why do we have two game of the decade threads
best game of the decade =/= game of the decade it's like person of the year--it doesn't necessarily have to be a good person

Bioshock Infinite
it has a girl with boobs in it though so it can't be bad

I can assure I have no interest in seeing Isara's boobs (that he doesn't have). If he/she can't take a little banter he should fuck off. And he did. Problem solved.
He didn't do shit for the site and was a boring member with shitty opinions.
Do we know what he did or didn't contribute?

what if isara is actually female, but told everyone she was male so certain people would leave her alone?
I'd feel pretty bad about what I said about her here, then. I work with the knowledge I have right now, though, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

But that's what I mean, to write in a name on a board that uses thread specific ID's is just autistic.
I'm mostly really talking about /pol/.

Why is it, whenI had a little break from this place and went to 4chan for a while, then came back.....does this place seem ever more like 4chan?
Did I just pick a convenient time to migrate?
a few of our more prominent memesters are 4chan users or have been heavily influenced by 4chan culture, so it seeps into the overall culture of Sep7.
It's only to be expected, since 4chan is producing a good portion of the cultural capital on the internet these days.
Because it's an anonymous messaging board. There's no ego or reputation, there's no bullshit. It's literally just say whatever you want.
you haven't been there long enough if you think there's no ego or reputation
You can't really have a reputation unless you're autistic enough to write in the same name every time you post in which case well, you're autistic.
why is that autistic
Because you have your thread specific ID already, writing in a name is just autistic. Look at a few /pol/ threads, you'll see what I mean.
Not all boards use thread-specific IDs, though. I think that's kind of a new practice, and only for a select few boards. I don't use 4chan though.

Probably because they were the biggest celebrity couple ever, and managed to stay faithful to each other for a very long time.
This is the first I'm hearing about it.
Still more compelling news than "guy hits ball with bat really hard" or "guy kicks ball into net really fast."

That's my way of saying "it's solidly in the mediocre range (5-6)." It's got the fun of a $20 indie game; a few hours of novelty, and then it wears on you. There's so little reason to play after you realize how obtuse discovering an entire planet is (different birds, plants, etc that look exactly the same), issues with procedural generation (buildings spawning with no doors, the same crashed ship on every planet, things starting to look samey), bugs that are still in the game relating to suit upgrades, poorly-planned out item-stack limits, and so on. These are all issues with the game that greatly impair it's "goodness" without even mentioning how the game was marketed.
You of all people should know that being "fun" doesn't make it good. It's a subjective descriptor. By all accounts, I would not call it a good game. Everything about this game reeks of being an unpolished mess. It's not DNF, but it's not good: ESPECIALLY for a $60 price-tag. Huh, I almost completely forgot that it's a $60 game. I was lucky and paid $10 for it--I suppose if I paid six times more, I'd be a lot sharper with my criticism. I definitely wouldn't have paid full-price for this, and I'm not sure why I didn't factor that in at first. By how much I love defending it, you might think I love the game, but I don't. I agree--I'd give it no more than a 5/10 myself. But just as having a hyped-up media circus around a game is the perfect set-up for mass eventual disappointment, a shitstorm of anti-hype and vitriol towards another game can make you feel a lot more sympathetic--or at least, more willing to study the game's flaws and give it the credit it deserves for what it actually did right. That's how I work, anyway. It's easy for me to find the pros when everyone else is busy chewing on the cons. In particular, I think the fact that each of the alien races you encounter all speak their own unique language is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a video game. Because in every other game that features aliens, they all speak English, and they always have to try and come up with some bullshit excuse for why. And in NMS, the fact that you have to decipher all the languages yourself is another stroke of brilliance that never gets talked about. It's little things like that that make me think, "Huh, this game is actually pretty cool." Because they're not actually little things--they're huge things. The entire experience, for me, teaches you not to take the little things for granted by putting them centerstage in a vast, otherwise nihilistically-empty universe. That shit's cool as fuck to me. So, no, I'm afraid that I simply cannot agree that it's not a good game "by all accounts." You're free to have that opinion, though, and I respect that you're standing your ground on that.

lol guys verbatim fell in love with an internet tranny
that wouldn't count as catfishing like i said, i don't give a fuck if you're actually transgender--some people would, i guess? i wouldn't i'm talking about people like isara

If you're in love with somebody to the point that your life revolves around them and you haven't even ever met then you need to kill yourself
js
you shouldn't need to "meet" anybody to fall in love with them people should just be honest--but just because they're not doesn't mean people aren't allowed to trust each other and when that trust is broken, it's a terrible terrible thing

I mean, you're constantly an insufferable cunt for attention, is wanting to feel pretty the worst thing you could do for it?
this sort of thing can lead to catfishing incidents, which can ruin lives or cause permanent psychological damage
it's unacceptable behavior
If your life was ruined by finding out Isara is a man, then you didn't really have a reason to be alive in the first place.
do you know what catfishing is do you know what principles are

wtf
you specified numerous times you were talking about Isara, when the conversation wasn't even about him
then when you finally dropped the Isara insistence and I repeated what I said, you made no mention of cis or trans shit until just now
http://sep7agon.net/the-flood/describe-a-user/msg1326264/#msg1326264except in the very post that spurred the conversation the first thing i make clear is that isara was not trans the implication being that, had isara been trans, it would've been 100% perfectly okay with me

no, you said everyone
i've specified numerous times that i'm referring only to people who aren't already transgender, AKA cisgender for fuck's sake, i don't need to be told that transgender people aren't doing it for attention
13702
« on: September 21, 2016, 04:28:49 AM »
not everyone who prefers to be seen as a female is desperate for the attention of losers on the internet
i don't actually need to refute it, because all you've done so far is contradict my initial assertion i posit that any cisgendered person who poses as the opposite gender is attention-seeking you say no, and you've yet to provide additional support for this contradiction ie. a reason for me to take you seriously "that's how you want to be perceived as" is not a reason--WHY do they want to be perceived that way? A: attention
13703
« on: September 21, 2016, 04:21:49 AM »
the same reason you would claim to be a male on the internet, that's what you want to be perceived as
it doesn't require the goal of attention
already refuted this it DOES require the goal of attention

Wan't to be viewed a certain way =/= wanting to be that all the time. no shit, i don't know what your point is This is like saying drag queens are the same thing as trannies.
isara was not a drag queen isara was an attention-seeking loser that's my point

take my post and apply it to everybody wow nothing changes wow so hard to glean for yourself

the same reason you would claim to be a male on the internet, that's what you want to be perceived as
it doesn't require the goal of attention
if you want to be perceived as a certain gender, that sounds like transgender to me isara was NOT transgender try again

« on: September 21, 2016, 03:49:19 AM »
yep, anyone who's ever claimed to be a girl on the internet is just doing it to get attention and sexual longing from creeps on the web, you've really opened my eyes on that one
it really shouldn't be a controversial assertion what other reason would you do something so toxic and duplicitous

I mean if anything people who do sexually harass get called out and made fun of

if no man's sky came out january 1st, 2010, nobody would even THINK to bring it up
because they would've forgotten about it
because it's not the worst game of the decade
a reasonable person probably wouldn't even put it in their bottom 100, if they played every game that came out 2010-2019
someone described it as "aggressively mediocre" earlier--it's not even that. that just sounds like someone who's SO desperate to dislike the game no matter what, while still feigning a "i'm in the middle, i'm such a reasonable person haha" attitude
the game is enjoyable, but not for everybody--if you're not willing to grant it that much, i don't consider you reasonable
