The Flood / Re: Verb gives his shitty opinions on anime (redux) #FuckAnime
« on: February 17, 2018, 09:40:10 PM »
all right, time to shovel off the last few scraps of the '95 plate

as usual, i don't have a lot to say about any of this stuff, because it's mostly just random garbage that nobody else likes either, yet i'm still obligated to watch in order for me to be able to say "i've seen every anime ever made"

Nurse Angel Ririka SOS (Studio Gallop, 1995, two episodes) I wish I had more to say about these dumb mahou shoujo shows, but they just never offer me very much. 4/10

Catnapped! (Studio Hibari, 1995, completed) This is one of the most obnoxious things I've ever seen, but I'd be lying if I didn't at least somewhat appreciate the imaginative visuals to SOME degree. 2/10

Neighborhood Story (Toei, 1995, one episode) More of the same bullshit, but credit where credit's due to the art style, which is fairly unique by anime standards. You can still tell it was made in Japan, but it's kind of striking all the same. 3/10

Galaxy Fraulein Yuna (J.C.Staff, 1995, one episode) I am now watching OVAs that were released and made to be watched exclusively on old PC-ROM games that nobody played in the mid-90s. I have officially lost control of my life. 2/10

Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy (AIC, 1995, one episode) This one's kinda interesting. It's an OVA that "recasts" characters from the Tenchi Muyo! series, giving them entirely different roles in a totally disconnected(?) show. Almost as if they weren't just cartoons, but real people playing characters. I've never seen anything like that before. Points for originality, I suppose. 3/10

Battle Skipper (Artmic, 1995, one episode) The only thing I'm skipping here is the rest of this OVA. 1/10

Hyper Doll (Triangle Staff, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Sorcerer Hunters (Xebec, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Kouryuu no Mimi: Mina no Shou (Unknown studio, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Gotou ni Naritai. (Unknown studio, 1995, completed) 4/10

the last things i have to watch now from this year:

Virtua Fighter. I'm saving this one for last, because not only is it based on one of my all-time favorite fighting game franchises, it was also released on my birthday. And it doesn't even look half-bad, honestly. So hopefully, by watching this one last, I'll have ended 1995 on a positive note.

Red Hawk - Weapon Of Death. This is a movie, and it looks very very bad, so I've been putting it off for a long time.

Neon Genesis Evangelion + Death & Rebirth + End of Evangelion. Given that many people still regard Eva as one of the most important shows ever, if not the best ever created, I'm not opposed to giving it another chance. I didn't watch either of the two films last time, because I simply didn't care to, but I'll go ahead and watch them too. I definitely don't expect to completely turn around on this show, having disliked it initially, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get to the bottom of why people seem to like it so much.

And then Majackou, Gunsmith Cats, The Silent Service, Gakkou no Yuurei, and Shin Kaitei Gunkan.

Then I move on to 1996.

they were never special, as turkey said

they're just tools that filmmakers use because they can, not because they're supposed to be cooler or whatever

that said, mad max: fury road was the last movie to wow me with both its practical effects AND its special effects

YouTube

but i can totally see why or how someone could become jaded over them

Yes because being able to afford bread means we have plenty of it
no

it doesn't

it literally means the exact opposite
Quote
I for one enjoy going down the cereal aisle at my local Public and being able to choose whatever cereal I want from plenty of brands and types, based solely on my preference because the prices are so damn low I don't even need to contemplate it.
brand-name cereals are not exclusive to capitalism

If you hate yourself because you were born white then you should kill yourself.

If you think communism is a good idea then you're just fucking retarded.

Modern Feminism is absolutely pointless

Shitty parenting is the reason for most of this generation's problems.
being right about everything is not the same thing as being radical
yes it is.
what a retard

Pokemon exists because of Capitalism
No, it doesn't. It exists because some person in Japan had an idea, and nothing about communism, or any other economic system, prevents people from having ideas (it in fact promotes having ideas).
Late-stage capitalism is the reason you can sit around bitching about how much you hate it on a dead forum while being a complete and utter waste of human life.
Nope, my first amendment rights actually have absolutely nothing to do with "late-stage capitalism."

That might actually be the most unrelated thing mentioned so far.

Try harder, but don't strain yourself.

Cause I'm not fucking with anybody personally affected by it.
i just don't see a point in drawing this distinction

either you're okay with all of it, or you're against all of it

nobody's life has more value than anyone else's just because you know them
You're drawing that distinction. Charlie's life isn't inherently more valuable than any of these dead kids. The point is I didn't make a post laughing about either incident. I was making fun of the shooter, not the situation. Mark is here saying "heh maybe you should've masturbated more lmao" to some guy who thinks he has cancer. The huge difference here is he's laughing at somebody's misery to their face. I made a joke about the shooter because he's a piece of shit. Maybe if you didn't ignore the rest of my post where I literally just said this you wouldn't keep asking stupid questions.
there is no difference

regardless of who you were making fun of, you still tried to make light of a shitty situation with a dumb joke, and are therefore a hypocrite

none of my questions are stupid just because you realize this and are too ashamed to admit it

You should fap more. Visit doctor and check if it`s cancer really.
What type of stupid fucking joke is this? OP might have cancer and you're making your sick perverted jokes. God what the hell is wrong with this place
Wasn’t your first post in the Florida shooter thread “PICKLE RICKERS IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT”
Had I posted that as a response to you if you had posed that a friend or family member of yours had been killed, then yes, maybe you could make this post and it would make me a hypocrite. However, that isn't the case. Unfortunately you will continue to be a fucking dumbass piece of shit.

Do you break down and cry after the weekly school shooting?
i don't break down and cry ever

why does that make it less tasteless just because no one is personally connected to these people

I was actually kidding about all that leftism stuff im a facsist now. im racist
I mean you can totally be on the right and be against authoritarianism.
No such thing as right-wing dictatorship. Right-wing supports limited government.
That's a gross oversimplification of the political spectrum, the right has always been for maintaining the status quo, the left has always been anti-status quo. The left has anti-authoritarian ideologies, such as Anarcho-Communism, Anarcho-Syndicalism, which are against all authority and the like, and the right has ideologies such as Anarcho-Capitalism, which is against government but for corporate control.
we don't take this person seriously

Anarcho-Communist
Isn't this like an oxymoron?

No, it's a genuine and highly thought out ideology, I hope you aren't one of those "Socialism is when the government does stuff" types. As Communism, in it's truest form, is stateless.
How is it possible to achieve true communism without the state intervening? Considering the fact that millions of people wouldn't go along with it.

All Communism is, is community controlled means of production. With people giving according to their ability, and receiving according to their needs. Tyrants like Stalin ruled in state capitalism and called it communism.
Geez, when you reduce complex ideologies down like that you can make almost anything sound appealing.
i challenge you to make capitalism sound appealing

not a bad idea, since i'm planning on capping it off by rewatching EVA as well for similar reasons

i have a hundred fun games at my disposal, and they all have a point to them beyond just "fun"

so why play this one

what do you do besides the monotonous bullshit that CMD just described

could i get you to buy any game by just telling you that it's fun

ian is just a weird guy

i'm not sure if this is something he still does, did frequently, or was a one-off thing that makes more sense in context

but he is known to have dressed up as a japanese schoolgirl before, for fun, and neither less than nor equal to zero times
