Maybe people are "throwing a fit", because it represents the rest of Halo 4's uncut and grotesque additions/inspirations perfectly.  Just a thought.
So something that no longer exists represents tangible features in a game?
It accurately represents where those tangible features got their inspirations from, yes.
You honestly think they built a prototype of a killstreak and then decided to add in custom loadouts and unlockables because of that now non-existent feature?

I feel like everyone here is a bit dense on the reasons behind Halo 4's "radical" changes.

I'm gonna call it, it's Locke and Macer who survive.

The second stories are the best part about this series though.

>TFW everyone is having a fit over content that never saw the light of day

The fact that they even considered it, however briefly, concerns me.
Why?
Because Halo is not Call of Duty.
But it never even made it into the game, so what's there to be upset at?
Because 343 is fucking retarded for even having the idea in the first place.
So, thought crime?

Were you blacklisted from YouTube?

To be fair, they're paid to make games, not talk about them.

Impression is everything though.
Bungie has always been bad at public speaking in general.

You play as Agent Wasche, a CIA agent sent in to dig up incriminating evidence on the Mafia.

When things don't go as planned, Wasche's only method of escape is to go down a laundry chute. Unfortunately, the Mafis anticipated this as an escape route sand rigged it with security systems.

Now Wasche must do everything in his power to avoid balls of laundry, mobsters diving in after him, and the mafia's ins tense security systems.

I get a crazy N+ vibe from that.

Hope it works out Admirals! Didn't even know you folks were working on that. Sounds fun. If it ever makes it to the indie gam store I'd put money down on it!
It's a down scroller, nothing too fancy.

Why?

Because killstreaks have no place in Halo. Relatively balanced multiplayer with superior weapons on the map for anybody to grab is what Halo revolves around. Automatically giving players better equipment for doing well is not what Halo revolves around. There should never have been even one single second where they actually considered adding killstreaks in; it would have completely ruined the perfectly good style of gameplay Halo's had for a decade.
So you're accusing them of thoughtcrime?

I think you're looking into it too much.

Needless to say, the DLC looks good so far, but given the content in it, I'd wish it was cheaper.

Not really, because in the end, they determined it didn't fit within Halo, making the point moot.

You all need to look at this from a game design perspective, not an arrogant fanboy one.
From a design perspective all 343 did was "hey lets barrow from COD and ME because they're popular".
Welcome to game design.

"Hey, that game does this mechanic really well, let's try and put it into our game. Does it work with what we're trying to accomplish? Nope. Okay, cut it."

The Flood / Re: The Star Wars prequels are polar opposites to the sequels
« on: November 23, 2014, 05:29:42 PM »
Honestly prefer the prequels of the sequels. Biggest reason was the combat, especially lightsaber duels, were far more entertaining and adrenaline rushing
See, I disagree.

In the OT, knowing how to use a light saber is knowing how to fence.

Fencing requires deep concentration and anticipation. As a result, the state the combatants are in shows through their dueling.

It's a much more emotionally charged than the heavily sterile choreographed fights of the PT.

In the final battle, Anakin is in a state of pure rage, yet he's fighting in the same way Obi-Wan is.

Look at the final battle between Luke and Vader and you see the emotional battle the characters are fighting, Luke is pissed, so he starts swinging with abandon, ignoring any thoughts of blocking, while Vader, not wanting to strike down his own son, is completely reserved, only bothering to defend.

It's beautiful really.

Septy, if anything, it sounds like your family is tight on money because your sister is getting $50 a day. Also, your parents are adults, are they not?

Even if you think they don't give a shit, bring it up with them. Explain why it's unjust. Tell them what your sister is spending the money on.

It's a really simple fix. Unless your parents are just shitty people and don't give a shit their daughter is drinking and partying with their money.

Welcome back to classic Halo, where no one is happy, and everyone is pissed at something in the game.

Gaming / Re: Halo 3 is the best game in the MCC
« on: November 23, 2014, 01:21:34 PM »
I think the main reason halo 3 sucks story wise is because they were forced to do that cliffhanger in halo 2 when h3 and h2 were meant to be the same game. They even had to cut out a couple of missions that led up to the start of halo 3. When I first played h3 it just made me feel like the halo 3 campaign was half assed and needed more(which was bungie's original plan for it)
There's a lot more reasons why the story sucks. Incompetent characters, plot contrivances, biggest plot hole I've ever seen ever, cheesy dialogue, and a shitty version of the awesomeness that was the Halo 2 Gravemind.
