don't be taking this too seriously now
SecondClass is serving 25-to-life after beating his first son to death, after discovering that he was transgender. He is currently trying to lower his sentence by claiming to be a woman.
Das is approaching millionaire status after writing a controversial and scandalizing children's book wherein he strategically places subtle phallic imagery within each and every page--resulting in the book going viral, and becoming the highest (and fastest) selling children's book of all time.
Decimator Omega didn't make it the next twenty years. He died in 2021 after an explosion destroyed his home spontaneously. The cause of the explosion remains unknown, but someone managed to salvage his computer's hard-drive. The last page he had accessed was purportedly a local attorney's Facebook page. When accosted for information on the boy's death, the lawyer stated in a somber tone, "I didn't add him."
i had a bunch more in mind, but i don't think i'm gonna top that last one

I originally had this long-ass essay written up about this, but then I realized that I could just summarize this all in a few sentences... <_< I like to overdramatize things, especially if they're about me.
Well, as of today, Ramadan has officially ceased. I made it. I can start eating at decent times, I can mouth off all I want to, and I don't have to pray to Allah six times a day or whatever.
So what did I learn from it?
Well, two things: - Jack shit - Fuck all
Okay, nah. There actually were a couple of things that I gathered from the experience. - A slightly greater appreciation for food (pretty much a given) - A degree of self-control and discipline - People tend to respect me more if I'm not saying "fuck" every other sentence.
At its core, the purpose of Ramadan is to exhibit in oneself a degree of self-control, and to strive to be a positive contributor to your community, eg. be the best person you can be, and all that junk. I think I've succeeded, for the most part--both online and offline.
Would I do it again?... Probably not, but we'll see, I guess.
I wouldn't recommend it for... anyone. That goes for any Islamic activity, to be honest. But uh, yeah, I guess that's it. Happy eid.

...they just didn't know what to do?...
You take one of your friends who has only ever played CoD, Halo, Battlefield, Runescape, Candy Crush, and Clash of Clans, and you say, "Hey, let me show you a real game." You have them play Super Metroid, for example.
...And they can't do it. Their brains shut down. As you're watching them play, they're jumping straight into enemies, only jumping straight up in the air, never crouching... Never doing the most basic of maneuvers. And then they get frustrated and quit after five minutes, usually after their first death. And then they'll say, "I don't know what to do, I don't know how to play."
Bonus points if they mention the graphics sucking.
Conversely, maybe you've had a parent who's played a lot of retro games, and they can't seem to get into anything past the SNES era. They might be able to play simple platformers on PS2, like Ratchet & Clank, but when it comes to playing anything that's in first person, they don't get it, either. They don't understand the concept that there are two sticks on the controller that you're supposed to use simultaneously. Often, they'll say, "There's just too many buttons, and it confuses me."
it's like, have you tried pressing the buttons to see what they do?... it's the most frustrating thing to watch, ever
i'm not expecting mastery from people who have never played a game before but i swear, it's like people don't even try

http://www.theverge.com/2015/7/14/8965585/fight-club-rock-opera-david-fincher-trent-reznorWith Trent Reznor on the soundtrack. Author Chuck Palahniuk has been delving back into Fight Club, the work he's most famous for — first with the Fight Club 2 comic, the official sequel to his novel (and by extension the wildly popular film of the same name). Now we're hearing more about another extension to the Fight Club franchise, though like the comic book it's not in a media that you might expect. Over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Palahniuk reportedly told entertainment reporter Jeff Goldsmith that director David Fincher was working on a Fight Club "rock opera" alongside his longtime musical cohort Trent Reznor. The pairing makes a lot of sense; Fincher directed the original film, while Reznor has provided the soundtrack for Fincher's last three movies. ...Huh. I actually knew that Trent had interest in doing such a thing for a long time, but now it's... confirmed. also: >"a media" >"reportedly told entertainment reporter" quality journalism

