Bias literally tells you in Halo 3 he's sending you to the Forerunners.

Ensemble did a great job at keeping the Universe familiar with the characters, themes, and soundtrack, despite the game being nothing like the previous games. This is something 343 can't seem to get right, whether is Halo 4, 5, or the Spartan Assault games.
Just curious, what themes?
Music, art style. The militaristic feel, the mysterious forerunner feel. a few examples.
Okay, but there's only been one and a half Halo games with a militaristic approach/feel to them (Reach and the first half of Halo 3). I don't really think that's an adaquete theme to label onto all of Bungie's Halo games.

The mysterious Forerunner feel is also incredibly ambiguous and it ends up becoming a really individual thing for fans that combines graphics, art design, ambient noise, and lore. Soundtrack, eh. Halo 4, you've got an argument there. 4's OST lacked a much needed overarching sound to it that made each track feel very disjointed from one another. For Halo 5, that's since been rectified. Not even that, but it arguably made a similar departure that Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach made from the original trilogy.

As for art style, I think that's a really fair argument. And while I know this won't sway anyone's opinions, I'd like to put it out there that Paul Russel loves 343i's art-style, Vince DeLeon worked on Halo 4's and 5's art style, and Marcus Lehto argued that you need to change the artstyle if you want to keep a series or franchise going on for an extended period of time for Halo.

Gaming / Re: Theory I have regarding Halo
« on: March 01, 2016, 02:52:08 PM »
Here is the abridged version of the theory since I dont feel like typing out a fuck ton:
343i has been teasing the flood's return hard as fuck since before Halo 4 and the events of Halo 5 are a pretense to it:

Warden Eternal is corruped by the logic plague. His contraction of it is probably linked to the miraculously reemergence of the Domain which is being caused by Flood/Precursors somewhere. The Logic Plague is what is causing his seemingly mad assertion that AIs are the true re-claimers of the Mantle, since nothing else I can think of could have convinced a forerunner AI of something so blatantly untrue. The point of him enabling Cortana's power grab is to have control over anything capable of resisting the flood when they return, including the all important Halo Array. With what was set up it would be all to easy for the Warden to spread the Logic plague to not just Cortana who is in control of everything currently, but all of the other AIs too. In fact it's possible that Cortana may have already be corrupted, as it was the Warden who convinced her to carry out the plan, and her general behavior  in Halo 5 seems to be odd to say the least, even when you do factor in her rampancy.

What do you guys think? Did I overlook anything>
No. The Warden Eternal is not showing the signs of logic plague infection, most notably of which is rampancy.

Quote

Is it really so mad?

We all accept the notion that only Reclaimers and Forerunners can activate Halo, yes?

This becomes especially apparent when even though Tartarus has the Index, he needs Miranda to insert it. Or when Truth needs to push a button, he needs Johnson to push it. Yet when Chief needs to activate Installation 04b, Cortana actually activates it. It's not like she inserted the Index's code, and Chief had to authenticate or confirm. She did by herself.

Based on the train of thought I just laid out, we can logically conclude the Cortana IS a Reclaimer.

Gaming / Re: Did 343i Even?
« on: March 01, 2016, 02:15:11 PM »
If anything, they looked more at what would be a compelling obstacle to overcome that would not be in Chief's comfort zone. Cortana proved to be the best choice because Chief is effectively having to combat a part of who he is. It's an internal battle represented externally.

It also works because there is already fiction in place to help explain her character's transition. We see it in Halo CE when she enters the control room, we see it when she interfaces with the Gravemind in between Halo 2 and 3, and we see it when she accesses the largest repository of knowledge in the universe.

Then there's also the pseudo fiction elements of the Cortana Letters that support all of this.
