Once again, the final update will be done once the tournament is over.
I'll make an awards thread for the top four.
Despite the fact that only a few people actually got everything done, I thought this tournament went rather well, for the first one I've ever hosted, anyway. I think the main problems were the fact that there was so many people to fight, and having such a vast deadline made some people complacent and procrastinatory. Because of these issues, I don't think I'll host another Pokémon tourney again, but I will be glad to keep records for anyone else who's up for it.

If you don't finish your matches, the final score will be treated as-is. So, if you only had one match, and won, and you have two points, your final score will be two points. It's not perfect, but I actually did not anticipate this many people to stop giving a shit <_< I'm not gonna push people.

Right now, I would argue that what I'm doing right now, arguing, that's a skill that I have, and I'm putting it to use through talking to people over the Internet. That's the tiny little difference that I'm trying to make with that particular skill. And that little skill alone is more productive than all the Superbowls and all the World Series combined.

And with sports, the costs involved are absolutely extortionate in practically every single facet. Human suffering and cash money. Sports accomplish nothing in return. What did we gain when the Patriots won the Superbowl? The cure for cancer? The panacea for all life's troubles? No. It accomplished jackshit.

We can play chess, like Sandtrap said. Hell, we can even still play sports if we REALLY want to.
