EXCEPT FOR VERBATIM, RIGHT?
Wrong. Notice how I never said I was intelligent, you worthless cunt.

Everyone here is a fucking idiot, including me. The fact that you didn't realize that that's what I was saying initially makes you even stupider than the average person here.

Once again, the final update will be done once the tournament is over.

I'll make an awards thread for the top four.

Despite the fact that only a few people actually got everything done, I thought this tournament went rather well, for the first one I've ever hosted, anyway. I think the main problems were the fact that there was so many people to fight, and having such a vast deadline made some people complacent and procrastinatory. Because of these issues, I don't think I'll host another Pokémon tourney again, but I will be glad to keep records for anyone else who's up for it.

If you don't finish your matches, the final score will be treated as-is. So, if you only had one match, and won, and you have two points, your final score will be two points. It's not perfect, but I actually did not anticipate this many people to stop giving a shit <_< I'm not gonna push people.

I think I've come to a conclusion with this group that some (I don't wanna say quite a few) people have so far out opinions on things, that they think they are enlightened or smarter than the average bear because they don't think the way everyone else does. They think they "see it for what it really is" and believe in this false notion that they're highly intelligent and enlightened.
What else am I supposed to think if nobody has proven me wrong in the last two years that I've held my more extreme beliefs?

Not everyone is going to be a doctor and try to find the cure for cancer. People have different skills.
And everyone can do something useful with those skills. Right now, I would argue that what I'm doing right now, arguing, that's a skill that I have, and I'm putting it to use through talking to people over the Internet. That's the tiny little difference that I'm trying to make with that particular skill. And that little skill alone is more productive than all the Superbowls and all the World Series combined.

What did we gain? Well we had entertainment.

But what did the Pats and the NFL gain? Billions of dollars.
For a useless game that accomplishes nothing of substance. Entertainment is worth nothing. We have enough fucking mindless entertainments already. And if one form of entertainment involves the physical extortion of efforts, all for a frivolous game, it's not worth it. It's not worth it at all.

How about building youself for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS and then at the end there are 1000's of losers.

Its called the education system and job market.

Its not broken. And the only people who think that its broken, are the people who didn't work hard enough. The losers.
My whole point is that there should be no winners OR losers. The entire concept of having a "winner" and a "loser" is fucktarded, unless there is no real cost involved. And with sports, the costs involved are absolutely extortionate in practically every single facet. Human suffering and cash money. Sports accomplish nothing in return. What did we gain when the Patriots won the Superbowl? The cure for cancer? The panacea for all life's troubles? No. It accomplished jackshit.

That humans are stupid creatures? We all agree on this.
My argument is that humans are stupid, yes--that's the fundamental root of pretty much all of my beliefs--but it's my contention that we can be better than that. We can play chess, like Sandtrap said. Hell, we can even still play sports if we REALLY want to. If you wanna waste your life, risking serious injury, to the point where you might even paralyze yourself, you can go right ahead. Just don't fucking glamorize it or make it a fucking multibillion dollar industry.

Any system where it's your job to build yourself, build yourself, build yourself for months and months and months, training hard, straining yourself, risking serious injury, only to play in a competition where hundreds of players enter, and lose, WASTING all that heart and effort, is a broken system. For every winner, there are a hundred losers. And each one of those losers went through a fuck of a lot to win, and they lost. If you think think that's something that should continue, you're just a fucking moron. You're just too fucking stupid for words.

Stupid people rioting have nothing to do with athletes and competition.
Except if we didn't care as much as we do about stupid fucking sports, there would be less rioting.
