I didn't use the forum as much as I used its Xat chat room, which was located under the forum posts. The people there were okay, I guess, even though most of them (including myself) were just a bunch of middle schoolers. There was a lot of "XD"ing involved. My grammar has never been worse during those times.
Some of the mods, however, I ended up befriending--and I still chat with them to this day.
It was different in the sense that everything was new. There was no such thing as an "internet meme" in those days.
Jokes were original, and users had... personalities.
It was... actually kinda nice, in that respect. Aw, now I'm getting all nostalgic.

are you actually not understanding what's happening, or it's a "twitch plays" stream no one guy is playing it--the stream is playing it inputs are entered into the chat by people watching the stream the first game to implement the idea was pokémon, and it became super popular (because it turned beating a relatively simple game into a huge ordeal), and they actually managed to beat it--and after that, all sorts of weird shit was tried out

that's basically what you were saying though my point was, no one was just begging to see a movie about talking cars--it's... just kinda lame it sounds like a parody of pixar, if you ask me but maybe i'm biased because by the time i saw that movie, i was going through my "cartoons are for babies" phase
