depends what time it's at, but i'll give it a go.
As soon as enough people sign up, you'll be able to make your own time to set up matches with everyone.

i have one IRL friend who is a dank memer.

we talk about stuff on 4chan a lot.
i can't... imagine

i mean, i don't have any inhibitions against talking about internet stuff in "real life", because the internet is real life, and i always believed that separating the two is unhealthy

but generally speaking, i would never think to bring up 4chan in any conversation offline

Ha, no I mean what's your reasoning for saying they're stupid? I totally get that you think drinking is wrong (though I think you ought to try it in a controlled environment so you can at least judge it from experience), but moderate drunkenness makes sex really great. Obviously it goes without saying that that's assuming the couple are consenting adults.

so i just said "nice meme" in the most ingratiating voice ever
he just smiled and laughed

have you ever encountered a meme offline

having sex with a drunk person
or getting drunk in the first place
These are like the two most fun things a human could ever do.
and they're both unconscionably stupid

Oh, and only join if you know for sure that you'll be able to play. A big issue we had with our last Pokétourney was that, though we had eighteen people signed up, almost half of them ended up dropping out (after keeping a lot of people waiting). I'd rather not that happen again, if you'd please. <_<

Gaming / Pokémon Mini-Tourney: Eeveelution 1v1s
« on: July 11, 2015, 05:16:36 PM »
Well, now that our Smash 3DS tourney has come to a close (congrats to CK), and the Wii U tourney is just around the corner, I thought it might be fun to have a quick little (unofficial) Pokémon tourney, with an Eeveelution theme, in the interim.

The basic premise is simple: You'll be randomly assigned an Eeveelution, and you'll be pitted against all other Eeveelutions in a 1v1, round robin type format.

The first Pokémon tournament I ever entered was actually one of these. I was given Vaporeon (who I named "Verboreon"), and I ended up coming out on top, even winning it out against a Jolteon (don't ask how). It was a lot of fun, and ultimately, it's what ended up making me interested in competitive Pokémon. So I thought I'd bring it here.

Detailed rules:
1. We will use Pokémon Showdown (so Smogon rules will be in effect).
2. Round robin format.
3. Matches will be best of 3 (winners get two points; losers can get at least one point).
4. Whoever has the most points after all matches have been played wins the tourney.
5. Eeveelutions will be assigned at random.
6. You may change any aspect of your Eeveelution (moves, items, abilities, gender, etc.) but only between matches.
7. You may NOT change any aspect of your Eeveelution between the rounds of a match.

The grand prize for this tourney is... nothing, because this is just for fun (unless someone has any ideas).

If you do feel like joining, I'll give you until next Saturday (July 18th) to do it.
I'm honestly not sure if anyone's even gonna be interested.

Participants:
1. Verbatim
2. CK97
3. Luis
4. Suarez
5. Pichu
6. TBlocks
7. Tyger
8. Das

Oh, and Eeveelutions will be assigned once eight players have signed up, or until sign-ups are over.
This is to prevent opportunists.

And any questions/concerns/comments about the rules will be heard.

And, of course, I forgot the replays... sorry guys :/
ALSO, don't worry, i got em

if anyone wants to see, just ask

are there any plans for them to make it so 3DS replays can be uploaded directly to youtube, or is that just for Wii U

also thank you for the kind words

You could've switched even if you won, yes.
i meant during the final round, when you counterpicked greninja to destroy ganon

i couldn't have been like "nope" and switched to sheik at that moment, right?
i was stuck with ganon during that round?

that's how it works in most tournaments, iirc

edit:
nvm, we established this on the first page--there was nothing i could have done
"characters can be switched mid-set"

so we have free reign? even the winner can switch characters?
just wondering
Yes, but the winner can't switch after the loser switches in order to prevent a counter-pick from the advantaged player. Although that'll more than likely to enforce considering this is online.

I couldn't have switched back to Sheik, though, right?... That wouldn't have been allowed?
That's the impression I was under--if you win, you can't switch.

if so, i don't like that rule
if not, oh my god i'll be so salty

if only i was better with sheik

if i can't beat the worst character in the game with the best character in the game, there's something wrong

that's why i was hesitant to switch to ganon, though, because i knew you were gonna force me into that matchup again
oh well
