huh I thought you'd at least somewhat enjoy Perfect Blue.
If I hadn't already seen films like Black Swan or Enemy prior to it, I probably would've enjoyed it a lot more. Though I agree, 4/10 is probably too harsh. In fairness, even if I ultimately enjoyed those two films more, both of them came out several decades after Perfect Blue, so I should probably give it some more credit. Or who knows, maybe part of me just doesn't want to admit that I enjoyed an anime. If nothing else, I obviously appreciated the underlying themes of "fanservice is cancer; human beings are not mere objects," etc. but at the same time, I felt like how the rape scenes were animated kind of undermined that message a little bit. It fell into the same trap (though to a much lesser extent) as shows like Kill La Kill and that Me!Me!Me! where they flash a bunch of sexualized imagery in your face to prove the point that fanservice is silly. It just seems very counterintuitive, but Perfect Blue was made in the late 80s, so clearly, it's gonna be a bit more tame on that front. I've talked about this before, but I really think rape scenes have to be filmed or animated very carefully in order to work, and I just haven't seen it done well in an anime yet. It always feels like the animators were jerking themselves off the whole time, which logically goes against the nature of a rape scene, right? You're not supposed to enjoy it. It's not supposed to be erotic, yet it's always shot in a sexually provocative way. That's always annoying. I also wasn't impressed with the VAing or the art design. That said, if I rewatched it, it could easily go up to a 5/10 or even a 6/10. I agree that 4/10 is probably too low. A lot of my scores could probably be revised if I gave it a second watch--I'm just short on time these days.

Whereas TTGL never took itself seriously at all, Code Geass doesn't know whether or not to take itself seriously. One episode is stupid high school antics and the next one is literally "MUH WAR AND WE WERE KNIGHTS N SHEEIITT!" It's just a stupid fucking roller coaster of nonsense but it was still one Hell of a wild ride when I first watched it.
okay whatever i'll watch them next eva comes first

Dude PLEASE, I want your full unfiltered thoughts on the entirety of both.
i could probably do eva since it's (apparently) supposed to be the citizen kane of anime, and it's important or whatever but i'm gonna need a reason to watch code geass all the way through, other than you wanting me to

Holy shirt Verb this is fucking great. Please move Eva and Code Geass up to your top priorities and fully watch and review them, PLEASE.
>fully watch >50 episodes total you're asking a lot of me

I don't think heavier bone mass is socially constructed....
It's not. Race is. The idea is that black people with heavier bone mass just happen to be black. Bone mass is not intrinsically tied to race, because pretty much nothing is.

Environmental differences still aren't biological?
No.

>Here's biological differences >Yeah but it's still socially constructed
I believe you when you say the (((higher ones))) are just trying to pit us goy against each other, but lets be real here.
Neither of you listed any differences that can't be explained by environmental conditioning.

i've been watching a lot of anime since january you people are fucking tasteless shitheads Dragon Ball - I had to stop at episode 28. Hated all the characters except for Goku himself, and Yamcha to an extent. Its relentlessly perverted sense of humor started to grate on my brain after awhile. If it could go a single episode without making a dumb sex joke involving Bulma's breasts, maybe the show would've been more tolerable--especially when it's clear that it's meant for babies. I'm surprised I made it as far as I did, to be honest. 5/10Astro Boy - Stopped at episode 3. An interesting piece of Japanese animation history that warrants little more than a respectful glance today. 5/10Akira - Mostly boring and kinda dumb. The aesthetic was nice, though. 5/10Perfect Blue - I only watched this because there's a shot-for-shot homage to it in one of my favorite films, Requiem for a Dream. Unfortunately, it wasn't anywhere near as interesting as that movie. I found myself bored and wanting it to end about 10 or 20 minutes in, and though I plowed through it, I wasn't at all rewarded for my patience. 4/10Ghost in the Shell - Complete waste of time. I have so much I could say about this stupid-ass movie and how much it pissed me off, but it's more than I care to fit in this three-sentence blurb. I'd probably just end up pissing other people off anyway. Point is, I hated it, and this is a shining example of why anime is such a godawful medium. 2/10My Neighbor Totoro - Boring and safe, like every Miyazaki movie. 5/10Spirited Away - 5/10Princess Mononoke - 4/10Ponyo - 3/10Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Stopped at episode 3. What can I say about it? It's terrible. I think even most anime fans would agree. 2/10Princess Jellyfish - Stopped at episode 3. Don't have much to say about it. 3/10Spice & Wolf - Stopped at episode 6. Everything about this show annoyed me, except for the premise. It had its moments, but they were heavily overshadowed by stereotypical dumb anime bullshit. 4/10Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - I actually finished this series. Like a trainwreck, it was just difficult to look away. I don't think I need to go into my thoughts on this show, because my thoughts on it have been on record for ages. Simply put, it is the perfect amalgam of everything I detest about not only anime--not only Japan--but the human race and life itself. It truly has it all. The good news is, I will likely never see a more vomit-inducing show for the rest of my life, and that's honestly quite comforting to know. 1/10Kill La Kill - Stopped at episode 2. 1/10Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Finished. 1/10Inuyasha - Stopped at episode 5. Dragon Ball for girls. 4/10Pokémon - I watched this throughout my childhood, and I've revisited it several times, so I'm heavily biased in its favor. Though bad, the characters are all pretty great, and the dialogue is wonderful as long as you don't take everything too seriously. It has some of the best humor of any Japanese show I've ever watched. Probably my favorite anime, and most likely always will be. 5/10My watchlist (no particular order) Grave of the Fireflies Cowboy Bebop Baccano Lupin III Fullmetal Alchemist Neon Genesis Evangelion Psycho-Pass Death Note Attack on Titan Dragon Ball Z Bleach One Piece Naruto Yu Yu Hakusho JoJo's Bizarre Adventure FLCL Code Geass Steins; Gate Samurai Champloo Haruhi Suzumiya One Punch Man Elfen Lied Ergo Proxy K-On Hunter x Hunter Toradora Akame ga Kill! Fate/Stay Night Clannad Angel Beats! Mobile Suit Gundam Black Lagoon Boku no Pico Sword Art Online Space Dandy Log Horizon Ping Pong: The Animation Currently slogging through and alternating between the big four, just to get them out of the way.

I saw you could cheese a electricity centric puzzle with metal weapons. Thats some attention to detail.
Weird, my friend just told me about how he did that. Playing again for the first time in a week or so.

I am unsure whether I'd be bored of the experience after around 20 hours. Is there an exploration cycle you find yourself falling into, and if so what is it? Does it get tiresome? If I picked up the game I would play it for exploring the world. I've spoiled the story for myself and don't really like its execution, so I would probably avoid it.
I think I'm getting at "is the gameplay experience worth the investment?"
Indubitably.

2) It's very easy to cheese a lot of shrines. For example, I ran into 4 or 5 shrines that dealt with getting to a platform before a ball rolls into a receptacle. Yeah, I could do that, OR I could just freeze the ball right next to its destination with that one gadget that's sorta emphasized in the majority of the game's puzzles...and then casually stroll over to the platform. I've seen people do some intricate things like use bombs to propel themselves over fences - no, it's nothing like that. The shrine is practically begging me to abuse a core mechanic like this: it took less time to think about, set up, and pull off than it would have to do things normally. I consider the ability to solve shrines in multiple ways to be a good thing, actually. The rest, I can find myself agreeing with, though I don't care as much about your issue with the rain. Yeah, it certainly rains a bit too often, and there could've been ways to make it less annoying, but it's never been a large nuisance for me.