All right, just gonna go straight to it today. Got some real doozies this time. Still taking submissions, as always. Archive June 10th, 2015 - Salubrious, Defenestrate, FremdschämenJune 11th, 2015 - Ephemeral, Convalesce, OnericJune 12th, 2015 - Antepenultimate, Vituperative, GaucherieJune 13th, 2015 - Karezza, Kindergraph, KyriolexyJune 17th, 2015 - Videlicet, Effervescent, CuckoldJune 19th, 2015 - Anhedonia, Penury, CopaceticJuly 10th, 2015 - Tintinnabulation, Acerbic, Tendentious Thanks to: Pendulate (submission: anhedonia) Meta Cognition (submission: sesquipedalian) The following word was submitted by Meta Cognition:Sesquipedalian - / ses - kwip - eh - DAY - lee - ihn/ Derived from the Latin sesquipedalis, meaning "a foot and a half long".I honestly wasn't going to accept this submission at first, because I felt like it was too common, but it's just too much fun. It's a word you use to describe other words that are polysyllabic, or words that are very long or take a lot of effort to say or write. It can also be used to describe individuals who use such words. He was intimidating to speak to, because of his unwaveringly austere tone, and his loquacious, sesquipedalian verbiage. It's an eccentric word to describe eccentric people. Autological - / AW - toh - LAW - jih - kuhl/ [autologic] [autologically] From the Greek auto meaning "self", and the Greek logos meaning "word" or "reason".Here's a simple, but useful one. If a word is autological, that means that the word itself represents an example of its definition. For example--the word featured earlier, sesquipedalian, is a rather sesquipedalian word in and of itself, isn't it? It's autological. Another good example is the word "awkward". It's spelled kinda, well, awkwardly. There's a "w", a "k", and then another "w". There's no other English word that's quite like that. As a bonus word, the opposite of an autological word is a heterological word--or a word that expresses an example of the opposite of its definition. For example: "Big" is a small word, and "infinitesimal" is a big word, even though they both mean "large" and "tiny", respectively. Can you think of any other autological/heterological words? Now I really feel like I'm on a children's cartoon... Vermicular - / ver - MIK - yoo - lur/ From the Latin vermis, meaning "worm".Here's a good one to use on your enemies. It even starts with a "V", my favorite letter! Anyway, vermicular--definitely something you don't want to be, because it means worm-like. You might have heard the term "vermiform" before? That means to be literally shaped like a worm, but vermicular is something a little bit more personal. When you call someone vermicular, you're essentially diminishing them to the lowly status of a worm. Do be wary that it is indeed an adjective, however. That means you can't just call someone "a vermicular"--it's a word used to qualify a noun, so, you could say that someone is a "vermicular cretin", or a "vermicular piece of shit". Whatever you want. I don't mean to insult the intelligence of those who already know how basic English works, but I've seen a couple people try to use some of my words before, and sometimes the results are... messy. I didn't think I'd have to include a parts-of-speech code to these things, but at some point, I may have to. <_<
Well, I hope you guys aren't hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobes.

I was looking through my old YouTube favorites when I rediscovered a few episodes of Freeman's Mind. I was like, "Oh, I loved this show. Haven't watched in years. I wonder if he ever completed it?"
Turns out, he did. Currently on a binge-watch of it right now <_< It's as good as ever.
But then it occurred to me--do people even watch machinima anymore?... When I think about it, it seems so... 2007.
I've only ever watched two series all the way through: Freeman's Mind (which I'm in the process of completing) and this SSBM machinima called Smashtasm, which... watching the episodes nowadays is pretty cringeworthy. I can't believe I ever liked it.
How about you guys? I know Halo was super prevalent in the machinima community--especially with Red vs. Blue, but I could never get into that boring-ass crap.
Edit: Also, this probably belongs in Gaming, now that I think about it.

