The ultimate goal would be to become the opposite sex. This is unarguably impossible at this time. Until such a time that someone can be altered post-birth on a genetic level, a transperson can only make themselves as close to that as possible. Outside of Tumblr and similar special snowflake hugboxes, you will only sparsely find people who legitimately believe that they are "actually" (in the sense you are arguing) men or women. Right. Because I mean, how do you know if you're a man or a woman in your head if you've never been the opposite? The obvious solution is to just identify as whatever makes you personally comfortable, because it ultimately doesn't matter.

Some people are born with mental disorders.
A subset of mental disorders is delusional disorders.
It's unethical to stand idly by and allow someone affected by a mental disorder to live out their delusions. You should do something to help.
While TGs undoubtedly have every right to change their gender, that doesn't make it an intelligent or good choice. You could make the same argument for homosexuality. You sound like a Christian fundy right now.
