Halo: Broken Circle CHAPTER 1
Dreadnought Keyship

Conference Deck

The Age of Reconciliation

Despite his current status as Minister of Relic Safety, High Lord Mken ‘Scre’ah’ben—the Prophet of Inner Conviction—was always a bit intimidated by the Chamber of Decision. Those he was expected to worship had presumably sat here, at this long, sweeping translucent table within the Dreadnought. The San’Shyuum used their own chairs, but the rest of the room remained just as the Forerunners had left it. The table itself seemed imbued with fractals, animated nesting scrolls that moved into and out of larger forms: three-dimensional, then two-dimensional, then three again. The area faced not a window so much as simply a transparent wall. The hub of the spiral galaxy itself glowed effulgently blue, in places streamed with scarlet and purple nebulae, wheeling with unspeakable immensity, ever transforming...

Look at all the girls in Mortal Kombat 9

Feminists would have a heart attack when they see how the girls are dressed in that
For the first few weeks of school, MK9 was a huge thing going around my dorm building. Knowing how feminism has recently begun to encroach into gaming, I asked every girl I played with what they thought of how the female fighters were portrayed.

They didn't give a single shit and some even pointed out the guys are sexualized in the same way.

Nov. 10th 2015

Damn, another November release. 343i always has me trudging through the school year.

One thing I miss about Bungie, they started releasing in September. Made the waits so much easier.

Lucky I'm here. My brother has this, it's called dermatographia.

Nothing life threatening, just annoying as hell. It's genetic.

Everything you described lines up exactly with what my brother has said about it.

Isn't Destiny what H2 basically is?

Both were not finished and H3 is essentially a $60 expansion that completes H2. Take the 4 expansions for Destiny and you get $60. So it's kinda the same situation
Only difference is that Halo 2 has a good story until the end and managed to make great innovations despite its shitty gameplay.

I don't get it.
Actually?
Honestily.
Nov. 4th, 2552 is the date the Master Chief assassinated the Prophet of Regret. This event spurred into motion the changing of the guard, and subsequently the great schism.

Nov. 4th, 2014 is the date the novel Halo: Broken Circle hits the shelves. The novel itself covers the seeds planted during the formation of the Covenant that would ultimately lead to the Great Schism.
Oh. That's.. neat, I guess.

Christ that is gorgeous.
Halo 2 still looks breathtaking in its original form to me. I think that is a screenshot from the H2 Vista version, hence the HD-like quality. During the MCC stream on IGN yesterday all these youngster kept saying Halo 2 has terrible graphics and asked why anyone would want to play a ten year old game. When I was 12 those were the best graphics...this generation of gamers is spoiled.
That was made in photoshop.

Why didn't they use the Warthog from H2A campaign, and not the Halo 4 one? I can't stand that thing.
Because H2A is Halo 4 at its base.
Spoiler
YouTube
Have you not been paying attention to the streams and how they talk about the game? The original H2 is there but the "Anniversary" is just H4 Engine with tweaks to make it seem like Halo 2.
Haven't bought an Xbone, lost interest after they announced the maps they chose to remake, and really didn't know there were streams showing it was like Halo 4.

How, is it like Halp 4, again? The shitty loadouts appear to be gone, no sprint, no flinch, and that's kinda it. Other than them being lazy and not remodeling vehicles and weapons and just ripping the files from previous games?
They remodeled most of the weapons to look like their Halo 2 counterparts.

Also, I don't understand, you lost interest because of 6 maps you didn't like? Was 6 maps really the breaking point of spending $60?

Nothing wrong with Master Chief's armor imo.

Spoiler

Here's what I think is wrong with the armor.

1. Should be fiber, not plastic.
2. Looks to be for decoration instead of being an actual mechanism and is completely modeled wrong.
3. This should be black
4. These should be black.

The only understandable complaint is 4.
Same. Plus, I don't get 1. at all.

It's just an unflattering image. This is the military, I don't expect women to be prettied up.

>TFW I'm the only one who thought Chief looked great in the cutscene.

Also, the goofiness of the cutscene? Welcome to trying to modernize a 10 year old game with cheeky dialogue.

At least the Covenant sections will look great since none of the dialogue was half-assed on that end.

Additionally, the goofiness may have arisen out of the fact the cinematic are in the deep thick of the uncanny valley.
Even you're not irked at the things that are wrong with Chief's armor?

Also I don't like the facial animations because everyone's lips are like trampolines hitting each other, and everything is so over exaggerated.
There's nothing inherently "wrong" with it. Yes, minor things are changed, but i frankly am hardly noticing them because Halo 2 OG's textures were so shitty.

The trampoline aspect is probably the uncanny valley. Those facial movements aren't hand animated, that's all mo-cap.

The in game model for Chief more closely resembles him than the model used by Blur.

Also 343i used mocap for their facial animations in Halo 4 too but they didn't look ridiculous like they do in the MCC.
Different tech.

Obviously, I'm getting very Promethean vibes here if you know what I mean.
Actually, I'm getting more of a Flood vibe. 343i has consistently dodged questions asking if the Flood are going to be in the film.

A little disappointed characters are CG, but otherwise it looks solid. Ridley Scott can nail atmosphere.
Huh? Only CG character is the Elite and Impostor Swarm.

Actually, I just did a bit of research and found that there was a SPARTAN-II by the name of Randall-037. He's one of the few truly MIA Spartans.

That connection would be so cool. I'm positive it is. It'd be weird to have two SPARTAN-IIs with the name of Randall.

Interesting. I'm excited for what our first glimpse of Guardians gameplay will look like. And a Colonel that was a spartan. No doubt he will be an interesting character.
We also know he was SPARTAN-II because he's got the ceramic bone ossification scars on his hands.