Well, now that our Smash 3DS tourney has come to a close (congrats to CK), and the Wii U tourney is just around the corner, I thought it might be fun to have a quick little (unofficial) Pokémon tourney, with an Eeveelution theme, in the interim. The basic premise is simple: You'll be randomly assigned an Eeveelution, and you'll be pitted against all other Eeveelutions in a 1v1, round robin type format. The first Pokémon tournament I ever entered was actually one of these. I was given Vaporeon (who I named "Verboreon"), and I ended up coming out on top, even winning it out against a Jolteon (don't ask how). It was a lot of fun, and ultimately, it's what ended up making me interested in competitive Pokémon. So I thought I'd bring it here. Detailed rules: 1. We will use Pokémon Showdown (so Smogon rules will be in effect). 2. Round robin format. 3. Matches will be best of 3 (winners get two points; losers can get at least one point). 4. Whoever has the most points after all matches have been played wins the tourney. 5. Eeveelutions will be assigned at random. 6. You may change any aspect of your Eeveelution (moves, items, abilities, gender, etc.) but only between matches. 7. You may NOT change any aspect of your Eeveelution between the rounds of a match. The grand prize for this tourney is... nothing, because this is just for fun (unless someone has any ideas). If you do feel like joining, I'll give you until next Saturday (July 18th) to do it. I'm honestly not sure if anyone's even gonna be interested. Participants: 1. Verbatim 2. CK97 3. Luis 4. Suarez 5. Pichu 6. TBlocks 7. Tyger 8. Das Oh, and Eeveelutions will be assigned once eight players have signed up, or until sign-ups are over. This is to prevent opportunists. And any questions/concerns/comments about the rules will be heard. HERE IS THE BRACKET: http://challonge.com/sep7eeveelutionglhf

Coming back edition. Not gonna give up doing these just yet--I've been preoccupied with other things lately, but now I have a slew of these prepared. I'm still taking submissions, too, if anyone's interested. <_< All right, let's begin: Archive June 10th, 2015 - Salubrious, Defenestrate, FremdschämenJune 11th, 2015 - Ephemeral, Convalesce, OnericJune 12th, 2015 - Antepenultimate, Vituperative, GaucherieJune 13th, 2015 - Karezza, Kindergraph, KyriolexyJune 17th, 2015 - Videlicet, Effervescent, CuckoldJune 19th, 2015 - Anhedonia, Penury, Copacetic Thanks to: Pendulate (submission: anhedonia) Tintinnabulation - / tin - tin - ab - yoo - LAY - shun/ [tintinnabulate] [tintinnabulates] [tintinnabulating] [tintinnabulated] [tintinnabulator] From the Latin tinnire, meaning "to ring"; from the compound tintinnabulum, meaning "tinkling bell"Have you ever fallen down on a hard surface, or have something strike you directly in the head at a high velocity? Did you hear a high-pitched ringing sound accompanying the sharp pain? What you heard could be described as tintinnabulation. It's a tiny, barely audible, yet distinct ringing sound--usually from somewhere unknown, but the word is associated most often with bells. I love the word, personally, because of how needlessly extended it is, especially when describing such subtle phenomena. Acerbic - / uh - SER - bik/ From the Latin acerbus, meaning "sour-tasting"You know that done-to-death character archetype that's been overflowing narratives as of late? The one who always sits back and makes cutting gibes at everything. "Bitter realist", "deadpan snarker", whatever you want to call him--his personality could be described as acerbic. Notice how it kinda sounds like "acidic". An acerbic personality is one that is very blunt and forthright. They typically have no tact or consideration for other people's feelings, and simply express their thoughts entirely unfiltered--usually in a very biting fashion. Entertaining to watch on screen, or read in text, but of course, one should try to avoid coming off acerbic in real life. Tendentious - / ten - DEN - chihs/[/size] [tendentiousness] Etymology unknown; likely of German origin.I do enjoy that some of the coolest words in the English language can be used to describe me. If someone is tendentious, they're something of a rabble-rouser. They have a tendency to a particular cause. They like to jump on whatever soapbox they can in order to promote unpopular points of view, rousing the public and introducing something of a debate amongst them. Evangelical Christians often espouse their tendentious philosophies in otherwise religiously apathetic public forums. Typically, the word has a negative connotation--it's used especially to denounce such behavior, and while it's not necessarily an insult, it's often used with vitriolic intent. Use it wisely.
I actually had a great word in mind as I was tweaking things up, but I forgot what it was. Dammit. Maybe next time.

And by "worst" I obviously mean your least favorite.
- Metalcore (probably my #1) - Death metal - Bluegrass - Country pop - Christian rock
Dishonorable mentions go out to nu-metal and glam metal (even though I still have a soft spot for some artists in those genres).
Try not to blanket entire genres. Narrow it down to a subgenre. Otherwise, we're just gonna see five things: country, hip hop, screamo, dubstep, and mainstream pop.
