345 boating cactus.

Spoiler
Pretty interesting.
Where's that image from?

I'd put money down that it's nightfall.
It is, Axl pisses off Randall and ends up getting socked in the face by him. You can see it in the Nightfall Launch Trailer.

The Halo Universe on Waypoint was activated today.

Thoughts on it:

The lore behind their species is delicious, but god-dammit, I always prided Halo for not taking the easy route of just changing a facial feature on a human and calling it alien.

Forerunners are an obvious exception, but I dislike this.

I can agree with you. So far, all of Halo's alien have been....alien. Humanoid in structure but distinctly alien. The fellow up above reminds me of a batarian minus and extra pair of eyes. He looks out of place in the Haloverse.
The Archive agrees as well. And it displaced lore a bit too. Sangheili were repulsed by how humans looked. Shouldn't they be used to our physiology by that Yonhet?

Theory Time: I've begun formulating they are a Forerunner-Human offshoot, which might explain why they are so good at "sniffing" out Forerunner tech.

Quote
SUMMARY
Axl is a member of the Yonhet, an alien race native to a small moon called Yonhe, and who appear to be very talented at acquiring a large variety of difficult to find items. When the Yonhet initially came in contact with the Covenant, they were viewed as militarily insignificant, and with such a tiny population, there was little value in considering them as full signatories to the Covenant empire. However, their talents and usefulness gave them flexibility and a high degree of tolerance within the Covenant, and their cynical but devoted adherence to the potential benefits of the Great Journey meant that their loyalty was never in question.

The Yonhet are considered part the “Covenant fringe”, a collection of species scattered throughout the Orion Arm that both provide various strategic and infrastructure-related advantages as well as posing no real military threat to Covenant empire. With the war focus shifting, and attentions turned back towards human expansion and rebuilding efforts, ONI and the UNSC are just beginning to gather the first bits of intelligence on the exact nature and size of the Fringe.

Axl and many others of his species largely remained in hiding until the Human-Covenant War was over, both because it was a fight that wasn’t their own, and because the growing scale of the conflict had made exploration and trade much too dangerous and difficult. In the past few years, the Yonhet have begun to emerge in hopes that the coast is clear enough to make a profit from the fleeting peacetime and political uncertainty. In the opinion of more than a few Sangheili, the Yonhet are considered more reliable than even the Kig-Yar. Taking advantage of the chaos and confusion of the Treaty period, fledgling Covenant warlords have begun to turn to the Yonhet more often to take advantage of their natural skill at sniffing out Forerunner relics. The interaction between these new warlords and the fringe species’ varies greatly however. Where some Covenant leaders have seen fit to elevate particular individuals to more trusted roles, others have taken a more oppressive approach. This has led to multiple isolated reports of Yonhet mistreatment and even enslavement by Sangheili warlords desperate for a larger share of the reemerging Covenant power structure.

Gaming / Re: H2A Infection options
« on: November 09, 2014, 11:12:02 PM »
A fact I'd like to point out about the new model, if you were infected like that, an Infection Form would go for your throat and mouth, tearing it apart until it reaches your spinal cord. At that point, you are still alive, and then your body begins to warp out of shape making you contort in extreme pain as it becomes harder to see and breathe, eventually until you are trapped in your own body.

But even then you are not safe, the Infection Form also shares your body too, and it begins to tear apart your memories, scouring and scrambling your mind until it has been ripped to shreds. And at that point, you are dead, but your memories and thought patterns live on, forever belonging to the Flood.

You guys are absolutely ridiculous.

Sprint has its pros and cons. Given the feedback it will most likely be toggleable. Also, descope is back.

Everyone shut up now

Still has sprint.

No buy.
Suck it up. Chances are it's toggleable given the extreme backlash to it in the competitive community.Wait for monday.

There was, he also slid when he had the Magnum out.
That would be the Spartan Abilities.

Also, you all are freaking out over nothing. I fit turns out to be CoD-ADS, then guess what, 343i will remove it. The Beta and footage being shown this early is precisely so they can change significant things if they need to.

Going over the footage, if you notice, the BR is the same exact accuracy as when it was unscoped. The reticle does not change.
Admirals, you and I both know the amount of times that "you're all freaking out about nothing, it's pre-release footage, wait until the game is finished!" was said for Halo 4 was more massive than the Marianas Trench. Hell, I'm this might surprise you, but I spent until 6 or so months after Halo 4 came out strongly supporting 343i. I'm not making that mistake again, last time problems appeared early on, everyone thought 343i would address them and it would all be fine, but that NEVER happened. It's much better to overreact now then wait for it to be too late again.
A fair critique of my viewpoint.

However, I'd like to point that I'm not saying to wait for the game to release, no. I'm saying to wait for official information so we know exactly what to critique and complain about. For all we know, we're wasting our energy on something that we think it's not.

Me telling you not to complain even when official information is released tomorrow is silly. It's detrimental to what 343i is trying to do by releasing info early.

And to be honest, I can deal with ADS as long as its implemented fairly.

But Sprint just kills gameplay. I'll never buy another halo that features sprint.

Well, 343i is going to have a lot to change after the beta...

My thoughts on ADS, as long as ADS simply acts as an animation for scoping-in, and doesn't inhibit player movement, I am perfectly fine with it.

Did they really just reveal the Xel'Naga in a trailer? That's the equivalent of 343i casually showing off the Precursors in a trailer for a new Halo.

lolwut

You mean that tablet that was shown in Wings of Liberty or the Hybrids that were shown both in Wings of Liberties secret mission and in the Protoss Apocalypse visions?
Of course not.

Remember when canon stated that all Spartans had identical armor?

Pepperidge farm remembers.
It twas a simpler time, indeed. Then we needed customization in MP, and suddenly now all Spartans must have their own personalized armor sets that reflect their personality. Because, that's totally how a real military functions.
Actually, if you look at the canonical SPARTANs with different armor, it's suited to their specialization, not their personality.
Fred's specialization of knives is clearly evident, I can see.
Linda, I'm afraid literally cannot see due to having a place to see replaced with a bunch of useless optics.
I didn't know you had the schematics or mechanical understanding of MJOLNIR's visor.

The least you could do, is not look like a total fool by defeating to variants of MJOLNIR with similar designs, or maybe even fancy the notion that those aren't sniper optics.
